125w ago - Today PlayStation 3 developer deank has released MultiMAN v04.14.00 Base and Full updates for both CEX and DEX consoles which now includes instant plug-and-play NTFS-formatted HDDs, enhanced BD-mirror support and more with details below followed by multiMAN v04.14.01, multiMAN v04.14.02 and multiMAN v04.14.03.

Changes related only to 4.20-4.30 CEX/DEX CFWs:

BD-Mirror:

  • BD-Mirror option now supports USB HDDs mounted as /dev_usb000 to /dev_usb127
  • BD-Mirror option uses different approach now and doesn't move the PS3_GAME folder of USB games and doesn't modify the mount table
  • After using BD-Mirror for USB games, the usb drive is still accessible in XMB (Video/Music/Photo/Saves)
  • Improved disc-less support with BD-Mirror option enabled

USB Ports issues:

  • When using more than one USB device mM will disconnect/reconnect them from/to the USB bus in the proper order
  • This fixes games that crash when started from USB when multiple devices are connected

NTFS/PFS usage:

  • It is now possible to use any NTFS usb drive without configuring its Vendor/Device IDs in USB.CFG
  • When switching to NTFS/PFS mode use only one USB HDD connected (mM supports up to 2 partitions: FAT32+NTFS, NTFS+NTFS, FAT32+FAT32)
  • To access the contents of NTFS drives use mmOS and /pvd_usb000 /pvd_usb001 (games from NTFS drives won't show in other display modes)

Other:

  • Better support for data CD/DVD/BD discs and improved "Enable Direct Disc Access" function
  • Improved BD-Mirror function for games on internal HDD
  • Games started from mmOS icons/shortcuts handle BD-Mirror/Ext.Game Data options properly
  • Online update server updated (5320 PS3 game covers and 3420 PS1/PS2 game covers)
  • Updated showTIME media player (for mM) to version 04.01.264
  • Updated 8 translation files

Install Package Files (standalone application):

  • Supports split pkg files named in the following format: filename.pkg.0 -> filename.pkg.63, filename.pkg.001 -> filename.pkg.064, filename.pkg.66600 -> filename.pkg.66663
  • Upon launch/refresh the following folders are scanned: /dev_usb***/, /dev_usb***/PKG, /dev_usb***/packages, /dev_hdd0/PKG, /dev_hdd0/packages
  • Updated stDISC application (better drive reset timing and support for 4.30CFW)
  • Updated gameDATA, bdRESET and lastGAME applications to support 4.30CFW
  • Updated showTIME media player (standalone) to version 04.01.264 (CEX/DEX)

The showtime version provided with mM as standalone acts as the build-in one so it returns to mM. If you wish to quit to XMB either use the official build or use {PS} button -> Quit to XMB.

About NTFS - if you previously configured usb.cfg just stick to it. Without USB.CFG only two partitions will be available - that's it.

7 - 3 - 2015 Cobra ODE News - Update

We are pleased to present the Cobra ODE FW 2.4 wich properly adds support for the Emu USB QSB and addresses a number of small bugs we found in particular with the drive door support for 4k consoles. We have updated the DMC triggering mechanism for enhanced performance.

The game database file has also been updated to include many new titles.

We are unable to fully support FAT PATA consoles with DMC owing to issue with BD recordable media compatibility and a multitude of different bluray drive daughterboards. FAT SATA consoles with BMD-31 will remain supported. If you have purchased DMC for PATA FAT consoles, you may return it to your reseller for a refund.

DMC will be kept fully supported on FAT SATA (BMD-31), 2k/2k1, 2k5 and 3k consoles.






Since we have removed the Hardware Passthrough mode from ODE FW 2.4, we suggest that users use ODE FW 2.2, if they wish to update the OFW of their console to 4.66. ODE FW 2.2, still has the option to enable HW Passthrough mode providing you are using the USB Clip on PCB. After updating the console OFW to 4.66 you can update to ODE fw 2.4 again.

I got things hooked up, loading a game is still a bit of a PIA but it works.

  • After plugging in my HDD with my games on it I plug my PS3 into power then boot it up.
  • I then put in by Boot disc I see the cobra menu and select a game.
  • I then get a what looks to be a video of just the cobra icon at that time I eject my boot disc then just put the boot disc back in. It then loads up the game selected in the XMB
  • I then hit 'x' to start the game the bootdisc then pops out then the ode flashes red/blue so i leave the boot disc and let it suck back in.
  • Then in a few seconds it ejects again then ODE flashes green/blue I then pop in swap and BADABOOM it loads up.

With that many ejects and loads I am anticipating my BD drive to crap out soon. Hopefully cobra team can lower the number of ejects but in any case it works!!

I just upgraded my old Cobra to a newer updateable version today!

On 4.66 it seems Sony are catching and winning the race with ODE's. Anyway, I do have a swap disk which means I am sorted for now...

Multiman shares alot of info between the cfw cobra port which made me look into the issues with controller synch n are all within mm causing issues due to certain files where synch needs to be patched properly in with the file.

I already ran the tests and intact does work correctly thus also giving back the exit screen

Now my mate has seem to do a number of things to multiman in the last few weeks of research as he called out to another mate who has great knowledge and workaround. The scene has never seen or listened 2 till now.

I have seen his work before but chose to keep quiet. He even discovered what files are what and where they come from and how they are utilized. Deank didn't want this out for various reasons but as he dug deep and into reaches that has now unlocked multiman to the limits deank said was impossible.

As he keeps working in secret to unlock every secret to even discover what one file fully unlocks this great manager. I would like to thank him for his great work as it won't be seen as his last work as he even started on the new generation console making this one of not only deank greatest threat but others as well to reveal who they really are hiding behind other names.
