Capcom's mysterious PS3 announcement countdown begins 50°
October 14, 2007 // 5:59 pm - As revealed earlier on in the week, Capcom stated that over the next few days something wll be announced which will put a smile on PS3 owners face. Since then Capcom Unity, an Official Capcom blog venue has posted up a countdown which has over 2 days left to with the caption 'Prepare Yourself' visible.

Capcom To PS3 Fans: Just Wait Until Next Week 50°
October 11, 2007 // 7:05 pm - At the official Capcom boards, their Sr. Director of Strategic Planning & Research Christian Svensson replied to a comment made by a user who was less than happy about Capcom's decision of bringing Monster Hunter 3 over to the Wii. To quote:

"Capcom is losing fans. They obviously don't care for their PS3-owner fans.

Svensson: Let's see how they [PS3 owners] feel at the end of next week about us."

Looks like some big announcements are coming as early as next week for PS3 owners!

September 15, 2007 // 2:48 pm - Will the trade shows please end?! Tokyo Game Show picks up where Games Convention left off (which picked up where E3 left off etc) next week, with Japanese publishers said to be unleashing their big guns on the Makuhari Messe crowd.

Capcom in particular has been tipped for deployment of "three huge announcements," according to Australian site Game Player, which says it became savvy to the info at the recent Activate Asia 2007 conference in Cairns.

The site is apparently sworn to secrecy, but says the info has it "busting at the seams with excitement." Could this finally...

Capcom shares hit five-year high 50°
September 11, 2007 // 3:35 pm - Capcom, developer and publisher of the Resident Evil franchise, today saw its shares hit a five-year high, closing at 2,855 yen (approx $25) on the Tokyo Stock Exchange.

Bloomberg reports that this was the highest close for the company since September 26, 2002, and that the climb was due to "expectation sales," meaning the assumption that upcoming Capcom Wii games will boost earnings. Capcom expects annual sales to rise 11 percent after doubling the number of its Wii titles to six.
