November 28, 2012 // 6:30 pm - Today PlayStation 3 developer deank has released MultiMAN v04.14.00 Base and Full updates for both CEX and DEX consoles which now includes instant plug-and-play NTFS-formatted HDDs, enhanced BD-mirror support and more with details below followed by multiMAN v04.14.01, multiMAN v04.14.02 and multiMAN v04.14.03.

Changes related only to 4.20-4.30 CEX/DEX CFWs:


  • BD-Mirror option now supports USB HDDs mounted as /dev_usb000 to /dev_usb127
  • BD-Mirror option uses different approach now and doesn't move the PS3_GAME folder of USB games and doesn't modify the mount table
  • After using BD-Mirror for USB games, the usb drive is still accessible in XMB (Video/Music/Photo/Saves)
  • Improved disc-less support with BD-Mirror option enabled

USB Ports issues:

  • When using more than one USB device mM will disconnect/reconnect them from/to the USB bus in the proper order
  • This fixes games that crash when started from USB when multiple devices are connected

NTFS/PFS usage:

  • It is now possible to use any NTFS usb drive without configuring its Vendor/Device IDs in USB.CFG
  • When switching to NTFS/PFS mode use only one USB HDD connected (mM supports up to 2 partitions: FAT32+NTFS, NTFS+NTFS, FAT32+FAT32)
  • To access the contents of NTFS drives use mmOS and /pvd_usb000 /pvd_usb001 (games from NTFS drives won't show in other display modes)


  • Better support for data CD/DVD/BD discs and improved "Enable Direct Disc Access" function
  • Improved BD-Mirror function for games on internal HDD
  • Games started from mmOS icons/shortcuts handle BD-Mirror/Ext.Game Data options properly
  • Online update server updated (5320 PS3 game covers and 3420 PS1/PS2 game covers)
  • Updated showTIME media player (for mM) to version 04.01.264
  • Updated 8 translation files

Install Package Files (standalone application):

  • Supports split pkg files named in the following format: filename.pkg.0 -> filename.pkg.63, filename.pkg.001 -> filename.pkg.064, filename.pkg.66600 -> filename.pkg.66663
  • Upon launch/refresh the following folders are scanned: /dev_usb***/, /dev_usb***/PKG, /dev_usb***/packages, /dev_hdd0/PKG, /dev_hdd0/packages
  • Updated stDISC application (better drive reset timing and support for 4.30CFW)
  • Updated gameDATA, bdRESET and lastGAME applications to support 4.30CFW
  • Updated showTIME media player (standalone) to version 04.01.264 (CEX/DEX)

The showtime version provided with mM as standalone acts as the build-in one so it returns to mM. If you wish to quit to XMB either use the official build or use {PS} button -> Quit to XMB.

About NTFS - if you previously configured usb.cfg just stick to it. Without USB.CFG only two partitions will be available - that's it.

17 - 9 - 2015: Team Cobra is proud to present the next generation of ODE, the 5.10C.

Compatible with 25xx, 3xxx and 4xxx series consoles to 4.65 OFW. The 5.10C has inbuilt DMC (Drive Motor Controller) circuitry. We have greatly reduced the size of the PCB, with many optimizations in terms of components used. We are now running our own SATA core which allows for further speed increases and much more flexibility.

We have also worked hard to pass on the component cost savings to the end user, so you can expect a lower RRP from retailers. In short, the Cobra 5.10C ODE is much more compact, Flexible and faster design at a lower price!

We expect to start shipping soon, during October. Please reserve your 5.10C in advance by pre-ordering through Cobra resellers.

I don't think there is as classics need full CFW and ode is just emulating physical bd drive, better/cheaper option would be getting second hand ps2 and using ESR with FMCB, or getting fat model and adding network adaptor + installing hdd

hello guys.. just wanted to ask if there's anyway to play a ps2 classic on a cobra ode?

i downloaded fatal frame 2 ps2 classic and GOD HAND from PSN stuff along with its rap... if i tried to resign edat file within each game like i did with most of my ps1 games that downloaded from psn stuff will it work?

and if not is there anyway to make it work? i have Superslim 4.53 cobra MCU 2.2

i tried the resigning way with all of ps1 games and it worked awesome without any use of fix or crack so hoping for a ps2 too

Hi All,

I'm new to PS3 and this forum.

I purchased a PS3 CECH-4208A PS3 (12GB) OFW 4.55 and installed Cobra ODE 5.30A. Red LED is glowing when i power on PS3 and I dont see any cobra ode manager in PS3.

I did only hardware install. do i need to do anything from software end?

I formatted pen drive in NTFS format and created folders as per the guide still no good

Please advice.

Hallo comm

I would like to present an user project from two friends (GamersRS & esprit1711 from psXtools) and me. Around october 2014, a friend asked about the possibility of a microcontroller based project. And i just said "of course" Chipwelt from psXtools had built a "switchmod" as alternative methode to the DMC and GamersRS asked me about a "microcontroller based switchmod".

So the idea from the S-DMC was born

I had built a microcontroller (PIC16F628A) based circuit and had written a software in asm. The prototype looks ugly but it works

And here esprit1711 comes into play. He designed a real "eye candy" PCB and then the big tests began.

After finishing the big tests esprit1711 had kills few bugs on the PCB and i made an optimization the software for the PIC.
The final version was finished.

The S-DMC is for Slim models. The installation is simple, there are just 4 wires to soldering (+ 2 optionale, 1 LED for swap-magic signaling) and one little cut one the power PCB of the PS3. The S-DMC simulate the switch positions from bd-drive so you are able to swap the disc and the PS3 don't get it

Despite of the cuts on the power PCB i was able to preserve the original PS3 eject function. Function of the S-DMC are:

  • 1 click on eject button = normal official disc eject
  • hold eject button(~10sec) = normal official bd-drive reset
  • double-click on eject button = swap-magic for cobra ode

The official release was in early 2015 and until today there are no problems.
The end product works like a charm

Update: Hi, today i received new information from Chipwelt. Ok as i said, i don't have a ODE and i don't use the S-DMC.

It can also be used without ODE to swap psx (and *ps2) backups even on OFW.
e.g. insert an original psx game in the ps3 and wait until the disc icon is appear in xmb, than double-click on eject button (for swap-trick) and now you can insert any psx backup and play again, EVEN on OFW .... crazy that i didn't know that.

*ps2 backups of course only on bc models. But in the same way as with psx games. Ok, at this time the S-DMC is only for slim models but this can be changed if there is a demand

Chipwelt released a video in november 2008 with a switch-mod and show a ps2 swap on a cecha model
