May 28, 2010 // 7:55 pm - Update #2: PSN Download Manager (Booster / Proxy) v2.07 is available HERE with the changelog, followed shortly by PSN Download Manager (Booster / Proxy) v2.18 which includes more fixes.

Update: PSN Download Manager (Booster / Proxy) v1.92 is now available HERE to download, which contains some fixes as detailed, followed shortly by v1.97 HERE with more changes and a demonstration video below!

I didn't program most of PSN Download Manager (Booster / Proxy) v1.7 and only take credit for merging 3r1c's Proxy Server and MyDownloader to create an application which automatically intercepts the downloads without the hassle of copying the URL from the log into a download manager and then setting up a file redirect.

Download: PSN Download Manager (Booster / Proxy) v1.7

NOTE: My line only downloads at upto 175 Kilobytes, and usually without using this application, the PS3 only reaches around 30 - 40 Kilobytes.

- Built in Proxy Server
- Automatic Interception of PSN Downloads
- Segmented File Download's
- Pause and Resume File Transfers
- Download files while playing PS3 Games

Hope you enjoy, and watch your PSN Downloads fly...

Q: What was the purpose in Mashing the source code?

I wanted an application that could automatically download files from the PSN without copying and pasting the url from the log into a download manager, and finally selecting a file to replace a given url.

Q: How do i use this application?

1. Make sure .NET framework 3.5 or greater is installed.
2. Start Internal IP.bat
3. Write down your IP Address
4. Start your Playstation Console
5. Goto Network Settings and select Internet Connection Settings
6. Proceed with Custom Settings until Proxy Server
7. Choose Use and enter your IP Address, and port = 27
8. Save your changes by completing the wizard
9. Start the PSN DM.exe (NOT Proxy.exe)

Issues and Solutions:

Q: PS3 Downloads not showing in the GUI?

1. Close the application
2. Check for proxy.exe in processes with Windows Task Manager (End Process - If Any)
3. Make sure the path.txt file is in the executable path
4. Check destination folder in the path.txt exists
5. Confirm your proxy settings on the console

Q: When downloading from PSN it says "Please Wait" until error occurs?

1. Once it says "Please Wait" just press Circle and wait until download manager has finished.
2. Download the file from the PSN Again this will take the file from the PC Cache folder instead.

your app is the ultimate stuff i've been looking for... for months now

Thank you, kavechick

I suppose it doesn't need a replacement download manager; until the PS3 Games on Demand is added to the store, because they'll most likely be over 2GB.

I'll post the competition when that happens - 3D is mint, got it running on Wipeout with Samsung LED 46" 3D TV :P

Downloading PAIN to play in 3D Later, but Virgin Media capped my connection to 0.5 Meg and has gone from 20 Minutes to 5 - 6 hours Unfair FUP.

I guess to me it doesn't defeat the point of your application, around here we don't have super fast connections so if any of my friends needs a game i would use your application to transfer it after the purchase, your app is the ultimate stuff i've been looking for... for months now.

Use another download manager to download it then transfer it to psn dm download folder

While this method works, it defeats the point of the application; which was to automatically get the url and download it without user interaction.

I'll be posting a competition, to design a working download manager in C# or VB.NET with segments, pause and resume and what ever extras they want.

The best download manager will be included with my application and will receive many thanks; and a £5 PSN Voucher.

More details on this later got College in 5 minutes...

I've succeeded in creating more segments, but the Int32 issue still exists

If anyone is able to fix this, or has the knowledge and would like to attempt to, then send me a pm and I'll send you the source.

I'm struggling to find the time, as I'm finishing my College Course on IT Systems & Support and have still got to another 47 points in order to get the highest grade.

Only 2 weeks left, Yay

Hmm, I have an asian unit but I think its downloading from US servers (based on the location where its downloading files from on the manager). I'll try putting in US for the countries file and see what happens.

I'm using flashget to download it now, it keeps jumping back to 96 percent from 98.6 instead of completing at 100, i'm using a 60KBps server so thats like 10 hrs download im about to lose, any idea what i can do?

also you can use any download manager, then copy the file to the download folder of the psn dm.

I think it's caused by 32bit (default size) integers.

@Jordandyckes: can't you just replace the integers with int64/long64?

Thank you for the Idea, just given it a try and unfortunatly the exception doesn't throw however download still fails.

I'm stuck because i only merged 2 applications to perform a given task, and don't know 100% of how the Download Manager was written, I'm in progress of looking for a new download manager in C# because C++ is way to complex...

If anyone knows of a really good one, then i can port my existing script into it; because all it does, is check if file exists; else New Download and passes on Url.

You must be downloading from a Store other than the UK or USA? Make sure the country.txt is correct as this is the only thing that can cause this issue unless the file size is over 2GB.

It seems not to create more than 5 segments even when I changed it to 20...

It causes an Int32 error because the number of Bytes is too large, and I need to convert it into a more powerful download manager.
