PS JailBreak Mod Code Sniffed via USB, Logged and Examined 1300°
247w ago - A few days ago PS JailBreak was reverse-engineered, and today Descrambler sniffed the USB traffic and shared the log.

I don't know that much about the USB protocol, but I think this is what happens:

• The PSJailbreak is inserted
• It connects with the host (PS3) and sends 09 02 12 00 01 00 00 80 + all the bytes from the first packet starting at 0008 up to 00EFF.

Federal Judge Rules BitTorrent Site IsoHunt Infringed Copyrights 650°
282w ago - U.S. District Court Judge Stephen Wilson has ruled that BitTorrent search engine IsoHunt, which is currently still operating, has infringed on copyrights by intentionally encouraging piracy.

To quote: "Evidence of defendants' intent to induce infringement is overwhelming and beyond reasonable dispute," wrote U.S. District Court Judge Stephen Wilson in the central district of California.

The ruling is at least the fourth major defeat for a peer-to-peer company since the courts shut down the original Napster in 2001. Four years later, the U.S. Supreme Court ruled...

The Federal Trade Commission is planning on holding a town hall meeting devoted to the subject of DRM on March 25.

The official page describes the meeting and its aim. "Digital rights management (DRM) refers to technologies typically used by hardware manufacturers, publishers, and copyright holders to attempt to control how consumers access...

Microsoft Rep on XBox 360 RROD Issue: They Fed Us to the Lions! 500°
340w ago - More than a week ago, GamingConfidential reported that a Microsoft customer service representative foresaw an outbreak of the Red Ring of Death (RROD) issue once the New Xbox Experience becomes available.

While most scoffed at the idea, the prediction held true and MS service lines are white hot with calls from angry customers.

"I hate what the company did this year," says the rep. "They released the New Xbox Experience a few days after the extended warranty period ended for most users and it's tough to explain that to raging callers. How do you say that MS just screwed...

America is Fed Up with Final Fantasy Sequels 200°
369w ago - For 18 years, Square Enix had steadily released Final Fantasy titles, each with unrelated stories and characters, more so sticking to the Final Fantasy name in at least a story line sense, while obviously ignoring it when referring to their own titles.

In 2003 this ended, as for the first time in the series long tenure, Square Enix developed an extension to Final Fantasy X, with Final Fantasy X-2.

The game, despite series' fans and critics calling out the game for it's dress sense, received good reviews and had extremely healthy sales all around the world. Square Enix...
