Video: PlayStation 4 Hardware Glitch, PS4 Discs Eject from Neon Light

1000°
4w ago - Today Start Replay & Happi Campers (linked above) shared a video on YouTube of a PlayStation 4 hardware glitch present where PS4 discs eject from neon light as can be seen below.

According to Dalibor Bartos on YouTube, this behavior is normal who stated the following, to quote:

"This is normal behavior. PS4 uses capacitive 'touch' buttons, and the neon light ionize the air around or the induction of the HF voltage emitting from the light has made the PS4 believe that the button was pressed.

It is not a glitch, it's just how things work."

However, according to yewwowduck on YouTube: "An unintended outcome of an implementation that is not otherwise desired is, definitively, a glitch."

At the time of this writing, Sony has yet to officially comment on the matter.

Katsu PS Vita PKG Install Glitch, Micro eMMC NAND Reader & Dual NAND

750°
16w ago - Following up on his previous update, today Sony PlayStation Vita hacker xmax katsu (twitter.com/xmaxkatsu) shared news of a Micro PS Vita eMMC NAND Reader, Dual NAND update, a PlayStation Vita PKG install glitch and more below!

Download: UX0APP.rar

To quote: This trick is done with Charles proxy.

  • First choose a game from your vita download list and begin downloading.
  • Stop it at about 1-2 MB.
  • Check the size from Charles proxy.
  • When the download is paused at charles proxy, remap the downloading pkg to another local pkg.
  • Resume the download.
  • The download will restart from beginning with the pkg file you chose.
  • It will write over the eboot file which was installed during the first pkg.

Your results may vary please try different psp pkgs and vita pkgs with this method, only pkg files with smaller size than the game you choose in the download list will install. I tried it with tiny hawk original eboot.pbp is 5.7 mb but it works even though i stopped it at 1.9 megabytes and probably there will be errors in next levels...

Rumor: Minecraft PS4, PS3, PS Vita Full Version Free Due to PSN Glitch?

650°
19w ago - According to rumors today, many users (mostly European) are reporting that they were able to download and play a Minecraft PS4, PS3 and PS Vita full version for free due to a PSN glitch.

Below are the details, to quote: "European PlayStation users are currently able to get their hands on the PS3 and PS Vita versions of Minecraft for the grand cost of…nothing!

However, it’s not an intentional giveaway by Sony, it seems to be a glitch within the online store. The glitch happens when you go to the PlayStation online store via a web browser and select the free demo and then continue to add the complete version to your cart, resulting in the full version going through as a sale when no money has changed hands.

I don’t think Sony will be best pleased to find people doing this, so do so at your own risk otherwise you may find your account suspended.

Microsoft recently purchased the studio behind Minecraft for a reported $2.5 billion dollars. It’s safe to say that the folks over at Microsoft HQ would not be all too happy with Sony giving away their most valuable product for nothing."

If anyone has tried this PlayStation Network glitch feel...

To quote: The XBox 360 reset glitch hack - Introduction / some important facts: tmbinc said it himself, software based approaches of running unsigned code on the 360 mostly don't work, it was designed to be secure from a software point of view.

The processor starts running code from ROM (1bl) , which then starts loading a RSA signed and RC4 crypted piece of code from NAND (CB).
