New Final Fantasy XIII Characters Detailed in Jump Magazine 300°
July 16, 2009 // 7:54 am - A scan from the latest issue of Jump Magazine reveals some new Final Fantasy XIII character details, and NeoGAF forum member Rpgmonkey has translated some of the scan, as follows:

Signs Point Towards a Final Fantasy XIII Simultaneous Release 50°
July 9, 2009 // 12:39 am - Last week Square Enix announced that Dissidia: Final Fantasy would be released in Europe on the 4th of September, 2009... only a week after the North American release.

For those who have been following Final Fantasy for some time, delays between regions are usually quite substantial.

To quote: It's not uncommon for there to be a 4-5 month delay between the North American and European versions, and it's something that's always been very disappointing to European gamers.

Final Fantasy is Coming to the Japanese PlayStation Store 200°
June 24, 2009 // 12:34 am - Today, June 24, 2009 the Japanese PlayStation Store will be updated with yet another Final Fantasy PSOne Classic.

This time it's the original Final Fantasy, numero uno, weighing in at 60MB. When the game launches, it will go for 600 Yen.

No word on if or when it'll come to the West, but probably a bit after considering Final Fantasy VII came and Final Fantasy Tactics is on the way.

Two Final Fantasy Dissidia PSP Bonuses for US Gamers 50°
June 20, 2009 // 7:02 pm - Square Enix has struck a deal with two of the largest game-selling retailers in the US to give away some exclusive Dissidia goodies to those who preorder the game.

Fans will only be able to get one unless they buy from both places - so they'll have to choose.

To quote: GameStop will get an exclusive slip-cover for Dissidia to give away. People who preorder and buy theg ame from their local Gamestop store will get not one but two special edition cases - Black for Chaos, and White for Cosmos.

Meanwhile, online retailer Amazon will get an exclusive limited edition...

Snow, Vanille and Sazh Final Fantasy XIII Figures Revealed 100°
June 17, 2009 // 3:50 pm - Square-Enix's endeavor to bring us FFXIII merchandise before Final Fantasy XIII has even been released continues with the reveal of three new figurines of Snow, Vanille and Sazh.

They're pretty much the same quality as the rest of Square's figurine work but will no doubt cost a small fortune.

A release date for all of figures is yet to be determined.

ESRB Rates Final Fantasy Tactics for PlayStation Network 250°
June 15, 2009 // 2:25 am - It looks like Final Fantasy VII isn't the only Final Fantasy game coming to the PSone Classics selection on the PlayStation Store.

The ESRB have recently rated Final Fantasy Tactics for the PlayStation 3 and PSP, meaning it's most definitely on its way to the PlayStation Store.

Let's hope with the second Final Fantasy title coming to the PlayStation Store, that there are more to come.

Maybe we'll soon get Final Fantasy IX, Ehrgeiz, Chrono Cross and other Square PSone titles on the PlayStation Store.

Final Fantasy XIII Famitsu Screens Show Pulse and Odin 250°
June 14, 2009 // 7:37 pm - Famitsu has gotten new screenshots of Final Fantasy XIII up on their site. The images look marvelous, to say the least.

We see the spreading fertile land of Pulse, as well as an image of Cocoon floating above the land.

Another image depicts Vanille running through a viney forest. A new summon for Lightning, named Odin, is also shown.

Final Fantasy XIII is slated for a Winter 2009 release in Japan.
