Video: Gravity-bending Brawler Paperbound Coming Soon to PS4

500°
2w ago - Sony Designer and Programmer Dan Holbert announced that the gravity-bending brawler Paperbound is coming soon to PlayStation 4 with a PS4 video trailer below!

To quote: Hi, I'm Dan Holbert, designer and programmer of Paperbound, a crazy new brawler coming soon to PS4.

I'd like to share our trailer, talk a bit about the game, and answer any questions you have. It's been a long journey filled with 7-day work weeks, so the team is happy that a lot of people have really enjoyed it.

Paperbound is a game where you run with scissors and walk on walls – all in the context of old books that have come to life. It's a local multiplayer brawler.

Two-to-four players fight it out in single-screen arenas from the pages of old books including A Journey to the Center of the Earth, Dante's Inferno, Musashi's Book of Five Rings, the ancient Egyptian Book of the Dead, and Skull Kingdom.

Magic dust has brought the characters from these books to life and given them the ability to manipulate gravity. Your gravity reorients to match the surface you're traveling along. You can also flip your gravity 180 degrees at any time for quick surprise attacks and fly-by decapitations.

It's both wacky and...

Silence: The Whispered World 2 PS4 Coming Soon to PlayStation 4

800°
5w ago - Daedalic Entertainment Game Director Uli Wanitschke announced today that Silence: The Whispered World 2 PS4 is coming soon to PlayStation 4 with details below.

To quote: Hi! Our names are Uli Wanitschke, Game Director for Silence, and Marco Hullen, Lead Designer of the game. Together with a team of approximately 20 highly talented developers, we're making Marco's concept for Silence: The Whispered World 2 become a reality.

We're all huge adventure game fans here at Daedalic Entertainment. We grew up with the likes of Monkey Island, and we all feel that the genre is alive and well. However, we also believe there's a lot of room for modernization within the genre, while at the same time not abandoning its roots.

What springs to mind first is Silence's visual style. At Daedalic, we have an incredible art department, drawing beautiful backgrounds, locations etc. We used to show these in 2D games. For Silence, however, we now use 3D technology, by following a method we call "camera projection."

We place 3D objects and 3D characters in 3D environments, but then project 2D art on everything. Marco calls this 'three-dimensional artwork' when creating all these magnificent backgrounds.

This procedure allows us to maintain the high detail level of our hand-drawn art,...

16w ago - VBlank Entertainment Developer Brian Provinciano announced that Retro City Rampage: DX Hits PS Store tomorrow and PS4 retail soon.

To quote: Tomorrow, the open-world nostalgia trip that is Retro City Rampage: DX hits PS4, PS3 and PS Vita digitally with 3X Cross Buy. With a 20% off PlayStation Plus launch week discount, you'll get all three for $7.99 ($9.99 without Plus).

That's almost half of the original's $14.99 launch price and with an added platform.

Even more, this time digital isn't your only option. 'DX' is getting a limited edition PS4 retail disc release too!

The retail edition will include the PS4 game, the digital soundtrack and a few more digital freebies for only $25. Limited to 2,000 units, this is the rarest PS4 game ever produced. Seeing as the limited edition Vinyl soundtrack sold out long ago, I strongly recommend pre-ordering. It's sold exclusively online via the Vblank Fangamer Store. and available for pre-order now.

This special retail version also includes a double sided reversible cover, giving a nod to the...

Indie Horror Game Home Hits PS4 October 28th, PS Vita Soon After

350°
18w ago - Benjamin Rivers Inc Director Benjamin Rivers confirmed today that Indie horror game Home hits PS4 on October 28th, 2014 with a PS Vita version to follow soon after.

To quote: It was announced that the horror game Home was coming to PlayStation this year, and I am very excited to say that the PS4 version of the game will be launching October 28th - just in time for Halloween!

This horror adventure is a player-driven story that responds to your choices; taking cues from adventure games as well as side-scrollers, what happens in Home is entirely up to the player.

As you make choices and even explore, the game changes in subtle ways to reflect your adventure. I like to think of it as the kind of game you'll immediately want to talk about with other players as soon as you finish it, just to compare notes.

The Vita version will follow very soon after - I honestly just couldn't wait to get the PS4 version into players' sweaty hands. But Vita owners, fear not: Home supports cross buy, so you'll get both versions of the game for the same price anyway, even if you get the PS4 version!

The only one who'll be more scared is my accountant; for the first two weeks I'm having a launch sale, so both versions of Home together will be available for the so-spooky-it-can't-be-real...

SingStar on PS4 and PS3: Out Soon, New Features Detailed

100°
19w ago - Sony Producer Jenny Murphy announced today that SingStar will be out on PS4 and PS3 soon with new features detailed below.

To quote: The brand new SingStar will be released on PS4 and PS3 in less than two weeks' time, and we're very excited to get it in to all SingStar players' hands!

Not only have we given the game an awesome interface overhaul, there are also tons of cool new features that I want to tell you about in a bit more detail.

No mic? No problem. The free SingStar Mic app can turn your smart device into a microphone. Simply download the app on your Android phone, iPhone, or iPod Touch , connect it to the same wifi network as your PS3 or PS4, and get going instantly.

To get all your friends at the party involved and have a go at winning (or failing miserably!), we've added a playlist creator to the SingStar Mic app so they can line up an ongoing list of songs while the singers are entertaining the room.

Pick any of the songs available on the PlayStation system you're connected to and just cue them up. Basically, no more waiting on the indecisive people in the room to decide if they want to sing No Doubt's Don't Speak or John Lennon's Imagine.

Got a competitive streak and want to beat down your PSN friends? Once you've finished your performance,...
