Mortal Kombat 2 Pulled from PlayStation Store

Mortal Kombat 2 Pulled from PlayStation Store 50°
332w ago - Update: Apparently, the European PSN store still has the title on its list. However, the American store doesn't even show it on the download history.

It looks like Mortal Kombat fanatics won't be getting their kicks from the franchise's early releases for a while as Midway Games' Mortal Kombat 2 has been pulled from the PlayStation Store.

What's even worse is that the game's been removed so completely that it doesn't even show up on users' recently downloaded lists, so reinstalling it is no longer an option.

There is a bit of good news, though. According to a Sony PR guy, the removal was due to an issue that occurred after the firmware 2.50 update.

The Sony rep also said that the game will be back on the store as soon as it's fixed.

Capcom-Themed PSN Store Coming in November, More to Follow 50°
332w ago - Capcom product manager John Diamonon revealed during a recent interview with Edge Online that a Capcom-themed PSN store will open this November. The store's layout will essentially be the same as Sony's, but with Capcom-specific assets and titles.

To quote: "Out of all of the third-party companies making use of the digital space, [Sony] recognizes Capcom is one of the best partners for content," said John Diamonon, product manager on all Capcom digital titles.

He said that Sony approached Capcom with the idea. "We're supporting PlayStation Network like no other company," Diamonon claimed.

Capcom expects the store to launch in early November. Diamonon acknowledged that other publishers will offer dedicated storefronts in the future.

Firmware 5.0 Demo: PlayStation Store on PSP

Firmware 5.0 Demo: PlayStation Store on PSP 250°
333w ago - Per Grace Chen (Senior Manager, PLAYSTATION Store) today:

Hi everyone, as Eric mentioned in his post yesterday, we wanted to give you a live demo of the PSP's direct access to PlayStation Store, which will be coming with the 5.00 firmware update.

Now whenever your PSP is connected to the Internet over WiFi, you'll be able to download and enjoy the latest games, demos and trailers on the go without needing to sync up to your PS3 or PC. Here's a brief walk-through of what you'll experience.

On a related note, the PS3 firmware update (2.50) will add Flash Player 9 support to the PS3 Web browser, so you'll be able to actually watch this video (and all of our blog videos) on your PS3 once the firmware goes live!

In addition, I want to point out that the PlayStation Network is scheduled to be unavailable in North America today from 11AM to 4PM PST due to essential maintenance work.
