Video: Sony Previews PULSE 11/9 Edition, Available Today on PSN

224w ago - Sony PlayStation Network Executive Producer Kevin Furuichi has made available a preview video of the PULSE 11/9 Edition, which arrives today on PSN.

To quote: Time for another edition of PULSE, presented by the PlayStation Network.

In the 11.09 edition, Christina Lee checks out the latest titles for the PlayStation Move including SingStar Dance and The Fight: Lights Out, the return of Kratos in God of War: Ghost of Sparta, plus Top 10 downloads of the 10th month of the 2010. What do you think is #1 for October?

Plus, Knives Chau is now available as a butt-kickin' add-on for Scott Pilgrim vs. The World: The Game. And, if you missed the movie in theaters, it's now available on the Video Side of PlayStation Store.

Speculation: No Ultra HD for Sony's Next-gen PS4 Console?

224w ago - While Sony previously confirmed that developers will play a key role in building their next-gen console which is expected to arrive after the Microsoft and Nintendo counterparts, today PS4Sony.net (linked above) speculates that the PS4 won't include Ultra HD support.

Based on specifications from WiseGeek.com, they surmise the technology just doesn't seem feasible for next-gen consoles including the PlayStation 4.

To quote: "Today, Full HD offers up a maximum resolution of 1920 x 1080, whereas the new you-beaut Ultra HD offers a whopping max resolution of 7680 x 4320!

Ultra HD poses numerous practical problems for manufacturers seeking to bring the new format to consumers. The uncompressed video and audio recorded in ultra HD takes up high volumes of storage space - 3.5 terabytes for one 18-minute clip, requiring a hard disc weighing almost 600 pounds (272 kg).

The prototype ultra HD screen can use more electricity than an entire house might in one month. An early ultra HD camera weighs more than 100 pounds...

224w ago - Today Sony's Social Media Manager Jeff Rubenstein has shared details of PlayStation Move for PS3 by the numbers.

"Whether we're talking Trophy Level, KDR, or NPD, us gamers are a pretty stat-obsessed lot. Last week, we announced that a million PlayStation Move units have been shipped in North America.

This morning, have a look at some more stats about the first month of PlayStation Move's availability.

Sony: 1 Million PlayStation Move Units Shipped in North America

225w ago - Sony PlayStation 3 Marketing Manager Kim Nguyen has announced today that one million PlayStation Move units have shipped in North America and that there is a growing library of titles.

To quote: You might have heard that PlayStation Move has already shipped one million units and given the list of exciting games below, it's hard to imagine sales slowing down.

Next Tuesday marks the launch of gritty brawler, The Fight: Lights Out, party favorite SingStar Dance, and the HD revival of one of PlayStation's most iconic characters, Sly Cooper, in The Sly Collection.

But that's just the start of the holiday shopping season; we've got more great games on their way for every type of gamer - from the casual to the core and everyone in between. Sony Details November and December PlayStation Plus Content

225w ago - PlayStation Network Product Manager James Thorpe has shared details today on upcoming content for PlayStation Plus during November and December 2010.

To quote: Hi Guys, hope you all enjoyed Street Fighter HD and all the 50% discounts in the October content.

First of all though, don't forget that if you haven't signed up then now is a great time to do so as you can still get an extra 90 days membership for free when you buy a one year subscription. That's a lot of extra content and features for your money!

Before we discuss what's coming for November and December I want to touch on a few of the issues some subscribers experienced.

We made all five pieces of Fallout 3 DLC available in Poland on Wednesday 27th October. Sorry for the delay. This content will feature on the Plus part of the store for one week only so subscribers are encouraged to download it as soon as possible.

An issue prevented us from bring the Halloween avatars in time for the weekend. These were always a bonus for you guys and weren't part of usual programming - we were trying something new. Sorry we haven't got them to you; we're working on something else to make it up to you.
