Though CES is officially A Big Big Deal in the consumer electronics world, it's not generally known for making a huge splash among gamers.

Nevertheless, we like our gadgets and we suspect that you do, too. So in the interest of furthering the public good, we present Sony Electronics' annual CES keynote.

The festivities kick off live tonight, Monday, January 5th at 5pm Pacific Time and you'll be able to follow along live right here on PlayStation.Blog. You can also follow along live with @SonyElectronics on Twitter.

Road Not Taken Free PS4 Update is Out Now on PlayStation 4

To quote: Hi folks! We're pleased to announce the first major (free!) update to Road Not Taken is hitting your PS4s now! There's a lot of goodies in here, the most notable of which include:

• "Easier" mode and hard mode: many people have told us that while they love the original gameplay and the art in Road Not Taken, the game is simply too difficult for them. After chewing on this feedback for a while, we decided to split the game into two modes, Normal and Hard.

"Hard" is basically our original mode with just a few tweaks; "Normal" is a new mode that is more generous with energy and has less crowded (and therefore less difficult) rooms, among other changes.

In addition, checkpoints are now less punishing to use (in both modes), so players who felt like they were pointless before will hopefully find them more of a tempting gamble now.

• New "just for fun" Timed Mode: try to rescue all the kids within four minutes! You lose time whenever you take damage, and you add time to the clock whenever you eat food and rescue children. Timed Mode has no impact on your career, so it's a great way to enjoy Road Not Taken for a few minutes with limited...

Video: Spry Fox Announces Road Not Taken is Out Today on PS4

Hey everyone, I've got a whole lot to say today, but first and foremost: Road Not Taken is available for download on PS4 today!

And hey, we've put together a snazzy launch trailer to whet your appetites:




For PS4 fans who live outside North America: the European PS4 launch is tomorrow, the Asian launch is the 7th, and the Japanese launch is the 20th.

If you don't know much about Road Not Taken, here's the short description: it's a roguelike puzzle game about surviving life's surprises.

It's original, it's devilishly difficult, and it will keep you entertained for dozens of hours with procedurally generated levels that are infinitely replayable and 200 secrets to unlock and master. You can see more videos of the game here.
