Quirky Puzzler King Oddball by 10Tons Ltd Hits PlayStation 3 Today

500°
4w ago - 10tons Ltd PR Coordinator Jaakko Maaniemi announced that their quirky puzzler King Oddball hits PlayStation 3 today!

To quote: Is it a bird? Is it a plane? No, it's King Oddball! The quirky physics puzzler that has charmed gamers on PS4 and Vita is making its way to PS3 today. It comes with a free trial, so you should really check it out!

As the title suggests, King Oddball is a bit weird. It's a physics-based puzzle game, but not like any you've played before. The gameplay is intensely skill based, and executed entirely with a single button. Here's how it works:

The titular King Oddball swings a rock with his tongue, back and forth, like a pendulum. When you hit X, the rock is released. The rock will carry whatever momentum it had at the exact moment you hit the button, so depending on your timing you'll get a mighty hurl or a delicate drop.

From then on it's all about the physics. Will you overshoot the tank? Will you just miss the helicopter? Your timing needs to be very, very good. And that only takes you through the levels where you have a couple of enemies to crush.

When there's a lot of enemies or structures to destroy, you need to layer in the puzzle part. You will get an extra rock if you squash three or more enemies with a single rock, or if you bounce...

Assassin's Creed III: The Tyranny of King Washington is Hitting PS3

50°
108w ago - Ubisoft Community Developer Gabriel Graziani has confirmed today that Assassin's Creed III: The Tyranny of King Washington will be hitting PS3 on February 19th, 2013.

To quote: A lot has changed in the world of Assassin's Creed III... with the introduction of our first single-player episodic DLC The Tyranny of King Washington this Tuesday, we figured we should reacquaint you with the hero you thought you knew.

In the shattered reality of The Tyranny of King Washington, the events that shaped a young Mohawk warrior into the heroic Connor of AC3 never happened, thrusting a confused Ratonhnhake:ton into a sometimes torturous, yet occasionally blissful, waking dream. Can he obliterate King Washington's demented reign?

To combat George Washington, the former champion of American freedom turned power-mad overlord, Ratonhnhake:ton will need to master new abilities:

• Power of the Bear - Fills Ratonhnhake:ton with the strength and fury of the mighty bear.
• Power of the Eagle - Delivers a burst of speed, empowering Ratonhnhake:ton with blinding agility.
• Power of the Wolf - Adopt the master camouflage of the wolf, rendering Ratonhnhake:ton undetectable.
• Warpaint - A symbol of power and courage enhancing Ratonhnhake:ton's abilities.
• Alpha...

1100°
167w ago - Although we agree with homebrew PS3 developers including KaKaRoToKS and CrashSerious on the True Blue dongle, it appears the first PS3 JailBreak 2 (JB2) dongle clone has now surfaced called the JB-King from China.

Based on the pictures below, the JB-King dongle looks similar to the P3Go GT Break Clone PS3 ModChip, but like TB allows playing 3.6x+ PlayStation 3 games on FW 3.55 from normal BD-R discs and from the PS3 HDD.

Video: The King of Fighters XIII Interview, Hits PS3 November 22

200°
174w ago - Sony Brazil PlayStation Manager Fabio Santana has posted up an interview today on The King of Fighters XIII, which will be hitting the PS3 on November 22, 2011.

To quote: We're truly living a fighting games renaissance. Ever since Street Fighter IV reignited the genre in 2009, we've been getting a number of interesting and diverse fight titles, ranging from the lush visuals of BlazBlue to the air combo extravaganza of Marvel Vs. Capcom 3.

Along the way, we had The King of Fighters XII from SNK Playmore, touted as a "re-birth" of the traditional 3-on-3 series. And although it really gave new life to the franchise with gorgeous hi-def 2D sprite art and sleek animation, the game delivered little in terms of contents.

Two years later, SNK Playmore is hard at work to regain the crown with The King of Fighters XIII for PS3 courtesy of Atlus in the US. And based on the prospects, 13 seems to be the lucky number for KOF.

The game was originally launched in Japanese arcades back in July 2010, being praised by fighting game connoisseurs for its vastly expanded roster (31 playable characters, including the return of fan favorite Mai Shiranui), revised fighting system...
