September 20, 2010 // 5:25 pm - Update: PS3 Timestamp Generator v1.1 is now available, which fixes a bug which valid numbers don't generate properly.

Over the weekend a guide was posted on how to Platinum any PS3 game instantly, and today I'm releasing my PS3 Timestamp Generator tool that allows you to generate timestamps for all of your hacked PlayStation 3 Trophies making you look more legit ever than before.

Download: PS3 Timestamp Generator v1

Note - I haven't tested this on a different platform yet. This was compiled with VS2010 (C#) and .NET Framework 3.5. So, please report me any bug you may have encountered.

Make sure you put correct numbers into the six text boxes, e.g.

2009 20 02 02 49 35

Don't put one digits, illegal numbers or non-numeric characters,
otherwise the program won't generate for you.

Once generated, copy the hex, open your TROPUSR.DAT with a hex editor and paste the hex underneath the line where it says a trophy ID. E.g:

0x21e0: 00 00 00 1C 00 00 00 01 00 01 10 00 00 00 00 00
0x21f0: 00 XX XX XX XX XX XX XX 00 XX XX XX XX XX XX XX

(1c is a trophy ID)

So paste your hex into these XXs (the first timestamp). Re-save it, overwrite it over your game's old TROPUSR.DAT via the FTP manager. Boot the game and ta-da!

(Note- each trophy ID has two separated timestamps, so I recommend using a newer hex (increased date/time) for the second timestamp.)

Well said Pcsx2006, as the saying goes: "You can please most of the people, most of the time, some of the people, some of the time, but none of the people all of the time."

I can see why people are hating this particular piece of homebrew, myself included! Some online trophies suck but that's why there are dedicated trophy websites out there with people like you that are wanting help with the online parts of games. So people should stop moaning about it and get online and find people in a similar situation as themselves. The help is out there, go find it!!!

reguardless, usually if the game had online and trophies... the game was DEAD online, long before you got the game...

this is all semantics really... No matter how you look at it, not every trophy was "planed that well"

lost planet 2 required 500 tasks to get the plat, 1 of which was geetting #1 on a leaderboard...
fight night allowed 1 person to stop anyone else from getting the plat
etc

their "Achievements" not "things you should be able to obtain without anything extra... This argument will get old but look though all the trophies... At some point theere will be a trophy/game which will require something you dont find fair...

lets look though some!

Spelunker: few people CURRENTLY play online, and you need 3 people to get 4 mural pieces, on 4 different area's. you can do this online or offline, but for offline you need 3 controllers, and the SKILL to get that far, or 3+ people onnline who want to help you...

so...

A) this is BS because the online isnt active enough to make this easy.
B) this is BS because you need 3 controllers

Littlebigplanet: some prize bubbles require several people, but a lot of people have lag like myself so...

A) I need up to 3 friends and 3 controllers, and they need the FREE TIME to help me at once get eevery prize bubble
B) I need an internet connection fast enough to get it

Shank: There is no online, only offline... so you need 2 controllers and either TONS of effort to do it, or a friend to help you beat the game.

Lost planet 2: Requires split screen cycle complete, so either you get another friend to help you, or you give up grenades to make it easier... either or you got to play though the game with 2 controllers, adn a lot of effort.

Pachi Para 15: Next to no one plays, so you need to boost it with all of the few people who're still playing.

Killzone 2: you need to have enough free time to put forth into the online to come in the top 1% that week, and or boost enough to come in first.

Fret Nice: requires a guitar

Street fighter IV/Super Street Fighter IV/Blazblue CS: in a lot of cases you will need a special controller to pull off enough of the combos to plat, this isnt a need, but I dont think ive heard of a person pulling Street Fighter off without a fight stick or fight pad.

etc... but if you limit it to games that dont have online... sooner or later every online game will go offline so why not hack them all? then hack every game that just uses time? honestly letting 1 thing go as acceptable will just lead to it being acceptable so its really all or nothing

How is that fair? I don't support the JB, I just like to keep up on it... but seriously how is that fair? lol just because you were a late adopter that entitles you to what you cant get? this is just what my post was about... people are gonna say "impossible"

things without online
things with tasks that cant be done like the belts in fight night
things like #1 in lost planet 2
things like matches in games where no one plays online

but in the end, you didn't earn it... Yeah it sucks that some trophies are time based, but sooner or later people stop playing anyways, and nothing says you picking it up 2 years later... doesn't mean you would get it.

It's funny how people are quick to complain about cheating, yet they have no problem with backups, etc. I say good job to Inaudax for the time and research he put into this.

And BTW, I can think of at least a couple good uses for this that doesn't involve cheating:

1) If Sony hands out bans for using the jailbreak on PSN, then when you recreate your account (and use a stealthed JB ) you'll be able to recreate your trophy collection.

2) If you buy a second PS3 which will only ever be offline running 3.41, then you can edit your trophies to match the ones already earned on your online PS3.

3) Some games have trophies which are impossible to get because online play is impossible (eg. servers are discontinued).
