263w ago - Today MLB 10 The Show PS3 Associate Producer Clayton Read has shared a video detailing 'Real Time' presentation mode, as follows:

In a continued effort to blur the lines between a video game and a televised broadcast, MLB 10: The Show is proud to introduce the brand new presentation mode: Real Time. Available with replays or without, Real Time is a new presentation mode designed to further enhance the realism our baseball simulation offers you, the baseball fan.

Hoping to have you question whether you're playing MLB 10: The Show or watching a live baseball game on TV, we've captured hundreds of new animations and have done extensive work with both our AI and our cameras.

From the pitcher toeing the rubber until the next batter walks up to the dish, you'll experience continuity with the seamless animations and positional intelligence of each player on and off the field.

All new camera angles and cut-timing capture the player's new movements and further enhance the presentation mode by mimicking the camera work seen on televised MLB broadcasts. Post-play has never looked this real.

In this Real Time presentations video, we're off to brand new Target...

Video: Sony Interviews MLB 10 The Show Cover Star Joe Mauer

264w ago - Sony's Social Media Manager Jeff Rubenstein has shared a video interview today with MLB 10 The Show cover athlete Joe Mauer.

To quote: Ever wonder how the MLB The Show series nails all those in-game animations? It's because the team in San Diego brings in actual players who show them how it's done.

This week, Minnesota Twins catcher and AL MVP Joe Mauer was in the motion capture studio to, um, run around in spandex with a glove and bat. The results will be apparent when the game hits early next month.

In the meantime, Mauer took time to chat with us about his incredible 2009 season, what it's like to show up on the cover of a game, and how some Major Leaguers use games (like The Show) to scout out opponents in advance. Oh, and working with our (M)VP, Kevin Butler.

For what it's worth, Mauer was a really cool, chill guy; maybe not what you'd expect out of an elite athlete. Best of luck to him this season.

264w ago - MLB 10: The Show Producer Jason Villa has detailed the video game's online season leagues for Sony's PlayStation 3 today, as follows:

In this post I'll be describing the details of the all-new and revamped Online Season League system for MLB 10: The Show. Forget what you knew about SportsConnect leagues last year, and please continue reading...

Our goal coming into this year was to give online users the same season experience online as they've come to expect in the offline season mode. However, there are still the Online League specific features, like creating a Draft or Non-Draft league.

The draft still allows for 6-30 teams, with some audio queues for "your turn" and "countdown." A few new Create League settings: Custom Sliders, Presentation Mode, Umpire Balls and Strikes, Ejections, Home Run Celebration.

We are again providing you with all online user stats and leaderboards, but the huge change this year is the addition of all player stats for your full 40-man roster.

You will get access to the full "Around the League" screens, including Playoff Brackets, Standings, Statistics, Team Rankings, League Leaders and Awards. Just to relay the amount of data available in Online Leagues, we are potentially talking about 30 teams, with 40 players,...

Sony Unveils the MLB 10: The Show Soundtrack for PlayStation 3

50°
265w ago - Today MLB 10: The Show's Producer Jason Villa has unveiled the PlayStation 3 title's soundtrack on Sony's PS Blog.

To quote: Every year we try to assemble a diverse and entertaining soundtrack for MLB The Show. We look to create a balance of established bands and some lesser known, up and coming artists, which offer great music.

Let's face it; music is such a subjective art that it's impossible to create a soundtrack that consists of songs that everybody loves. For that reason we offer "My MLB Music." That said, take a look below at the artist bios and details below.

This will give you a chance to see MLB 10: The Show's soundtrack and get a glimpse of what each artist or band is about.

Band of Skulls - "I Know What I Am"
Baroness - "Swollen and Halo"
The Grouch & Eligh - "All In (Feat. Gift of Gab & Pigeon John)"
Night Horse - "Come Down Halo"
Scarlet Symphony - "Your Blood Is Mine"
Silversun...
