ProgSkeet PS3 Hardware Flasher Project is Announced

Sponsored Links
193w ago - Today PlayStation 3 developer uf6667 has Tweeted news announcing a new PS3 hardware flasher project called ProgSkeet produced by Oscar Dalvit.

Currently the official site ProgSkeet.com doesn't offer any details beyond the ProgSkeet PS3 Install Diagrams and ProgSkeet Multi-Console Install Diagrams, however, he did provide some pictures (below, with high-res HERE) of the ProgSkeet device and the ProgSkeet Drivers, ProgSkeet Flasher Software and ProgSkeet Flasher Software Update followed by some more updates in THIS ongoing Forum thread.

Based on them, ProgSkeet appears to utilize an Actel A3P125 IC (datasheet HERE) which is common among modchips due to its security, and offers enough address lines for at least 2 (if not more) NANDs with 16 general purpose lines and boasts 125,000 system gates with 133 maximum user I/O lines. It also offers JTAG pads, presumably used for programming the device.

Upon completion, ProgSkeet will allow users to downgrade and jailbreak their PS3 similar to the Infectus Mod along with backing up and reflashing the console's memory.

More details will be posted as they become available on the ProgSkeet project, with a video now posted below and a ProgSkeet Review for those interested.

There are new flashes made for the progskeet and are released.

Let me see if I can find them. I think that I have them on my computer at home. I will be around it in a few. I will post up what I got. I don't use the 1.2 or the 1.21 because they are crap. If I were you I would find a 1.1 and get it. I will post up what I got. Thanks.

Okay try this one. This has the new winskeet on it and it also has the new bitstream in it as well. thanks and let me know how it works.

Hi.

I try to flash a PS3 with a nor Samsung K8Q. My flasher is a progskeet 1.21. I used Winskeet 130721_0313 and the bistream ProgSkeet_12_130720_1716.

I have a valid dump realised with this configuration, but i can't flash anything. When I try to erase the nor, only the first half of the nor is erased, the second half give errors.

When I try to flash, nothing is made (stop at adresse #00000).

Is it possible to flash this nor with a progskeet 1.21 ? What winskeet is recommended ?

Thanks for any help.

I have Progskeet 1.21 and want to know if NOR clips actually work or not, I've heard very mixed things

Unmodified = Always fails on writing
Unmodified = Will burn out
Modified = Safe to read, but still will not write
Modified = Works perfectly with reading and writing

I just want to know which of these is true, has anyone sucessfully used a NOR clip?

kadorna1 you freaking rock i'm using paste and i think i might have used too much. i'll try fixing again when i get up. i've heard i could (if i was so inclined to) solder strait to the chips legs. you know anything bout this?

are you using liquid or paste flux? liquid is better if you apply with a brush, paste is kind of hard to work with, you can accidentally apply too much and the solder won't stick
