Below are some Tweets from KaKaRoToKS, as follows:

I've got some *great* news for homebrew devs! I've just ported Evas (from the EFL (Enlightenment Foundation Libraries)) to the ps3!!!

Have fun with the Expedite demo (a benchmarking tool for Evas with tons of tests). A bit slow but that's normal Enjoy!!

Edje (Layout engine) is already ported with Embryo+Lua. Next couple of days will be to port Elementary, a full widget toolkit.

Btw, Exepedite will do a printf on ethdebug and send the FPS for each test. It was fun playing with the PS3 again after so long!

GTA 4 Benchmark with Seven ATI and Nvidia Graphics Cards

50°
323w ago - Grand Theft Auto 4 caused a lot of problems on its launch: crashes during startup, the copy protection and the performance annoyed the customers.

By now Rockstar reacted and delivered a patch which fixes several bugs and also makes it possible to test several graphics cards without complications.

In order to keep the framerate at a moderate level we use maximal details, but restrict the draw distance to 50 percent - a value normally intended for cards with 1,024 MiByte VRAM. As our CPU benchmark review reveals, GTA 4 primarily needs a fast CPU.

To check the performance of the graphics cards we use our Promenade benchmark. It challenges the system with many passengers and heavy traffic as well as a huge range of visibility and is quite representative for GTA 4 because you spend a lot of time in the city.

Therefore we use a Quadcore Extreme QX6850 clocked to 3.33 GHz instead of the Core 2 Duo E8500 we usually use. The remaining components are a Intel chipset and 2x 2,048 MiByte DDR2-800 RAM and Windows Vista SP1.

Benchmark Proves PlayStation 3 is the Best Blu-ray Player

200°
325w ago - A benchmark test on Blu-ray players has recently been conducted by Blu-ray.com, and findings based on the results indicate that overall the PlayStation 3 is the best Blu-ray player out there.

It out performed all its competitors, and the fact that the PS3 doubles up as a game console makes it the best choice if you want a Blu-ray player.

To quote: The results were a bit surprising, to tell the truth, since they proved that actually, Sony's PS3 was pretty much THE best Blu-ray player out there, out-performing each and every one of its competitors in just about all of the tests mentioned above.

Add that to the extra functionality it provides and Sony's claims that the PS3 is all that one needs within one's home entertainment center don't seem that farfetched anymore, especially given the fact that the price tag of the PS3 is actually lower than those of many of its competitors from the test.
