175w ago - Following up on the previous releases, today I have updated the PS3 PKGView Extractor homebrew application for PC to version 1.0 followed by version 1.1 and version 1.1b which include bug fixes.

PkgView is a tool for extracting files from PS3 pkg. Tool is 100% legal it contains no Sony code. PkgView also has a graphical interface that simplifies the extraction of both individual files and the complete package.

Version 1.1

  • FIX: Fails to extract big files

Version 1.0

  • FIX: PARAM.SFO not appear.
  • FIX: Empty folders not appear.
  • Added support for retail pkg (thanks to the implementation of Mathieulh).
  • Now accepts pkg passed as parameter.
  • Added support for drag-Pkg to the application.
  • Added option to extract the source folder
  • Added extension association .Pkg
  • Added option Extract here in the context menu of Windows.

Following up on my previous releases, today a new PS3 PKGView Extractor homebrew application version 1.2 update is available and has been fully tested by catalinnc.

  • FIX: Structure parsing issues.

ifcaro thanks a lot for this tool... it has a little problem... it can't deal with +4gb files (.psarcs) inside +4gb .pkg... can you fix it?

here is a +4gb with a +4gb .psarc in it to test (GOW)...

Yes, I have tried v1.1, same error.

Actually I think the exception is actually at the start of the log:

The pkg is retail, which comes with Medal of Honor, and is 4.33GB!

You know that kind of pkg out that error? is a retail, debug, geohot's hybrid?

It is a large file? if so, have you tried the version 1.1?

When JIT debugging is enabled, any unhandled exception will be sent to the JIT debugger registered on the computer rather than be handled by this dialog box.
