Video: Minutes Lands on PS4 and PS Vita Today, Launch Trailer

3w ago - Red Phantom Games Founder / Director Richard Ogden shared a trailer video announcing that Minutes officially lands on PS4 and PS Vita platforms today.

To quote: I'm pleased to announce that Minutes will be available on PlayStation Store today. It's a unique, abstract action game with retro DNA, a pure arcade heart, a super-clean visual style and music to get you in the zone!




Inspired by a need to rebel against AAA titles, I've designed a minimalist game. Minutes is all about gameplay purity. There are no cutscenes or dialogue trees here. It's stripped down to the fundamentals - move, collect, avoid, gauge risk vs. reward, think and react.

The challenge unfolds across 60 one-minute levels, chasing the score targets and other goals with different "energy shapes" to test you and various power-ups to unlock and assist you.

The mechanics at the game's core are simple: the player controls a circle and moves it around the screen to collect light energy shapes (for points) and avoid dark (which damage the player).

On top of this, the size of the circle can be changed (using the L and R shoulder buttons). Go small to stay safe and dodge through the dark energy. Go large to collect more light...

12w ago - DrinkBox Studios COO Graham Smith announced today that Severed is coming to PS Vita in Spring 2015 with a PlayStation Vita gameplay trailer below.

To quote: Well it is an exciting month, with all the work we've put into our newest game Severed, and the announcement that we'll be launching on the PS Vita this Spring. But let me not get ahead of myself.

The PlayStation community has been unbelievably supportive since we first released the original Guacamelee!, so it was a no brainer to bring Severed to the same fans. The Vita is really a great fit for Severed as the game feels very natural there, taking full advantage of both the D-pad and multi touch screen. We can't wait for Vita owners to try it out!




At this point you're probably wondering "What the heck is Severed?"

In Severed you take control of a one-armed heroine wielding a living sword. Crazy, eh? You'll be using touch based mechanics to employ offensive and defensive techniques against a variety of enemies.

In Severed you gain abilities by wearing Totems - armor pieces that are created from the remains of defeated Bosses. These abilities, such as Sunder, can be used both in combat to destroy enemy defenses and in exploration to...

To quote: It seems that many of you have been enjoying the opportunity to check out Rainbow Moon, which is currently part of the Instant Game Collection.

Today, I would like to show you the first video footage of our new game Rainbow Skies on PS3 and PS Vita, which we've been working on for some time now.

Rainbow Skies takes place in a completely new world and is an indirect sequel to Rainbow Moon. The game tells the story of the three young protagonists Damion, Layne, and Ashly, that meet under unforeseen circumstances and who get caught in the deadly crossfire of two rival superpowers.




Using Rainbow Moon as a foundation allows us to continue to improve all of our core features and introduce many new gameplay elements, such as monster taming and a combining skill attacks, some of which you can get a sneak peek at in the trailer.

For fans of Rainbow Moon, rest assured the gameplay and structure that are a trademark of the series are our still our highest priority and we endeavor not to disappoint!

Video: Kick & Fennick on PlayStation Vita: New Details and Trailer

To quote: Hi everyone. Laurens and Vincent from Jaywalkers Interactive, here. Time flies. It's been a year already since we've last shown our game, but we're back and excited to finally share a bit more about Kick & Fennick for PS Vita!

The past year has been a crazy ride for us. We have been working closely with our friends at Abstraction Games to make Kick & Fennick the best it can be on PS Vita.

The guys at Abstraction have conjured up some amazing tech that allows us to continually refine and improve the game on our side, while they make sure everything we do gets translated perfectly. Kick & Fennick has quite a lot going on so building this custom tech has been a challenge, but we think it was worth it.

The audio also had a big overhaul. Our good friend Jonathan van den Wijngaarden, who composed the music and created everything you hear in the game, has re-mastered the entire soundtrack and polished and added lots of new sounds effects.




As for the release of Kick & Fennick, it's a bit too early...

Another frequent question was: "Who did the awesome music?" You're in the right place to find out as well! But the most frequent question was the request for Metrico gameplay footage. We want to start this post by giving you exactly that:

The main reason we took such a long time to show gameplay footage is because we always felt the main mechanics of Metrico are quite tricky to explain through video. We never got around to solving this, even though this is probably a recurring issue for novel game concepts.
