Changelog: mM 04.14.00

Changes related only to 4.20-4.30 CEX/DEX CFWs:

BD-Mirror:

  • BD-Mirror option now supports USB HDDs mounted as /dev_usb000 to /dev_usb127
  • BD-Mirror option uses different approach now and doesn't move the PS3_GAME folder of USB games and doesn't modify the mount table
  • After using BD-Mirror for USB games, the usb drive is still accessible in XMB (Video/Music/Photo/Saves)
  • Improved disc-less support with BD-Mirror option enabled

USB Ports issues:

  • When using more than one USB device mM will disconnect/reconnect them from/to the USB bus in the proper order
  • This fixes games that crash when started from USB when multiple devices are connected

NTFS/PFS usage:

  • It is now possible to use any NTFS usb drive without configuring its Vendor/Device IDs in USB.CFG
  • When switching to NTFS/PFS mode use only one USB HDD connected (mM supports up to 2 partitions: FAT32+NTFS, NTFS+NTFS, FAT32+FAT32)
  • To access the contents of NTFS drives use mmOS and /pvd_usb000 /pvd_usb001 (games from NTFS drives won't show in other display modes)

Other:

  • Better support for data CD/DVD/BD discs and improved "Enable Direct Disc Access" function
  • Improved BD-Mirror function for games on internal HDD
  • Games started from mmOS icons/shortcuts handle BD-Mirror/Ext.Game Data options properly
  • Online update server updated (5320 PS3 game covers and 3420 PS1/PS2 game covers)
  • Updated showTIME media player (for mM) to version 04.01.264
  • Updated 8 translation files

Install Package Files (standalone application):

  • Supports split pkg files named in the following format: filename.pkg.0 -> filename.pkg.63, filename.pkg.001 -> filename.pkg.064, filename.pkg.66600 -> filename.pkg.66663
  • Upon launch/refresh the following folders are scanned: /dev_usb***/, /dev_usb***/PKG, /dev_usb***/packages, /dev_hdd0/PKG, /dev_hdd0/packages
  • Updated stDISC application (better drive reset timing and support for 4.30CFW)
  • Updated gameDATA, bdRESET and lastGAME applications to support 4.30CFW
  • Updated showTIME media player (standalone) to version 04.01.264 (CEX/DEX)

The showtime version provided with mM as standalone acts as the build-in one so it returns to mM. If you wish to quit to XMB either use the official build or use {PS} button -> Quit to XMB.

About NTFS - if you previously configured usb.cfg just stick to it. Without USB.CFG only two partitions will be available - that's it.

I just hope the new mmOS feature doesn't make transferring video files to my PS3's HDD more difficult (more steps) since that is my current main/only function for it during the past several months.

So, for that to happen, let's hope that currently open windows/directories get saved on exit and appear on next use.

Finally, below is how to launch PSN games via multiMAN for those interested from sealhealy (via psx-scene.com/forums/content/tutorial-2280/):

Launch PSN Games from multiMAN like any other PS3 backup:

1. Install your PSN package game like you normally would
2. In multiman go into file manager and navigate to /dev_hdd0/game
3. Find the corresponding game folder to the game you just installed eg. 'Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell HD' = NPEB00527
4. Copy this folder to your USB game folder /dev_usb000/GAMES
5. Now rename the copied folder to something meaningful eg./dev_usb000/GAMES/NPEB00527 becomes /dev_usb000/GAMES/[Splinter Cell HD]-NPEB00527
6. Inside the [Splinter Cell HD]-NPEB00527 folder create a new folder called PS3_GAME eg. /dev_usb000/GAMES/[Splinter Cell HD]-NPEB00527/PS3_GAME
7. Now move all files inside /dev_usb000/GAMES/[Splinter Cell HD]-NPEB00527/ into the PS3_GAME folder.
8. Go back to your Game list and refresh it, the new game will appear
9. Mount the game
10. When kicked back to XMB start the game from App_home not the disc icon

Notes:

  • You don't always need to copy all files sometimes just creating the file structure and copying the eboot.bin and param.sfo is enough.
  • I also think the reverse maybe true for some other games that don't work copying only eboot.bin eg. leave behind only eboot.bin param.sfo TROPDIR in the /dev_hdd0/game folder.
  • Creating a shadow copy of the USRDIR may also work? Nope

It's about time MultiMan Manager become it's own OS. I wonder if it will have an inbuilt browser in the near future though, never like the PS3 one.

Below are some details on the upcoming Cobra mmOS and multiMAN Cobra Manager (mmCM) updates from Gary Wayne Bowser aka GaryOPA (via ps3crunch.net/forum/threads/3597-EXCLUSIVE?p=40536#post40536) as follows:

It has been very silent recently in 'mmCM' updates, but we have good news today, developers behind 'Team Cobra' have contacted us and shared with us what they been working on since March, and it is is awesome, basically a full featured desktop enviroment called 'mmOS' to replace the old multiman file manager.

Click on the above picture, for a jaw-dropping HD screenshot of 'mmOS' in action, and after your jaw lifts off the keyboard, see below some of it's features:

  • supports 8 windows with up to 4096 entries per folder
  • double-click to launch video/music/picture/games...
  • single-click to multiple-select for copy/move
  • desktop icons for fast access to various options/functions
  • (shortcuts for showtime, games, themes, user created shortcuts)

This is just a hint of what is coming in the next big update, so we can't wait to see 'mmOS' all completed and fully in action with its many new jaw-dropping features on our PS3 consoles, and it might not be too long either as the developers are hinting at before this month's end for a big release, so this is already heating up to be nice hot summer for us Jailbreak Sony PS3 owners!

Here is the Cobra-USB_PS3_Updater_v1_0.pkg unpacked and decrypted.

I named the eboot.bin cobra1.elf the eboot.bin decrypted: http://www.mediafire.com/?1twmd11gsbe394n

The device ID and Vendor ID should be useful eventually, but it's so easy to get I'm not sure it's worth mentioning. (Though, it is documented in the wiki.) The device GUID is simply a windows thing so the libusb drivers can be found in the registry, etc.

From lewy20041: Cobra PC update and Debugging Tools for Windows

I have used Debugging Tools for Windows when the proces cobraflash.exe were used to flash Cobra-USB_Firmware_v5.0.cba to dongle and here is the outcome to open this file you need to install Debugging Tools for Windows. maybe some one can look at this. there are wery interesting info about cobra update process on pc.. have fun.

I used 7 zip on cobra.elf (http://www.filedropper.com/cobra_1), inside there are some more files without extensions.. ran it in ida pro and they are also regenized as PPC elf 64 and now the strings look little different: http://pastebin.com/ESRHxMyQ

From blazek566: Got this from the cobra1 file.. tell if its any good http://pastie.org/3716125

Finally from zadow28: Been testing my new tracker on the cobraflash and got some visual results with big difference in security. you can see the results here.

first download: http://csr.lanl.gov/vera/VeraSetup.msi

small guide to open the visual files, then download the visual files: http://www.filedropper.com/downloads_2

just open the files with the guide. i would recommend cobratrack first. blue spot is start, and you scroll in with mouse. this is from start, too when i load the different images.

its show the way with fake loops, as they are in the software (encryption) the path. it speaks for themselves.

regards
