1w ago - Sony Computer Entertainment Producer Masaaki Yamagiwa at Japan Studio shared a Bloodborne PS4 story trailer video today which hints at some of the game's dark secrets on PlayStation 4.

To quote: Today as part of IGN First we revealed our brand new story trailer for Bloodborne, the PS4-exclusive Action RPG from developers FromSoftware and SCE Japan Studio.

This trailer introduces some of the characters you'll meet along the way as you venture into the depths of the cursed city of Yharnam, and hints at some of the dark secrets waiting to be uncovered by brave hunters.

When we revealed the first 18 minutes of the game a few weeks ago, I introduced how the game starts with the player arriving in Yharnam and receiving a blood transfusion from a strange doctor, which ends up clouding his memory.

Is this all a dream? A nightmare? Where did all of the beasts come from? And what secrets does this Yharnam blood hold? Check out the trailer for just a small taste of the mysteries and horrors waiting for you in Bloodborne.

I'm extremely excited that Bloodborne is just about complete,...

Sony Goes Hands on with Dark Souls II for PS4 on PlayStation 4

3w ago - Sony Social Media Senior Manager Sid Shuman went hands on with Dark Souls II for PS4 today on PlayStation 4 with details below.

To quote: Dark Souls II: Scholar of the First Sin on PS4 adds the expected technical improvements, but also remixes core gameplay elements to give veterans a reason to dive back in.

The jump to PS4 has given developer FromSoftware an opportunity to paint a more pleasing picture. The native 1080p resolution, upgraded lighting effects, and cinematic filters give the game a richer, cleaner look compared to the PS3 version.

But the biggest improvement comes from the improved frame rate - 60 frames per second according to Bandai Namco representatives. The increased fluidity translates into more responsive movement and combat, a major advantage considering the game's famously unforgiving difficulty.

Then there are the gameplay adjustments. You won't be able to rely on your memory to cakewalk the PS4 game because some enemies and item locations have been changed. Enemies will follow you more tenaciously, even through fog gates - a terrifying, potentially ruinous side effect of PS4's expanded RAM pool.

Some weapons are also being tweaked. I noticed that the Fire Long Sword, a powerful early-game weapon that saved my butt countless times on...

TowerFall Dark World Expansion Coming Early 2015 to PlayStation 4

15w ago - Indie Game Developer Matt Makes Games Inc Matt Thorson confirmed today that their TowerFall Dark World Expansion is coming in early 2015 to PlayStation 4.

To quote: It's hard to believe that it's been 8 months since TowerFall Ascension launched on PS4. I have to thank all of our wonderful fans on PlayStation - the community response has been fantastic.

Since launching TowerFall, we've had countless requests for new levels, characters, power-ups, and modes. A lot of your suggestions have been really valuable, and after I recovered from the game's launch back in March, I began forming new ideas of my own. Slowly but surely, our plans for an expansion took shape. I'm excited to announce that the Dark World Expansion will hit PS4 in early 2015.

We want to call this an expansion rather than DLC, because it expands the game in every direction rather than providing small incremental additions. Approaching it this way allows us to tie all the new stuff together in a very cohesive manner. For you this means more playable archers, levels, modes, power-ups, variants, trials, and more.

Joining the roster we have the red archer, the Vainglorious Ghoul. As her appearance suggests, she captains an infamous ghost ship known as The Amaranth. The Amaranth, it turns out, is also one of four...
