Videos: PS4 BD-J (Blu-ray Java) Homebrew Running on PlayStation 4 500°
23w ago - Similar to how PS3 Java Homebrew ran on Sony's PlayStation 3 console, today aries2k shared some videos of PS4 BD-J (Blu-ray Java) homebrew running on PlayStation 4 including BD J NES and BD J GB with details below.

This confirmation comes soon after PlayStation 4 developer SKFU released a Minimal PS4 BD-J SDK which is based on FreePlay's Minimal BD-J SDK for PS3.

From aries2k: Back in the day for the PS3, I couldn't even get the SDK compiled right. Lua is about the only thing I can code in, lol I'm going to have to leave the real coding for you Devs but I'm more than happy to test anything for anyone.

Ok, I couldn't find my camera so I had to use my vita for the videos. This is the NES BD-J emulator: BD J NES on the PS4

I just used this ISO from this...

Video: PS3 BD-J (Blu-ray Java) Running Through a BD-R Disc!

Video: PS3 BD-J (Blu-ray Java) Running Through a BD-R Disc! 550°
287w ago - Today DemonHades (linked above) posted a video from cupra4t on YouTube showing homebrew PS3 BD-J (Blu-ray Java) running through a BD-R disc on PS3 Firmware 2.80.

This is the first confirmation that PS3 BD-Java is still alive on the PS3 since it stopped working from USB in PS3 Firmware 2.50.

To quote, roughly translated: It appears that recording to any homebrew BD-R BD-Java, this can be run from any PS3 console from any firmware.

To make it work implements have to record the BDMV and CERTIFICATE folders in the root of the disk. PS3 to get it into the menu of [Video] we will bear in our BD and homebrew. I leave you a video:

From here it follows that only banned the BD-Java and the USB reader... with this, the Sony console is able to load emulators and homebrew games once again.

Google Chrome browser far faster says JavaScript benchmarks

Google Chrome browser far faster says JavaScript benchmarks 50°
339w ago - Google has been promising that one of the aims of its new Chrome browser is to make everything quicker. Well, a JavaScript benchmark test reveals that it wipes the floor with all the other browsers. JavaScript, is the programming language that powers Google Docs, Gmail, and many other Web applications.

To quote: Here's the site description of the speed tests:

• Richards: OS kernel simulation benchmark, originally written in BCPL by Martin Richards (539 lines).

• DeltaBlue: One-way constraint solver, originally written in Smalltalk by John Maloney and Mario Wolczko (880 lines).

• Crypto: Encryption and decryption benchmark based on code by Tom Wu (1,689 lines).

• RayTrace: Ray tracer benchmark based on code by Adam Burmister (3,418 lines).

• EarleyBoyer: Classic Scheme benchmarks, translated to JavaScript by Florian Loitsch's Scheme2Js compiler (4,682 lines).

A few notes: First, your mileage may vary; I ran these tests on my dual-core Windows XP machine.

Second, my apologies here to Opera, whose browser I don't have installed.

Third, I tried to run the SunSpider benchmark tests as well, but perhaps because a lot of other curious people had the same idea on the day Chrome launched, I couldn't get to...
