237w ago - Last week we reported on some internal pictures of the PS3Key PS3 modchip, and today the official site (linked above) has been updated with a distributer and feature list alongside news of a release date and a PS3Key Teaser PKG Installer.

To quote: "Hello and welcome to the new PS3Key website! Stock of PS3Key is now on it's way to our official distributors, and we expect them to start selling PS3Key on Monday 20th September.

Some distributors may get stock before this, depending on shipping times. Please be patient with the shop you choose to buy from as demand for PS3Key is huge!"

PS3Key Feature List:

• USB Plug and Play solution that installs in seconds without any need to open up the PS3.
• Does not break your warranty seal.
• Compatible with all PS3 models, both Fat and Slim.
• Supports all regions: USA, JAP, PAL and KOREA.
• USB device fully updatable by PC.
• Disables forced software updates and will never brick your console.
• Supports most games and homebrew applications.
• Easy-to-use software for backing up, managing, and playing games from external USB Hard Drive.
• Playing games from HDD is much more enjoyable, benefiting from greatly enhanced seek and loading times.
• Supports installing homebrew application on PS3 and external USB media.
• Optionally PS3Key can be supplied with an "open" firmware which does not support backup loading. Users would then have to download a firmware update for PS3Key to get full functionality.

When you remove the USB dongle the PS3 is uncracked. When you wanna use it for homebrew or games on local harddisc the dongle must be in the PS3.

i bet you can backup to internal to maybe they found it more conveinant to write external xD

it depends on what chip there is in it, i bet it will be doable imho, as its capable of doing the JB (maybe some editing or similar), but i doubt they will theese guys have great reputation ^^

i pro ordered it to, going to pick it up tomorrow at the store

Would be nice to see ps3Key answering some questions:

"Easy-to-use software for backing up, managing, and playing games from external USB Hard Drive."

"Supports installing homebrew application on PS3 and external USB media."

I'm assuming you can use the internal hdd too for backups?

"Optionally PS3Key can be supplied with an "open" firmware which does not support backup loading. Users would then have to download a firmware update for PS3Key to get full functionality."

So if it comes to it, and PS3Key has let us down with no updates, can we use an open source firmware and put PSGroove on the PS3Key instead?

Otherwise I'd have pre-ordered already

I order ps3key yesterday from modchip central as their stock will arrive on or around September 21.

I'll give my feedback as soon as I receive mine

Im still waiting to see if these clones will be supported for very long by there official sites or if you will just be able to download the latest PSjailbreak/PSgroove software and updated easily through third party, or homebrew firmware...

none the less its good to see another company went with a small bare-bones design similar to the ps3 jailbreak...

All these clones do seem to be perfect clones as the description for all of them are identical to the original ps3jb. The only thing I'm interested in is whether or not they are going to be updateable to deal with Sony's inevitable blocking attempts.
