March 24, 2013 // 11:56 pm - Today PlayStation 3 developer deank has released multiMAN v04.30.00 which now includes support for loading PS2 Classics among the changes outlined below.

Download: multiMAN v04.30.00 Base (20130324).zip (115 MB) / multiMAN v04.30.00 Update (20130324).zip (Includes CEX, DEX and STEALTH updates - 19 MB) / multiMAN v04.30.00 Update (20130324).zip (Mirror) / Showtime 04.03.100 [CEX].pkg (5.67 MB) / Showtime 04.03.100 [DEX].pkg (5.74 MB) / LANG_CZ.TXT by varinek / LANG_DE.TXT by sinsizer

MultiMAN v04.30.00 Changelog:

  • Added support for various 4.40CFWs
  • Added support for loading PS2 Classics (from /dev_hdd0/PS2ISO) (thanks flatz & ing.pereira)

multiMAN ver 04.30.00 BASE (20130324) Includes:

  • multiMAN ver 04.30.00 BASE CEX (20130324).pkg
  • multiMAN ver 04.30.00 BASE DEX (20130324).pkg
  • multiMAN ver 04.30.00 BASE STEALTH (20130324).zip
  • Showtime 04.03.100 [CEX].pkg
  • Showtime 04.03.100 [DEX].pkg

Also available online and in the WEB column for those who want to test PS2 Classics. What I added to mM is just a simple function to link the iso.bin.enc files to the placeholder app. Whatever it requires is not changed. I don't have any ps2 classics to test anything. mM already has a PS1+PS2 database of almost 4000 covers (already available in the FULL version and online), hence few lines to link the encrypted isos to the placeholders. The haters are barking at the wrong tree.

You need PS2 Classics Placeholder R2 (PS2_Classics_Placeholder_R2.rar by CaptainCPS-X) installed and your ps2 classics in /dev_hdd0/PS2ISO as subfolders. It is also available for download in mM's WEB column.

If you don't have memory-cards, mM will create them for you under SAVEDATA subfolder in the game folder.

Use the following structure format:

/dev_hdd0/PS2ISO/Test Game (simple naming format - no cover download)
/dev_hdd0/PS2ISO/Test Game/ISO.BIN.ENC
/dev_hdd0/PS2ISO/Test Game/COVER.JPG (not mandatory, but if present will have higher priority than downloaded covers)
/dev_hdd0/PS2ISO/Test Game/SAVEDATA/SCEVMC0.VME (mM will create it if missing)
/dev_hdd0/PS2ISO/Test Game/SAVEDATA/SCEVMC1.VME (mM will create it if missing)

or even better, the recommended format:

/dev_hdd0/PS2ISO/[SCUS-97194] NFL GameDay 2003 (mM will use the gameID and will download the cover if available)
/dev_hdd0/PS2ISO/[SCUS-97194] NFL GameDay 2003/ISO.BIN.ENC
/dev_hdd0/PS2ISO/[SCUS-97194] NFL GameDay 2003/COVER.JPG (not mandatory, but if present will have higher priority than downloaded cover)
/dev_hdd0/PS2ISO/[SCUS-97194] NFL GameDay 2003/SAVEDATA/SCEVMC0.VME (mM will create it if missing)
/dev_hdd0/PS2ISO/[SCUS-97194] NFL GameDay 2003/SAVEDATA/SCEVMC1.VME (mM will create it if missing)

Basically you only need the ISO.BIN.ENC and nothing else:

and mM will show "MyPS2Classic" disc icon in the RETRO column. If you name your folder with the game-id, mM will download the cover. If you put "COVER.JPG" next to the iso, mM will use it instead. That's it.

27 - 12 - 2014 - Cobra ODE News - Update

We hope all our loyal supporters and users had a Merry Christmas!

We are happy to present Cobra 2.3 fw which adds DMC support across all version of Cobra ODE.

Installation instructions will follow over the next few days.

Download: Cobra_ODE_Firmware_v2.3.rar

In addition we are releasing a new accessory for 4.30A, 5.10B and 5.30A users. Instead of using the external clip on pcb to connect a USB storage device, you can now solder the Emu USB QSB to the second port of your PS3, which allows you to use your second USB port to connect USB storage for Cobra ODE.

If the USB storage is not present at boot of PS3, the port can be used for PS3 controller or normal XMB usb access. Check out the pictures below of the Emu USB QSB:

Also below is multiMAN ver 04.66.08 BASE CEX (20150104) PKG from deank with the following changes:

Download: multiMAN ver 04.66.08 BASE CEX (20150104).pkg (39.82 MB) / Showtime 04.09.021 [CEX].pkg (7.50 MB) / Latest multiMAN Cover Packs by ZOMBIEKILLAH

Also available online (and from the WEB column).

  • Fixed issues when using more than one external USB HDD on Cobra CFWs (4.46-4.66+)
  • Fixed issues with homebrew locks/blackscreen/invalid-discs and other weird errors (CFW 4.65CEX/DEX and 4.66CEX)
  • Removed habib's patches and added two different ones to improve compatibility
  • JB games from FAT32 USB HDDs will be mounted as /dev_usb (and not as /dev_usb***) - this issue appeared in CFW 4.20. /dev_usb is always the first usb hdd which the ps3 manages to mount. When it happens that your game is not on the first/fastest usb hdd it caused problems. "Reset USB Bus" was introduced to multiMAN more than a year ago, but it is now added to mmCM, too, without actual reset of the bus.

If you're running pre-patched CFW (4.65/4.66) I suggest that you use a clean one. wM/mM try to restore lv2 to original state, but sometimes it may not be possible.

I already posted about the 1st change, and the second (for now) is to ignore PARAM.SFO and a faulty LIC.DAT processing when launching a homebrew (the PS3 tries to check these files from /dev_bdvd). I don't like this patch, but all the tests I performed are positive and all games worked.

This was all I can do for this weekend. When I find more time I may try to make it more robust and nice, but it will do for now. Please post back with your results.

IMPORTANT: if you are using webMAN and multiMAN/mmCM - UPDATE BOTH to the latest versions and restart your PS3 to start clean.

multiMAN 04.66.09 is now available, too (online within mM and from the WEB column).

  • Fixed minor issue (mmCM) (regression from 04.66.07)
  • Added prompt to launch multiMAN if mmCM finds itself in non-cobra mode (fixes tiefputin1 issue)
