238w ago - Today Spanish PS3 Dev DemonHades has leaked the Sony PS3 JIG ID Swapping Procedure Manual PDF file publicly for other scene developers to examine.

This news comes just over a month since the last Sony PS3 and Blu-ray Service Manuals leak surfaced.

Download: PS3 JIG ID Swapping Procedure Manual

To quote, roughly translated: Well I dedicate this information for some EOL aware of that are still believed themselves the lies that this is an exploit, when it really takes advantage of the technology of Sony and jigcard backdoor into the USB port and libusb.

Alert and has long behind it were several people including Mathieulh, Geohot and Richdevx and as you see all this coming out of their hands... this debate is what has led to the TeamHades was dissolved by doubting my statements and worst all that I crellesen my own colleagues and friends.

Here you have the PDF of JigCard so you can see with your own eyes have deceived you into believing it is an exploit, save data as the service mode to do this for chapters and no deliveries and so suspicious of them.

And since I already communicated that leaves DemonHades investigations; only engages me DHorg caring community (the people), help with problems and doubts keep the site up to date... but I withdraw from the research topic.

1saludo and thanks to that if I have believed and supported me and the rest to be happy with this BIG LIE."

Because it uses the exploit to patch files, they changed to location of the files in 3.42 so the patches don't work.

If the current hack is similar to the jig, would it not be possible to further improve it to gain more functions of the jig?

The "jailbreak" does EXPLOIT the jig system set by sony, but it does not do the sony's jig by any means. Sony's jig has it's own code that launches service mode that no other device can mimmick without a direct copy of it.

This is not going to happen, and if it does Sony will throw their team of lawyers to stop it and claim copyright infringement even if it was coded from someone's own source.

Do not under estimate the stupidity of sony and how much money that they will throw in any direction to make whatever happen that they want.

Sony is a lot like a mafia in all retrospects.

It seems the service mode jig is used on port #1, but the ID switching jig is on port #4.

I noticed that also, only because my CECHA01 will not boot at all if I plug the Teensy into #4 (it freezes on the logo screen).

It works fine in the other three. Must be some reason for this... something different about #4.

I wouldn't say 100%. Find something that Sony can't block and it's 100%.

But this hole opened the PS3 to start really spilling it's 'gut's' so to say.

PDF = very interesting reading, appears to show the flow sony service centers take.

Indicates that when you send in a failing/dead PS3 they have the ability to provide a clone of your original PS3 by ID Swapping with a referbished unit.

This is all kinda expected - the interesting thing is that they seem to log specific information about every PS3 on their servers (not really that unexpected) - but this PDF gives some indication as to what they actually log.

Not sure what exactly this brings to the table, but it clearly indicates a comms channel via the ethernet port as well as via USB.

Of course this could all be fake info - The PDF isn't anything special in the eye candy stakes - but the why would it be! If it's for internal use only (hehe) there isn't any need to produce a nice glossy manual is there!

Interesting reading anyway!
