November 3, 2011 // 3:17 am - Following up on his initial release, today French PlayStation 3 developer Bobby6killer has updated his Another World PS3 homebrew game port to v1.01 and also released a game he calls REminiscence PS3 which reimplements the game Flashback from Delphine Software.

Download: REminiscence PS3 v1.00 (PKG) / REminiscence PS3 v1.00 (SDCell Version PKG) / REminiscence PS3 v1.00 (Source Code) / Another World PS3 v1.01 (PKG) / Another World PS3 v1.01 (SDCell Version PKG) / Another World v1.01 (Source Code)

To quote: REminiscence PS3

This project is based on the reverse engine made by Gregory Montoir, and reimplements the game Flashback, from Delphine Software, to be played on PS3. You need the original PC data files (DOS or CD), and optionnally:

  • the Amiga music modules.
  • VOICE.VCE file from SegaCD version to hear voice during in-game dialogues.

English, French, Spanish and German versions are supported.

REminiscence PS3 Changelog:

  • release 1.00 (2011/10/30)
  • first public release

  • Arrow keys => move Conrad
  • Cross => use the current inventory object
  • Circle => talk / use / run / shoot
  • Square => in/out gun
  • Triangle => quit the game
  • Select => display the options
  • Start => display the inventory / pass scenes
  • R1 => save game state
  • L1 => load game state
  • R2/L2 => change game state slot

Where should i place the original game files ?

Place them into /dev_hdd0/game/REMINIS00/USRDIR/data folder.

Delphine Software for this great game.

If you have a version distributed by SSI, you'll have to rename the files and drop the 'ssi' suffix (ie. logosssi.cmd -> logos.cmd).

Also, to hear background music during polygonal cutscenes with the PC version, you'll need to copy the .mod files of the Amiga version:

To hear voice during in-game dialogues, you'll need to copy the 'VOICE.VCE' file from the SegaCD version to the DATA directory.

Place them into /dev_hdd0/game/REMINISCENCE_00/data folder.

Another World (Out of This World) for PS3 Changelog:

Release 1.01 (2011/10/27)

  • change pad support
  • fix system crashes when leaving the game
  • fix crackling sound (sdcell version only)

  • Arrow keys => Allow you to move Lester
  • Cross => Allow you run/shoot with your gun
  • Select => allow to enter a code to jump at a specific level
  • Start => pause the game
  • Triangle => quit the game
  • R1 => save game state
  • L1 => load game state
  • R2/L2 => change game state slot

Where should i place the original game files ?

Place them into /dev_hdd0/game/NEWRAW_00/USRDIR/data folder.

What is sdcell version ?

Current release comes with Robo Hobo's sdcell version for better sound experience. This library is an other unofficial port of libSDL to PS3.

'make' is the command, what error are you getting but if you have an .exe you definitely have the wrong version
