Spoilers: New Bloodborne Boss Revealed for PlayStation 4

Spoilers: New Bloodborne Boss Revealed for PlayStation 4 550°
6d ago - Sony PR Manager Yasuhiro Kitao shared some PS4 spoilers today revealing a new Bloodborne boss for PlayStation 4!

Read on if you dare, to quote: Hello, readers. This is Kitao, PR Manager for Bloodborne in Japan.

Today I would like to introduce a brand new boss enemy from the game.

Just like in Demon's Souls, Bloodborne will feature many boss enemies of all shapes and sizes, and there will be a variety of ways to defeat them. So I think you will find that the gameplay in Bloodborne is rich and diverse.

I am happy to introduce a new boss character called "Darkbeast." This electric beast emerges from giant skeletal remains. With lightning coursing through its body, it bombards the player with its erratic and off-speed movements.

You can check out this beast in action in the video just released as part of IGN First.

Darkbeast - A malformed beast enveloped in blue lightning.

With a long body made of only bones, and a wrinkle-covered skull, people say this beast must be very old, very ancient.

Or perhaps, it is...

Videos: Velocity 2X and the Element of Surprise (Spoilers Ahead!)

Videos: Velocity 2X and the Element of Surprise (Spoilers Ahead!) 50°
23w ago - FuturLab Managing Director James Marsden shared some fresh videos (contains spoilers) today spotlighting Velocity 2X and the element of surprise!

To quote: Hi folks, James from FuturLab back again one last time to share our secret to creating a great sequel!

Before I get to that, I need to stress that this post contains MASSIVE SPOILERS for Velocity 2X. So please look away until you've finished it!

We knew that the original Velocity was going to delight and surprise people because we'd added something new, interesting and exciting to the shoot 'em-up genre.

This is really important for achieving critical word-of-mouth and great review scores, and as a small studio of just three people at the time, innovation and surprise was our ticket to earning support from PlayStation.

TWICE THE TWITCHY FUN

When it came to designing the sequel, we knew we couldn't rest on our laurels, and had to keep the surprises coming.

The first idea for the sequel was to include platforming, as that would provide stable ground to expand upon the cool new features introduced by the first game, and it would drive interest for the game once...

Video: Total Recoil Sets Its Sights on PlayStation Vita Consoles

Video: Total Recoil Sets Its Sights on PlayStation Vita Consoles 50°
88w ago - Eiconic Games Art and Creative Director Simon Credland shared a video today announcing that Total Recoil is setting its sights on PlayStation Vita consoles.

To quote: Atten-tion recruits! This is an intel report from Si at indie developer Eiconic Games in the UK. We're glad to report that Total Recoil is making its way to PS Vita on July 9.

Download it and enjoy an explosion of arcade shoot 'em up action. There are only two rules in Total Recoil...

• Shoot everything that moves!
• Shoot everything that doesn't!

It all started when I was "busy" (with my feet up) playing Call of Duty on PS3, thinking to myself "These shoot-em-ups have come a long way since the old arcade games." So this started me wondering how a modern game would look on an arcade cabinet.

It would be top-down, the characters would have large heads, there would be wave after wave of baddies with flamethrowers, huge tanks and attack copters - and this is what you get with Total Recoil.

But developing on the PS Vita is better than an arcade machine and gives us more control than mobile and tablet games - we've made use of all the PS Vita's controls. You use the left stick to move, the right stick to shoot and strafe. When you fire a missile you can trace its path...

PS Mobile: Chillingo Games Coming to PSM, Starting with Feed Me Oil 50°
88w ago - Chillingo COO Ed Rumley announced as part of today's PS Mobile update that Chillingo Games are coming to PSM starting with Feed Me Oil.

To quote: Today, Chillingo is delighted to announce that we are partnering with PlayStation to bring some of our very best titles to the PlayStation Mobile platform, starting with the wildly popular Feed Me Oil.

Chillingo is proud to have published some of the best (and most loved!) games that Indie developers have had to offer over the last decade, and we are extremely excited to bring these experiences to PlayStation Mobile.

This partnership gives millions of PlayStation gamers access to great Chillingo titles on PS Vita or PlayStation Certified Android devices.

Over the next few weeks, we will be releasing some of our other popular games: Little Acorns, iBomber Defense, and Roll in the Hole.

Feed Me Oil

Both press and players alike universally adore Feed Me Oil. It's simple, yet deceptively challenging, gameplay made it a benchmark for physics puzzlers and we're extremely pleased to be able to bring it to PlayStation Mobile.

iBomber Defense

$2.79, launching on July 10th

Few franchises...

Sony on What's New in Rocketbirds: Hard Boiled Chicken for PS Vita

Sony on What's New in Rocketbirds: Hard Boiled Chicken for PS Vita 50°
118w ago - Today Sony Producer and Studio Head Sian Yue Tan has shared what is new in Rocketbirds: Hard Boiled Chicken for PS Vita, which is taking flight in 2013.

Below are the details, to quote: It's my pleasure to tell you that Rocketbirds: Hardboiled Chicken is coming to the PS Vita in the first quarter of 2013!

Rocketbirds, our cinematic platform adventure game, has come a long way from its three IGF finalist nominations back in 2010. Since then, we listened to people's feedback and vastly improved the game for its PS3 release in October 2011.

That version had more technical improvements than we could shake a stick at; we made it fast and included stereoscopic 3D, added a new Jet Pack mode, a two-player couch co-op campaign and polished the heck out of it.

We received more great feedback, so when it came down to the PS Vita version, we jumped at the opportunity to iterate on the game once more. We added things like new chapters, puzzles and humor; a unique new Hardboiled difficulty setting; improvements to the controls to utilize the PS Vita's unique features; and improved connectivity for the cooperative campaign.

From the beginning, I've really wanted to include...
