Sponsored Links
231w ago - Today blackb0x, the same team that released the LV2 Dumper, has now released their PS3 FTP Server v1.0b followed by version 1.1 with a changelog HERE and version 1.2 with the changes detailed HERE!

Download: PS3 FTP Server v1.0b / PS3 FTP Server v1.1 / PS3 FTP Server v1.2

To quote from PSGroove: "I have just tested this and it is stable, bug free, and FAST (11MB/sec for me). Also thanks blackb0x for the shout out, it seems our site is becoming quite popular "

PlayStation 3 FTP Server 1.0b:

Well since no one has released a bug free, speedy, easy to use FTP server we decided to take the reigns on it. Introducing FTP Server 1.0b, it doesn't crash, it doesn't byte shift, and most importantly, it doesn't suck. Oh, and its threaded for speedy transfers

Instructions:

Install the pkg to your ps3 (you should know how to do this by now) then run blackb0x FTP. You can now connect to your PS3 via the PC FTP client of your choice. Just fill in your PS3′s ip, port 21, and leave username, and password blank. To quit the app either press X, or quit via ingame XMB.

Tested with FileZilla, FlashFXp, CuteFTP, and WinSCP.

Expect more tools from us in the future for the PS3.

hi, i have my ps3 jailbreaked with a pcb board i made with a pic chip i programmed with my willem. I have put the installer on and i managed to get the manager on aswell then i installed this ftp program. But stupidly i think i have deleted some stuff out of my game folder on my hard drive or my laun1234 folder and now when i look at the ftp program on my ps3 it has a black silverish folder instead of the real icon.

It is the same as this with the manager as well now and some of my save folders can anyone tell me how to fix this please as i don't know what to do.

Can i uninstall the ftp program and install it again and the same with the manager program and if not what would happen if i formatted my hard drive its only my 40gb internal one but if i did so would it ask for a me to put a update in or does it just do that with new drives. And if i have to put a update in can i just put the 3.41 in or would it have to be higher more newer one.

Also a thing i'm not sure about when i try games is i know i haven't to update the firmware as i click on cancel for that but what do i do when it says it has newer software version like 1.01 for the game am i meant to install this and if so how high can i go.

The problem lies in the most part with the access speed of your harddrive. Large files are usually contiguous and therefore allow the harddrive to spin faster/longuer whereas small files are spread accross the HD which makes the access time longer.

Furthermore everytime a new file is sent a new request is made with the server which takes up time.

Lastly Even large files start with slow upload speed very early on in the transfer... since the smaller files only take a split second to transfer, this means that they never get the chance to speed up!

Thanks for the explanation. I thought I was missing a setting in Filezilla somewhere.

I'm using blackbox 1.1b, Filezilla (on win7 x64) with active transfer setting and maximum connections set to 1, PSGroove 1.1, Open Manager 1.13. I have only transferred two games so far. Both were successful but Demon's Soul was the game that gave me the above problem.

Blackb0x FTP Server 1.2 Released, to quote via PSGroove:

blackb0x is at it again. This time releasing an update to their popular FTP Server, version 1.2. The latest version promises more stability with the Filezilla client, which should be music to some users ears.
Changelog:

1.2)
- Fixed auto-exiting when using the PS3 Remote Control instead of a gampad.
- Removed leading "/" from roots
- fixed multiple transfer connection issues for filezilla. More then 1 transfer connection at a time should work.
- Fixed misreported file size for files over 4gb.

I have also updated the first post with it now.

Thnx, Blackb0x, it's a wonderful tool! But something went wrong between v1.0b and 1.1: 1.1 is cool 'cause it can delete, rename, etc. And because it shows your ip and saves screen But it gives me lots of problems when I try to upload files PC->Internal.

So now I use 1.1 almost all the time, but when I have to copy something to internal, I change it to 1.0b everytime.. Plz, fix it and all will be wonderful Thanks again!

why is there no clue in the nfo to where to copy the files intended? Is it the same dir for all games independable to the method of JB-ing your PS? Is it dev_hdd0/ game/LAUN12345/GAMEZ/[Your game here] as I've read?

Anyone class, class anyone?

nope... just some sort of compatibility issue. I switched back to 1.0b and all is well again. I'm staying with this version.
