Oreshika: Tainted Bloodlines is Coming to PS Vita on March 3rd

300°
1w ago - Sony Producer Yulie Yoshimura announced today that Oreshika: Tainted Bloodlines is coming to PS Vita on March 3rd, 2015.

Below are the details, to quote: It's been a long time since we've brought you any news on Oreshika: Tainted Bloodlines, but I'm excited to announce that this unique JRPG will be available as a digital download on PS Vita via PlayStation Store for $19.99 starting on March 3rd!

So what does Oreshika bring to fans of the genre? Well, first of all there's the striking graphic style. Set in ancient Japan, the game art delivers a rich world inspired by traditional brush paintings of the Heian era.

You'll be exploring a beautiful, watercolor world filled with weird and wonderful creatures based on Japanese mythology. Oh, and we've kept the fantastic Japanese voiceover which fits in with the atmosphere perfectly.

The gameplay is quite unique, too. In Oreshika, you'll take control of a clan whose bloodlines have been struck with two terrible curses - a Curse of Ephemerality, and a Curse of Broken Lineage.

The Curse of Ephemerality means that your clan members age rapidly with a maximum lifespan of around 2 years. As you explore labyrinths, defeat demons, and find treasures, the clock of in-game time is always ticking so it's important to plan your...

Video: Witness a Bioweapon Outbreak in Killing Floor: Uncovered on PS4

1w ago - Tripwire Interactive Vice President Alan Wilson invites PS4 fans to witness a bioweapon outbreak in Killing Floor: Uncovered on PlayStation 4 today!

Below is a video trailer with details, as follows:

As you know, Killing Floor 2 is heading to PS4 later this year. It's a brutal, fast-paced, co-op FPS that puts players into deadly battles with genetically engineered bioweapons using a host of wicked killing tools.

Following our announcement at PlayStation Experience, we wanted to show a wider view of the game's universe in the form of a short movie, which you can watch above. We thought it would be a cool project and a great opportunity to tell more story in the run-up to the launch of Killing Floor 2 this year on PS4.

For those not familiar with the Killing Floor back-story, the original game began in the UK with players being thrust into the midst of an outbreak caused by genetically engineered creatures escaping from Horzine facilities.

By the time of Killing Floor 2, the UK has been overrun and very few have escaped alive. After a brief respite, more outbreaks have launched in mainland Europe - such as "Burning Paris" - and the whole mass slaughter has kicked into a higher gear.

Jungle Rumble: Freedom, Happiness, and Bananas on PS Vita Today

250°
3w ago - Disco Pixel's Trevor Stricker announced that Jungle Rumble: Freedom, Happiness, and Bananas officially arrives onon PS Vita today!

Below are all the details and a PlayStation Vita trailer video, to quote:

Jungle Rumble is banging its way onto PS Vita... today! A ray of Rhythm-Puzzle sunshine beaming straight from the heart of the jungle, by curious route through the snowed in headquarters of Disco Pixel in blizzard-beseiged Boston, Massachusetts, USA.

Jungle Rumble is a game where the player drums on the screen to control a tribe of monkeys. A rival tribe invades to steal bananas. The player drums on monkeys and drums on trees to swing those monkeys through those trees. The player drums on coconuts and drums on invaders to throw those coconuts. It's a Rhythm-Puzzle game.

Making Jungle Rumble happen has involved a lot of late nights by glowing screens, a lot of paying attention while new people playtested, and a lot of rethinking the assumptions of rhythm games. It has come a long way since a frigid night where I pitched the idea to Luigi Guatieri, who did the art.

We started off trying to make monkeys as simple and iconic as we could. We experimented with what makes a face look like...

Video: Madness Awaits You In the Darkest Dungeon on PS4

12w ago - Red Hook Studios Creative Director Chris Bourassa shared a PS4 video today announcing that madness awaits you in the Darkest Dungeon on PlayStation 4.

Below are the details, to quote: Greetings from the Abyss! We are Red Hook Studios, an independent 5-person team working out of Vancouver, BC, Canada.

We're all big fans of the dungeon crawling genre here, going all the way back to classics like Bard's Tale and Eye of the Beholder (1 & 2!).

We decided we wanted to honor that lineage and make an RPG in the classic vein. However, we also wanted to do something different at the same time. Something unique and challenging in its own way. Something memorable. Then it hit us: Stress.

We all experience it, especially those in particularly grueling circumstances. Like being 500 feet underground and running out of food, fighting horrific monsters, surrounded by all kinds of unnameable awfulness, for instance. It turns out, being a dungeon delver is rather a rough job.

THE AFFLICTION SYSTEM: EVEN HEROES ARE HUMAN!

Stress is a central mechanic in Darkest Dungeon - everything your heroes see, do and have done to them affects their stress levels, both positively and negatively. Land a big...
