89w ago - Following up on his previous revision, today PlayStation 3 developer wborland0 has updated PS3 Game List Manager to version v2.3 for Windows x64 alongside Linux and MAC users with the changes below.

Download: PS3 Game List v2.3 Manager for Windows / PS3 Game List v2.3 Manager for Linux / PS3 Game List v2.3 Manager for MAC

To quote from his blog: Another application update, bringing PS3 Game List to v2.3. The main highlight is the support for PSARC archive extraction. The feature was lingering over the request list for a long time, and it is finally implemented. Users can retire other extracting apps from their library, as PS3GL extracts data even faster than Sony’s official implementation!

Also, there is a new trophy tab, for those interested in learning all about the selected game’s challenges (trophy ID, type, name, detail, hidden status and avatar). Trophy information will be loaded according to the language selected by the user, and can be extracted as well.

Additionally, Linux and MacOS ports for v2.3 are provided, just like old times, although I cannot really guarantee future support. A whole lot of work and much underappreciation from the users, even for the Windows version.

Anyways, feel free to suggest something new, and, if you happen to find any bugs, please report them as well.

PS3 Game List change-log and features:

v2.3

  • Support for PSARC (compressed files used to store game resources like textures, audio and video data) archive extraction;
  • New tab to display trophy info (trophy type, name, detail and hidden status will be loaded according to the selected language; line selection will trigger a smooth blend animation between trophy avatars);
  • Option to extract trophy data as well;
  • Slight improvement in load speed;
  • PSN games can now be imported from CSV/Excel;
  • Fixed issue while trying to clear the loaded list;
  • Fixed v2.2 translation issue.

Today wborland0 has updated PS3 Game List Manager / Updater to version 1.9 with the changelog detailed below, as follows:

Download: PS3 Game List v1.9 - PlayStation 3 Game Manager / Updater

To quote: Another PS3 Game List release, bringing it to v1.9. The idea was to improve application usability, based upon the feedback provided by the users.

The Linux and Mac versions are behind schedule; the OSX lib issue is taking longer than I anticipated (and having a virtualized environment doesn’t speed things up either). Hopefully, they will be released soon.

As usual, feel free to suggest something new, and, if you happen to find any bugs, please report them as well.

PS3 Game List change-log and features:

PlayStation 3 Game List Manager / Updater v1.9:

  • Allows users to hide the extra frames (avatar, video resolution and audio) in order to gain horizontal space and better display standard game info;
  • Downloaded updates will be prefixed with targeted PS3 system version (e.g. 02.4000_UP9000-BCUS98103_00-UNCHARTEDDF1SCEA-A0110-V0101-PE.pkg);
  • Additional language support: Spanish;
  • Fixed issue while joinning files from multiple folders.

PS3 Game List Quick Guide v1.9:

  • “Game folder”: loads the game info stored at the selected folder/directory (select the folder that holds all data, not the individual game folders);
  • “Import list from Excel file”: loads a list of previously saved games from an excel file;
  • “Export…”: displays the list exporting options (“Export as text file” – exports/saves your game list as a text file; “Export as Excel file” – exports/saves your game list as a Microsoft Excel file);
  • “Clear list”: clears all the data loaded;
  • “Save changes”: saves all the changes made to the PARAM.SFO files and folders (double click or press F2 to alter game title, firmware or folder name; check the resolution and audio boxes to alter them);
  • “Rename folders…”: displays the folder renaming options (“Rename folders (ID)” – renames all folders to match the game ID (e.g. BCUS98114); “Rename folders (Title)” – renames all folders to match the game title (e.g. “Gran Turismo 5″ ); “Rename folders (ID+Title)”: renames all folders to ID-[Title]; “Rename folders (user defined)”: renames all folders to a format specified by the user using the tags _ID_ and _TITLE_);
  • “Replace image…”: displays image replacing options (“Replace avatar” – replaces game avatar with a custom image. The image will be scaled to 320x176; “Replace background image” – replaces background image with a custom image. The image will be scaled to 1920x1080);
  • “Browse game folder”: opens an “explorer.exe” window pointing to the selected game folder;
  • “Spit/Join…”: splits files over 4GB into fragments for FAT32 compatibility (or joins fragments back together);
  • “Disk status”: displays a chart of disk usage;
  • “Check for updates”: checks whether the loaded games have updates available;
  • “Download updates”: adds all checked updates to the queue and starts/resumes the download process (allowing simultaneous downloads; starting from version 1.9, all downloaded updates will be prefixed with the targeted PS3 system version);
  • “Stops downloads”: interrupts the download process; partial downloads can be resumed at a later time;
  • “Select all/none”: selects/deselects all updates;
  • “Settings”: opens up the application configuration dialog;
  • “General (Settings)”: configures game folder depth (up to 10 levels; e.g. “Z:\GAMEZ\Gran Turismo 5\BCUS98114\” instead of “Z:\GAMEZ\BCUS98114\” ), enables loading from multiple game folders, enables the creation of image backup, enables iconic representation of flag items, enables Unicode support for game titles, sets file deletion option for split/merge operation and sets the default download folder);
  • “Proxy (Settings)”: proxy configuration (HTTP/SOCKS 5 supported);
  • “FTP”: the FTP tab allows the user to connect to a server (or a PS3 running one); right click on an item to display the available options (download, delete, rename or load game information). In order to upload a game, connect to a server and navigate to the destination folder. Then, go to the “Game info” tab and right click on the game to display the context menu. Select “Upload (FTP)” to upload the game to the destination folder.

I don't have to use like 5 programs to split games or transfer them to my PS3 using FTP. This program does it all.

Following up on his previous release, this weekend wborland0 has updated his PlayStation 3 Game Manager / Updater called PS3 Game List to version 1.8 with the following changes:

Download: PS3 Game List v1.8 - PlayStation 3 Game Manager / Updater

PS3 Game List v1.8 - PlayStation 3 Game Manager / Updater Changelog:

Another small update after a hiatus, bringing PS3 Game List to v1.8. This version main focus is sorting all the issues reported by the Snow Leopard, Lion and Linux users. This kind of matter usually arises when you try a multi-platform approach. Hopefully, all the issues will be sorted out when the respective versions are released (soon).

As usual, feel free to suggest something new, and, if you happen to find any bugs, please report them as well.

PS3 Game List change-log and features:

v1.8

  • Splits files over 4GB using .666xx fragments for FAT32 compatibility (a file named "filename.ext" will be split as "filename.ext.66600″, "filename.ext.66601″, etc.);
  • Joins file fragments back into the original file (joining will not be performed if the volume format is FAT32 ; configuration via settings dialog);
  • Updates will be queued again after a hash test fail (requested feature);
  • Fixed drive usage info for Japanese text;
  • Fixed minor French translation issues.

Great program now my default, just noticed one issue, games updating seems to stick at 50% for some games or just freeze at random points, so never sure if an update is fully downloaded or not.

This weekend wborland0 has updated his PlayStation 3 Game Manager / Updater dubbed PS3 Game List to version 1.7 with the following changes, to quote:

Download: PS3 Game List v1.7

Another update, bringing PS3 Game List to v1.7; the engine underwent improvements to better accommodate the requested features. Download resuming, full Unicode support and info on external loading are some of the new functionality.

As usual, feel free to suggest something new, and, if you happen to find any bugs, please report them as well. Due to the new column layout, the Excel worksheets must be created again before being imported.

PS3 Game List change-log and features v1.7:

  • Allows multiple simultaneous downloads (configuration via settings dialog);
  • Supports download pausing/resuming;
  • Displays download speed;
  • Allows users to indicate whether a game loads from the external hard disk or not (double click on the correspondent cell to select the desired value, the info will be stored at ‘external.txt’ when the save action is performed; the file can be manually edited, the format is [GAME_ID] CODE, where CODE can be 0 (Not Tested), 1 (Not Working) or 2 (Working); e.g. BCUS98114 0);
  • Full Unicode support (UTF-8) (configuration via settings dialog; by enabling Unicode, the application will render non-Latin characters used in western languages, special symbols, etc.; text will be rendered using ISO-8859-1(Latin-1)/Windows-1252 otherwise);
  • Displays check items (flags) as icons (configuration via settings dialog);
  • Indicates whether a game update has been downloaded (partially or in full);
  • Overwrite confirmation is no longer asked (the package SHA1sum is checked instead; if the hash test fails, the update will be added to the download queue);
  • Additional language support: Japanese;
  • Fixed _TITLE_/_ID_ order issue (custom rename);
  • Fixed image loading issue after folder renaming;
  • Fixed drive usage info;
  • Updated German text (thanks to Whynot for the correct translation).

Here is a PS3 Game List Mac version for those interested: ps3gamelist.wordpress.com/2011/05/15/ps3-game-list-%E2%80%93-mac/

Download: PS3 Game List for Mac

To quote: For the Mac fans, the initial OSX port of PS3 Game List is here. As the Linux port, it is based upon v1.6, and it implements most of the Windows version features (minus the platform specific functionality). Mac OS X 10.5 or up is required, so is OpenSSL (OSX ships with a slightly outdated version, but it should work; feel free to update to the latest release, though) and the Qt lib (the download link includes base files).

As usual, feel free to suggest something new, and, if you happen to find any bugs, please report them as well.

Here is a PS3 Game List Linux version for those interested as well: ps3gamelist.wordpress.com/2011/05/09/ps3-game-list-linux/

Download: PS3 Game List Linux

To quote: The initial Linux port of PS3 Game List is finally here. Based upon v1.6, it implements most of the Windows version features (minus the platform specific functionality). The OpenSSL package is required (download the correspondent version for your release), and so is the Qt lib (the download link includes base files).

As usual, feel free to suggest something new, and, if you happen to find any bugs, please report them as well. If there is enough demand, there may be ports for other operating systems as well.
