Video: Warp Teleports to PlayStation Network This Winter

200°
173w ago - Trapdoor Marketing Coordinator Julia Pung has shared a video trailer today announcing that Warp will be teleporting to PlayStation Network this Winter.

To quote: When someone plays Warp for the first time, they generally have one reaction: laugh at the volume of blood, then turn to me and say, "I didn't expect that."

This is what happens when a cuddly alien makes a scientist explode from the inside out. With its sci-fi world, unique mechanics, and combination of adorable character meets extreme gore, Warp is the kind of game you might not expect to see - if it weren't for the digital space, that is.

So what's the game about, other than pulverizing scientists? Warp is a puzzle-based stealth action game where you play as Zero, an adorable alien trapped in a human testing facility.

You've been captured and experimented on, and wake up from your ordeal with one ultimate goal: escape. Easier said than done but, lucky for us, cute little Zero isn't really that helpless.

Warp is all about your alien powers, and the entire game was designed as a showcase for their many applications. We put a lot of work into making sure that, not only...

1150°
173w ago - PlayStation 3 homebrew developer wborland0 has updated the popular PlayStation 3 game manager / updater application called PS3 Game List to version 1.9.1 for Windows, Linux and Mac this weekend.

Download: PS3 Game List v1.9.1 Manager for Windows / PS3 Game List v1.9.1 Manager for Linux / PS3 Game List v1.9.1 Manager for Mac

To quote: Another small revision with late additions, bringing PS3 Game List to v1.9.1.

The Linux port of PS3 Game List, based upon v1.9.1, is available for download. It implements most of the Windows version features (minus the platform specific functionality). The OpenSSL package is required (download the correspondent version for your release), and so is the Qt lib (the download link includes base files).

The OSX port of PS3 Game List, based upon v1.9.1, is here, featuring the same app updates (minus the platform specific functionality). Mac OS X 10.5 or up is required, so is OpenSSL (OSX ships with a slightly outdated version, but it should work; feel free to update to the latest release, though) and the Qt lib (the download link includes base files).

The Snow Leopard issues seem to be fixed;...

Notable changes:

  • Added a level editor.
  • You now have a score which is displayed at the top of the screen and decreases as time passes.
  • If you score reaches zero then you lose.
  • Your score increases when you collect the white orbs.
  • High scores are automatically saved and displayed in the level selection screen.

  • The “automatic win” level has been made more elaborate. I added 10 place holder levels for...

Square Enix Announces a Winter of RPGs Campaign on PSN

400°
173w ago - Square Enix Product Manager Charles McCarter has announced news today of their upcoming Winter of RPGs Campaign on PlayStation Network, which includes popular titles Chrono Cross, Final Fantasy V, and Final Fantasy VI.

To quote: I'm here to announce Square Enix's "Winter of RPGs" campaign.

In some parts of North America, winter seems to have gotten an early head start. And while that brings a lot of headaches for those who have to contend with ice and snow, it's also a perfect time for us to announce our latest group of titles coming to PSN.

So, while you're staying inside and out of the cold, icky weather, why not fire up your PS3 and play some classic RPGs? We've got some great games lined up to get you through the cold days ahead.

So what's up first? Some of you may have noticed my responses to reader comments in my last column. And even last week, readers of "The Drop" were asking when we'd see this particular title arrive.

Well, get ready to travel not through time, but through alternate realities when Chrono Cross releases. Join Serge as he finds himself in a world where he died as a young child, meets the enigmatic thief Kid, and goes on a quest for the artifact known as the Frozen Flame!

The sequel to Chrono Trigger, Chrono Cross delivers...
