March 8, 2012 // 4:57 pm - Following up on his PS Vita VHBL Motorstorm Arctic Edge hack from last week, today PlayStation Vita developer wololo has announced news of a new PSP exploit discovered by Xerpi with a demo video below!

To quote: I honestly stopped counting how many PSP "hello world" exploits in PSP games have been announced over the past months, but these exploits are getting a second life now that they symbolize a possibility for homebrews on the PS Vita.

This time it's scener Xerpi who found an exploit, which I haven't confirmed yet, but I should be able to give it a try sometimes this week. Will this lead to a VHBL port/release? First we need to make sure this game is actually available for the Vita. After that, only time will tell, but I'll do my best to help

Congrats, xerpi!

Note: Let me emphasize that I am aware of several psp game exploits being available, and releasing VHBL for them or not is basically up to their authors. I'm of course offering my help to port VHBL (although my free time is limited.

Porting VHBL is relatively easy, but even with some experience, from the exploit to the VHBL port it can easily take 30 hours, if you include debugging. That's not mentioning that each game usually comes in several versions.)

Another note: you might think, seeing all these videos of exploits, that finding exploits in psp games has become super easy. This is not entirely true. I am sure that my tutorials have made these things easier, but going from a crash to a hello world still requires lots of patience and dedication.

Video looks fake lol, you see it in action using this Exploit.. but then the screen fades back to home screen and what do we see ? it looks like a video preview. Then the user presses back on the preview and then the exploit looks like it replays again.

>mfw looks like a video running on a PSvita
>mfw i have no face

Following up on the previous PSP SaveGame exploit news, this weekend PlayStation Vita developer Zer01ne has Tweeted news of a new PSP game exploit that works on Firmware 6.60 and has also been confirmed working with Sony's new PS Vita handheld console as well!

Below is a video of it in action, and to quote from his Twitter updates:

New PSP Game exploit found (This time the game was not already used).

No plan for any HBL portage (We will see). http://pic.twitter.com/m5bUpwt7

I have broken my right arm, the VHBL portage will take time. I will try to do something on with my left arm.

The exploit works on Vita.. See video:

You're missing the point here - the earlier HW revisios with lower possible FW you'll have the higher chances are of having that particular unit hacked (earlier) - same like with PS3s or PSPs ...

Fun fact: PSP emulator is still having a lot of backdoors that are not patched.

Vita mode is also having some serious problems with me. When playing Unit13 the game stuck a lot of times on loading a save-game. Also when you eject the game and push the PS button it will start to blink. I cannot get it to work anymore. I let it run dry on battery but when i switch it on the PSVita still has black screen and a blinking PS button. So i guess we can do something with that. Time will tell... Unfortunately i cannot help because of the blinking PS button.

EDIT: Don't panic. To save the PlayStation Vita from the blinking blue light of death, hold the On/Off button located on the top of your Vita for about 30 seconds. Your Vita will boot into a debug menu where you can choose to start it up normally.

Oh ye. A memory card for crack our PSVITA, then restart your PSVITA, and every rip will work. But everytime you need this procedure again, PS3 dongle style. Cool future huh?

I pray what i described will be available soon. Seriously.

Hey there ! I just downloaded the Unit 13 demo (which took approximately 2h to complete), I disabled wifi after this of course, and the VHBL is still working

But if you don't want to take the risk, you can always turn off your wifi router, turn your PS Vita on and disable wifi on it (and remove your wifi settings too, just in case) and then turn your wifi router on again
