November 18, 2013 // 3:44 pm - Today Vic let us know he released a PS3 Game (Rip-to-iSO) Mass Converter application for those interested followed by Psykosis JB to ISO Mass Conversion v0.03a, v0.8i and v0.32a from Klahjn and Nekrovert 4.66.00 PR1 (Public Release 1) by psykosis with details below.

Download: PS3 GAME RIP-TO-ISO MASS CONVERTER.zip / PS3 GAME RIP-TO-ISO MASS CONVERTER.zip (Mirror) / new mass convert.zip / psyConvert 32a LITE.zip / psyConvert 032a FULL.zip / psyConvert 035a.rar / IRD.zip / Nekrovert Installer PR1.exe / NekrovertXP.exe by psykosis

To quote via e-mail: Hi I created a little tool to help out converting all those fun game rips to iso form. This is my contribution back to the PS3 scene. Hope this helps everybody.

PS3 GAME (RIP-TO-ISO) MASS CONVERTER will convert all game rips in any game folder you drag and drop onto the CONVERT_TO_ISO.BAT file. It can also continue converting where you left off if suddenly you stop the program or your PC shuts off or whatever the scenario that may happen.

All options you select don't take place until you have a chance to review and finalize everything. What could of taken you a few days or longer to do manually can now possibly be done over night or a few hours.

From the included ReadMe file: PROGRAM AND ITS SOURCE CODE ARE FREE TO MODIFY AND USE UNDER THE GPL LICENSE. - Vic

IMPORTANT NOTE: (A LOT OF EFFORT WAS PUT INTO THE DESIGN AND TESTING OF THIS APP TO INSURE RESULTS BUT THE SAME APPLIES AS ALL OTHER APPS, USE OF THIS APP IS AT YOUR OWN RISK.)

*MAKE SURE TO UNZIP THE FOLDER TO YOUR DESKTOP AND IT IS NOT A FOLDER INSIDE OF ANOTHER FOLDER, IT SHOULD BE ONE SINGLE FOLDER WITH ALL FILES INSIDE.

  • Designed for windows 7, Not sure if it will run properly on any other windows systems.
  • Do not rename any files
  • Do not rename folder
  • PS3 GAME (RIP-TO-ISO) MASS Converter - folder must be placed on your Desktop in order to work.

HOW TO USE THE PROGRAM:

Simply put the PS3 GAME (RIP-TO-ISO) MASS Converter folder on your desktop and drag your game directory that holds all your PS3 rips on top of the CONVERT_TO_ISO.bat file and follow directions. If you need to stop the program at anytime for whatever reason just click close on the program box. Make sure not to forget to go into the directory after manually stopping the program and delete the partially generated iso file.

*ANY OPTIONS SELECTED WILL NOT TAKE EFFECT UNTIL YOU HAVE BEEN GIVEN A CHANCE TO REVIEW AND FINALIZE YOUR OPTIONS.

ANY ISO'S YOU MAY HAVE ALREADY IN A FOLDER WITH GAME RIPS WETHER GENERATED WITH THIS PROGRAM OR NOT WILL NOT BE GENERATED AGAIN IF YOU RUN THE PROGRAM AGAIN IT WILL SEE YOU HAVE THAT ISO ALREADY AND SKIP CREATING IT AND IF DELETE OPTION IS ON IT WILL ALSO SKIP THE DELETION OF THE GAME RIP FOLDER IF STILL AVAILABLE.

HOPE THIS MAKES THINGS EASIER FOR EVERYBODY. !!!BIG THANKS GOES TO TEAM COBRA!!!

From aldostools: Some advantages of ISO's:

1.) you can play games with files larger than 4GB from external HDD using split ISO files
2.) you can create an ISO with a PS3_EXTRA with multiple large PKG files to install from external HDD
3.) Large files are loaded/copied faster than several small files (less seek/open/close operations)
4.) you can stream ISOs from PC to your PS3 console(s) (wired network is suggested)
5.) It's easier to check the integrity of your game (eg. MD5 of a single file)
6.) ISO are easily created with mmCM / multiMAN
7.) ISO let you play PS2/PSX/PSP without conversion* (with compatibility issues with some games)

Some disadvantages of ISO's:

1.) ISOs are not compatible on non-Cobra CFW
2.) Modding of ISO require extract -> mod -> inject files or rebuild of ISO (eg. rip of files to save space usage)
3.) ISO require extra tools to open or create on PC

From Klahjn comes Psykosis JB to ISO Mass Conversion v0.03a with details below, as follows:

This is my modified version of the ps3 mass jbfolder to iso converter using genps3iso v2.4. I love the program, but wanted to make it faster for me, so I redesigned the UI.

Changes:

  • I changed it so the variables can be changed and the app isn't forced on the desktop.
  • I removed the error log, added the logo.
  • I modified all the variables so they can be edited at the beginning of the bat file
  • Most of the settings can be modified from the UI
  • If all settings are correctly set, the bypass can be run just by double click.
  • If correctly configured and combined with a scheduled task, this can be used to make an autoconvert folder.... ;D
  • I've added a "create games list" function.
  • Replaced all the pauses with timeouts so that there is no hiccup in program operation, and it can be completely automated
  • Changed the color of the console text
  • Changed name of title, program, variables.
  • Moved the code around, and removed a few sections.
  • Updated for genps3iso v2.4

I call it: psykosis JB to ISO Mass Conversion v0.03a

What I want to add:

  • Update script option
  • All variables able to be changed in UI
  • IRD scans
  • Auto IRD usage
  • Patching premade ISO
  • Updating genps3iso
  • Shortcut generation w/in batch (as an option in UI)
  • Save settings, Import/Export Settings from registry/ini (preferably with a switch so both can be implemented)
  • Auto generate scheduled task to make automated iso conversion

This is v0.3a of the script. I've made a couple before this. I've included a couple of the older versions as well as the original one I took it from. A link to the zip file is on my google drive new mass convert.zip (linked above). Let me know what you think?

Update: Changes- Update Mar/20/2014 (V0.8i)

  • Changed the UI Slightly
  • Automatic IRD usage, ird file has to be same name as jb folder for it to work currently
  • If IRD file isn't found, proceeds with normal conversion.
  • Removed .iso extension to game list
  • Fixed a small but for null entry at menu
  • Cleaned up the code a little bit
  • Added some comments for easier editing
  • Some hardcoded references changed to variables
  • Removal of code not being used or implemented (This is ongoing as dev goes on)
  • Minor Tweaks and Fixes
  • Version number changed (multiple runs/builds/changes puts version to 0.8i
  • Additional fixes for ascii typing
  • Changed console size to fit UI better
  • Changed some timeout variables to fine tune a bit.

Took me quite a bit. Had the option for dry run, but wasn't running properly. May add later. Important that ird files must have the same name as the folder you are converting (ie: C:\ird\warhawk.ird & C:\c2iso\warhawk will result in an ird generated C:\ps3iso\warhawk.iso) This provided you've set everything correctly. Hope you enjoy ~

Update #2: Changes- Update Mar/28/2014 (V0.32a)

I have a new update to add. Well two updates, but one was slightly buggy. It's now updated to version 0.32a. I'm currently working on some cobra ODE features such as generating the swap.iso and regenerating the boot iso.

There is a FULL and a LITE package now. FULL package has tons of IRD files and EBOOT files. LITE package removes these.

I'm thinking of splitting into a third option of MICRO which is basically just the batch and the minimum required exe files. If anyone has a voice on what should be in MICRO and what shouldn't, let me know. Debating switching to exe version of this.

Changes:

v0.35a

  • [Cosmetics] Moved a few items around to make things look nicer.
  • [Size] Moved IRD as separate package (if you have any i don't, donations are welcome for ird and eboots)
  • [Bugfix] User reported error with ird/delete sources, included experimental catch-all to prevent deletion in this scenario
  • [Beta Feature] Experimental splitfile support now supports up to 32 split files. assuming 1gb files apiece (give or take) this allows up to 32GB files...i'm not aware of any larger files than that, but at the time i'm trying to slim the code a bit.
  • [Cleanup] Removed a lot of unnecessary code and comments from testing.
  • [Size] Filesize shrunk to below 100k
  • [Size] Removed any unused tools to reduce size, improve speed.
  • [Cosmetic] Adjusted out pauses that were placed for debugging in 0.32a
  • Minor under the hood improvements, variable name changes, etc...

This was more just getting down into it and cleaning it up for future dev.

v.32a

  • Lots of bugs were introduced in v.23b, this release addresses them. adding in features from

v.26c

  • Pauses introduced to debug, weren't taken out. This has been corrected
  • Cleaner more consistent UI, even during processing..
  • Removal of extra comments, old UI, additional unneeded variables and menus
  • Changed variable names to be more friendly
  • Made batch file smaller, more efficient.
  • Added tools folder for future functionality

--~Note~ Website is currently down for maintenance/update/etc and could be cycled out.

v.26c

  • Internal Release
  • Included IRD & Eboot files in extra folder
  • -M- First glimpse at SDeath code
  • Going to use some of the same tools he uses in his, to provide functionality similar in mine.
  • Of note, most of the code is written in wscript shell format, passing lines to cli.. this is pure CLI
  • Also of note, I see no one offering complete bypass, offering auto-conversion folder via scheduled task at this moment.

v.23b

  • Third Public Release - Update
  • Switching Status to Beta (I'm using as main app)
  • UI Revamp again
  • Tweaks to main program, Changed around menu options
  • Changed shortcut keys and definitions
  • Add filejoin (experimental) for 666* files
  • Added Initial Color Changing Option
  • Added Changelog
  • Added website psyconvert2.uhostall.com/
  • Games List tweaks
  • Titlebar tweaks
  • Added Version number to script name to easily identify.
  • Minor tweaks. More to come

From psykosis comes an EasyInstaller PKG2ISO and PS3 Chatterbox (WIP) who states the following to quote:

Download: EasyInstaller PKG2ISO.exe

This is going to be integrated into an upcoming tool i'm working on (Codename: PsyConvert4) I thought i'd release it as a separate installer as well.

I'm learning as I go along with this. But its pretty easy. Click button. It'll ask you what folder your pkg files are in. It will ask you where you want your iso file. Sit back and enjoy a beverage, it will create a package installer disc.iso in whichever location you prefer.

This does not delete packages, etc. This will copy your packages to a temp directory, and create the iso and then remove all the stuff it used to create it in the temp folder.

Enjoy

PS3 Chatterbox (WIP)

Download: ChatterboxInstaller.msi

Chatterbox Description:

This program checks your ip address, and then scans all ipv4 networks you are attached to for ping responses. If the application gets a ping from the device, it then looks for a specific webpage (cpursx.ps3), If it finds this page, it saves the ip addresses of the ps3, as well as your ip address, On next launch, it detects this, and will load them.

Initial scan may take a few minutes, but play some ps3, it'll notify you when its found.

Explanation of the three buttons:

1. Find PS3: Explained above
2. Set. Clr: Will clear the ps3 and cpu settings so that you can rescan
3. Send message: Will send whatever message is in the textbox to your ps3

These are the only three buttons....

  • combobox displays all ipv4 addresses attached to your computer
  • middle listbox displays the current ps3 it found (or uses the listbox during operations to parse and scan)
  • Textbox at bottom is for entry. Limited to 120 characters. The max is 180 to display, beyond that, things get crazy

You can also hit enter after typing your message to send instead of clicking the send button.

There are probably some bugs. It may appear to "freeze" but it doesn't. It continues on, waiting for ping response. Just let it be.

I know its fairly slow, i'm actually working on a little faster one that does the scanning in the background (more responsive, faster).

The problem i'm having is with the actual validating that it is a ps3, which is where the thread sticks the form for a second. Currently that's the only issue on 1.1...want to resolve before release.

Also found shortcuts to be able to pull up diff webman pages for easy modification. More to come.

From No0bZiLLa comes a PS3 tool to make PKG files into iSO easily with details as follows:

Download: make_pkg_iso.zip / make_pkg_iso_GUI.zip

I created this tool just to learn tbh, it was not really intended to be released as there are other tools that do this in one way or another.

Anyways, This tool will scan an input folder for pkg files and will build an iso out of them! This works great for users that dont use webman or netsrv ect as the user can just copy the iso directly to the PS3ISO folder and loading it just like a game from XMB.

This tool also uses the pics inside of the pkg so it is easy for the user to tell the difference in their pkg files. The param.sfx is also edited per pkg file, and the title that shows on the xmb will be whatever the original name of the pkg file was.

Usage:

Open CMD in same directory or navigate to the exe. once your in the same directory type: make_pkg_iso "C:/path/to/your packages/" (be sure to quote the path to your packages if it)

It will output an iso in the original packages directory, all this tool needs is a nice little gui and it will be finished.

Update:

Made a very simple gui, just drag the folder that contains the pkgs into the gui and it will output an iso in the same folder with the pkgs.

I added a small gui to it, so all you have to do now is drag and drop the folder that contains the pkgs, and its all automated. outputs "Package iso.iso" into the same folder you dropped into the gui.

Finally, from PlayStation 3 developer psykosis comes Nekrovert 4.66.00 PR1 (Public Release 1 - linked above) with details below, as follows:

Nekrovert 4.66.00 PR1 (Public Release 1)

This is ready for first public release. *********.*** only. There may be a few bugs left to squash, but it runs pretty consistent. I've been using it steady with working iso/jb for quite a while.

Test features:

  • ODDE 3.5 patch/SPRX/SELF patch
  • JB Rip Cleanup (I haven't messed with the patterns much, they can be modified)
  • Several hidden tweaks and features, look to find
  • Check out changelog for more details

  • Checkboxes and settings now are in sync, and all settings retain in ui
  • Hex Test Patch now outsourced to Fixelf.exe

Extraction Utilities:

  • 7zip (skipping files during conflict)
  • Estwald(Hermes) (overwriting files during conflict)

Fixes from 4C:

  • Removed Messagebox from Extract Single ISO
  • Updated the about section, upping n00bs place in the roster
  • Changed font in about section to make more readable.

  • Serial JBRip (performs all options: Bkp\Dec\Patch\Enc\Param\Cln\GenISO\dlt Rip)
  • Fully Patch ISO (Combines Serial ISO & Serial JBRip)

New Frameworks:

  • App can find all sprx files, populates a list of them (for future processing)
  • Error Handling\Correction: App now can identify and notify you of the following issues: Eboot was not decrypted (EBOOT.ELF was not found), Eboot was not encrypted (EBOOT.BIN not found)(copies original back), Extract verifies folder exists after extraction and notifies, Generate will not generate an iso if PS3_GAME folder not present, Delete JBRIP will not delete if ISO doesn't exist, Delete ISO will not delete if JBrip doesn't exist
  • Now implemented filesize of iso files and folder sizes

Following up on the PS3 Game (Rip-to-iSO) Mass Converter application, today PlayStation 3 developer mcscruff has made available a GenPS3 Mass iSO GUI for PS3 Custom Firmware (CFW) users with details below followed by a PS3 ISO TOOLS pack by Rudi Rastelli.

Download: GenPS3 - Mass.exe / PS3_ISO_TOOLS.rar

To quote: Hi all, I have made a quick front end for genps3iso that lets you Que up your folders with or without IRD's (NO VERSION 9 SUPPORT) and makes the iso's.

WHY MAKE THIS SHT APP!?

Bored mostly but i had 3 games i wanted to make and i also wanted to go to the pub..., my drinking habit had to be put on hold for 10 minutes while i set it up, let it finish then set up the next.. where as i could have gone out and let it run..

There is bugs in there but it does work (a bit) , if you like it but want extra things in it just ask.

Tested on Windows 7

Just put the GenPS3-Mass.exe in the same directory as genps3iso. Thanks to the cobra team for their tool that does all the work.

Finally, in related news today PlayStation 3 developer Rudi Rastelli has made available PS3 ISO TOOLS, which are four handy GUI Tools for Batch Generation and Handling of PS3 iSOs with details as follows:

PS3 ISO TOOLS - 4 handy gui-tools for batch generation and handling of PS3-ISOs

Download: PS3_ISO_TOOLS.rar

These are 4 Tools I've made for handling my PS3-ISOs. Now I would like to share them. May be someone else will find them useful as well. Not extensively tested, but worked for my whole archive without a problem. So should be stable enough.

1. PS3 ISO GENERATOR

Creates single or splittet ISO(s) from either a single PS3-Game or a whole PS3-Game-Archive in folder-format
Optional: hides splittet ISO-parts("*.iso.1", "*.iso.2", etc) in windows explorer
Optional: deletes PS3-Game in folder-format after conversion.
Optional: renames generated ISOs like "[Game Name] [Game ID].iso". (Special characters will be removed)
Optional: Updates game name list*
Extracts "PARAM.SFO" and "ICON0.PNG" as "[Game Name].SFO" and "[Game Name].PNG" for use in webMANs "/dev_hdd0/tmp/wmtmp/"-directory

2. PS3 ISO RENAMER

Batch Renames ISOs like "[Game Name] [Game ID].iso". Renames "*.SFO" and "*.PNG" as well. (Special characters will be removed)
Optional: hides/shows splittet ISO-parts("*.iso.1", "*.iso.2", etc) in windows explorer
Optional: Updates game name list*

3. PS3 ISO JOINER

Batch joins splittet ISOs to single ISOs
Optional: deletes splittet PS3-ISOs after joining

4. PS3 ISO SPLITTER

Batch splits single ISOs to splittet ISOs 4 use on a FAT32-formatted harddrive
Optional: deletes single PS3-ISOs after splitting

How To's in english and german are included in the download.

*Game names are taken from the list i've found at aldostools site (aldostools : Hope it's ok that i've used that list !?)

Credits:

  • aldostools for game list
  • Team cobra for genps3iso
  • masa 3108 for testing

this is good for converting ps3 game folders back to iso format along with other tools as stated but i have been recompiling iso's using iso tools and ird's to play on new ntfs manager which is more useful for cfw users

Yes there is boss like running games on rogero hybrid and running iso form external server , and single iso file is faster to transfer that thousands to fat32

This is useful if you only have a small hard drive on your PS3 and have all your games on a windows PC, because you can play ISO's directly from your network rather than copying them to your PS3's HD thanks to the recent dongle incorporated firmware

For use with the for-profit ODE devices is my guess. For the rest of the PS3 scene on PS3 CFW, there isn't much point in converting them I imagine.

Sry for my ignorance but.. whats the point in converting a rip to ISO?? o_O
