242w ago - Today I share with everyone what I call nXMB, it allows you to patch Dev_Flash for PS1 games and PS2 games if your PS3 is backwards-compatible (has 4 USB ports) in PS3 JailBreak Mode!

Download: nXMB Dev_Flash Patch for PS3

What is nXMB?

nXMB is a tool that patches your dev_flash to play PS1 Games (PS2 games also work if you have a bc-console) in JB Mode.

How to use nXMB? And What are its requirements?

Requirements:

• PS3 that is JailBroken
• DEV_FLASH from your PS3
• JaiCraB's Firm Loader v0.3

Step 1: Connect via FTP and get your dev_flash
Step 2: Move your dev_flash and the nXMB into a new folder (NOT THE CONTENTS, BUT THE DEV_FLASH ITSELF).
Step 3: Open nXMB and let it patch your dev_flash
Step 4: Copy the contents of that dev_flash to your USB Flash Disk
Step 5: Launch USB Firm Loader

The PS3 will mount your USB flash disk as dev_flash

You will NOT see "Install Package Files" but instead of that you will be able to boot PS1/PS2 games and you will have access to your memory cards!

If you wish to view my old thread that led to this app it is located HERE. Currently trying to make 'Install Package Files' also appear in nXMB!

Have Fun!

How do I use this tool? I did everything right, but it's just making my CPU working like hell... I put the nXMB and the "dev_flash" into a folder, executed nXMB and nothing else happened.

i'm not sure that will work since the HARDWARE was different on most BC units... they had the Emotion Engine & Graphic Syntetizer (US/JAP) and as for Europe model 60GB it has the Graphic Syntetizer only...

But who knows if we could add some emulation someday into other models...

this always comes handy: edepot.com/playstation3.html#TOC

Jes03, No, The Launch 20GB and 60GB Model had PS2 emulation via ps2 hardware.

After that there was an 80GB Model that had partial-hardware emulation.

There is a nice PS2 backup launcher already for PS3's with BC. I use to use it when I had my 60GB PS3.

yeah but you need swap disc... i think... here's hoping this way will able backups to be loaded same way as ps3.

i got 60gb here and hoping for a solution shortly.. thanks

That's awesome news, it can't test it cause my CECHP01 doesn't have backward compatibility, but good work so far, maybe in the future we can play PS1/PS2 on newer models.

Using .net framework 3.5 helped.

The Patch does only changes to 1 file:

dev_flash\vsh\resource\explore\xmb\category_game_tool2.xml
