Will Hideo Kojima Sacrifice Quality for Multiplatform? 300°
322w ago - So we all know that Hideo Kojima will reveal his new project at E3 in June, and we're anxiously anticipating the unveiling.

However, it seems to be a commonly accepted theory that this new title will be made for both the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.

Historically, Kojima has always sided with Sony's brand but he has admitted that he'd like to see his studio appeal more to the Western masses, and considering that, it would make sense to include the 360 in their future plans.

But as we've said before that if a developer wishes to focus entirely on the...

322w ago - Crytek, the developer of Far Cry and Crysis, announced earlier this month that its in-development multiplatform game engine CryENGINE 3 would be shown off for the first time at Game Developers Conference 2009. Now it's GDC week and we've got an exclusive sneak peek at Crytek's CryENGINE 3 trailer.

According to Crytek, the trailer features both Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 footage.

The video is meant as a tech demo only, so the fact that it features nanosuit-clad soldiers from Crysis running around doesn't necessarily mean anything concrete.

331w ago - A Microsoft published title selling 1.6 million units in its first few weeks is a big deal. And when the title was Mass Effect, Bioware's massively anticipated space epic, the hype was only amplified.

It helped that the game warranted universal critical acclaim and along with Bioshock, Forza 2 and Halo 3 elevated the Xbox 360 to fame in 2007. Now, as Mass Effect 2 readies for a level walk-through at GDC '09, the rumors going around involves the series supposed multi-platform...

Insomniac's Ted Price Sees Benefits of Multiplatform Development 250°
341w ago - In a recent interview, Insomniac CEO Ted Price admitted that he sees the benefits in going multi-platform and breaking the company's exclusivity with Sony.

However, for now it seems as if the benefits of actually sticking with Sony slightly outweigh the benefits of parting, so don't expect any radical changes in the immediate future.

To quote: Of course, Insomniac has historically been a Sony mainstay. "For the last ten years or so, we have been working very closely with Sony," Price said.

"I mean, people ask me all the time, 'so, do you consider...

Mirror's Edge PC Dated, Multiplatform DLC Confirmed by EA Rep 100°
341w ago - Why EA would promise both PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 owners fresh DLC, when everybody knows that Mirror's Edge PS3 is getting the exclusive?

We asked our friendly neighborhood EA representative.

To quote: "It's downloadable content for both platforms," a spokesperson told GameCyte.

While PS3 might well have some token exclusive DLC (just look at how EA is handling Dead Space), DLC in and of itself will apparently not be exclusive.
