Video: PS3 Slim Laptop - Amazing PS3 Mod By Ben Heck 550°
October 1, 2009 // 7:33 pm - Ben Heck has outdone himself with the minimal clean design of his latest gaming mod- a PS3 Slim Laptop mod!

This laptop sees Sony's PS3 Slim stuffed into a monochromatic chassis with 17-inch Gateway 1775w LCD throwing a 1280 x 720 pixel resolution.
There's even space inside to tuck away the power cord when traveling.

The pinstriped result is nothing short of elegant, sporty even, especially when compared to his PS3 laptop from 2008.

Ben Heck's Latest Wonder Project: PS3 Laptop 500°
April 10, 2008 // 9:46 pm - Ben Heck put his skills to good use again in his latest project. This time he has turned a PS3 into a Laptop.

There aren't any details as of yet, only the picture shown below.

To quote: It looks like the PS3 is finally getting some hot mod love from console modding's reigning wizard, Ben Heck. We don't really have all the details since he hasn't announced the project yet, but the display looks like it's the one he used for the Xbox 360 Elite laptop, for a true 720p picture.

One laptop project loses partner (Intel) 100°
January 6, 2008 // 2:46 am - Intel has pulled out of a project to put cheap laptops in the hands of children in the developing world.

Citing "philosophical" differences, Intel has withdrawn its funding and technical help from the One Laptop Per Child (OLPC) project.

OLPC aimed to boost learning in poorer nations via a custom-built laptop intended to cost no more than $100.

Intel's withdrawal is a blow to OLPC which has found few nations willing to buy large numbers of laptops.

'$100 laptop' begins production 50°
November 9, 2007 // 12:23 am - Mass production of the so-called $100 laptop has begun, five years after the concept was first proposed.

Computer manufacturer Quanta has started building the low-cost laptops at a factory in Changshu, China.

One Laptop per Child (OLPC), the group behind the project, said that children in developing countries would begin receiving machines this month.

Last month, OLPC received its first official order for 100,000 machines from the government of Uruguay.

Uruguay buys first $100 laptops 50°
October 29, 2007 // 4:08 pm - The first official order for the so-called "$100 laptop" has been placed by the government of Uruguay. The South American country has bought 100,000 of the machines for schoolchildren aged six to 12.

A further 300,000 may be purchased to provide a machine for every child in the country by 2009.

The order will be a boost for the One Laptop per Child (OLPC) organisation behind the project which has admitted difficulties getting concrete orders.
