Video: First Look: The World of Powers on PlayStation Network

To quote: I'm coming up on an anniversary.

Very soon I will clock my third full year of involvement with Powers. I'm not certain of the exact date, but that anniversary is going to hit almost exactly on the March 10th Powers premiere date. Let's hear it for synchronicity.

Here's another bit of synchronicity. Long before I became involved with Powers, years before I met Brian Michael Bendis or Michael Avon Oeming (I like that both those guys buck the single name branding trend by going with their full spread three-stack names.

I tried it, but my full name makes me sound like a reject from the Monty Python Upper Class Twit of the Year Award sketch), long before I had any involvement in TV as a business, lo those many years ago, I was given an opportunity to write some comic books.




Like any healthy geek introvert, I'd been a fan of comics as a kid and a teen, but as the years passed and I developed any number of unhealthy bad habits that distracted me from such things, my visits to the local shop diminished and, finally, disappeared.

In our previous two videos, you've seen Batman infiltrate the Ace Chemicals plant, take on the Arkham Knight's militia forces and engage a platoon of unmanned drone tanks in the awesome new Batmobile, all with the objective of bringing Scarecrow's devastating plan to a halt.

We've demonstrated some new game features including the "Fear Takedown" and gadgets while gliding, as well as showing you the seamless integration of the Batmobile into the core Batman: Arkham Knight gameplay.

In this third and final part, we'll see Batman remote control the Batmobile to solve puzzles, and push his combat skills to the limit as he tackles a room full of armed mercenaries to save the Ace Chemicals' workers. Plus you'll get the first reveal of the showdown between the Batmobile and the Arkham Knight's powerful attack helicopter.

20w ago - Powers Executive Producer Brian Michael Bendis announced today that the Stream NYCC Panel begins tomorrow with a first look at Eddie Izzard as Wolfe below!

This is Brian Bendis, the executive producer of the PlayStation original series Powers and co-creator of the comic book series the show is based on.

I am broadcasting to you from New York City where we are just a day away from our Powers panel at New York Comic Con.

For those of you who don't know, Powers is an original series that will be available free for PlayStation Plus members. And it's produced by Sony Pictures Television, the talented studio behind Breaking Bad.

Powers tells the story of homicide detectives Christian Walker and Deena Pilgrim, who are ordinary detectives working on cases that just so happen to involve people with extraordinary powers. As we speak, the show is filming in Atlanta under the showrunning genius of Charlie Huston, the critically acclaimed crime novelist.

Every day I get to sift through the footage from the day before and every day I smile ear to ear because the show looks so good and the actors are giving amazing performances....
 

Entwined: Introspective Look Back at Pixelopus Emotional PS4 Debut

33w ago - Pixelopus Creative Director Dominic Robilliard shared an introspective look back at the emotional debut of Entwined alongside a PS4 video trailer below today.

To quote: Hi there! Dom here again. It's been a whirlwind since Entwined was announced and released onstage during the PlayStation E3 2014 press conference and we've been overwhelmed with the amazing response to the game.

If you haven't seen Entwined yet, it's a vibrant, abstract action/arcade game about two souls who are in love but can't be together.

These souls are represented by a bird and a fish, which you must learn to control simultaneously. Our team is as unique as the premise, so Jeff and I thought it would be great to hear straight from the rest of Pixelopus about what was involved in making Entwined.

At the very beginning when Pixelopus was formed, we had a period of time for full group brainstorm sessions, where we tried to find innovative fun game ideas that were relatively small in scale yet could fit our team's size. We took a lot of inspiration from our time in school, at Carnegie Mellon and San Jose State, where we would rapidly prototype as a part of our curriculum.

To quote: Evolution Studios took the wraps off Driveclub's dynamic weather system at E3 in Los Angeles last month and we were there to see it demoed live.

Today we've got some new direct feed gameplay clips of the dynamic weather in action and an interview from the game's Art Director Alex Perkins. This is all from an early demo of the game's realistic - and fully customizable - weather system that will be included in Driveclub as a free update for all players just shortly after launch.
