246w ago - At first I thought games that weren't remote play enabled probably ran really slow and lagged terribly.

I was wrong, the first game I tried this on was Killzone 2 and it ran surprisingly well no audio lag, buttons were responsive, and the video was smooth without any hiccups.

How to:

1. Dump any game of your choice to your hdd
2. Install Ps3 FTP and launch it
3. Connect via ftp and navigate to your hdd folder then to games -> LAUN12345 -> GAMEZ -> YOUR GAME ID -> PS3_GAME
4. Now copy PARAM.SFO and make a backup of it just in case
5. Download SFO Editor open the sfo and check "enable remote play"
6. Save it and then open up the FTP and transfer the modded sfo back into the PS3_GAME folder.
7. Now connect your psp in remote play and enjoy.

Kudos to theblacksheep for discovering this.




Update: I tested this using the pc remote play and it didn't work, only seems to be working on the psp.

I edited Marvel vs. Capcom 2's SFO and remote play crashes, now the interesting part is custom music doesnt work anymore on MVSC2, is the setting that enables custom music in the same SFO file perhaps?

Now all we need is a way to play psp games on our tv's through our ps3, seeing as psp1000's don't have the port that allows them to do so.

...Can backup manager run psp games? ;o From what I understand, psp games can be played on the ps3 without anything extra.

Because it seems like enabling the Remote Pay feature will cause the Hypervisor to allocate an extra 8 MB of XDR memory, and having only 256 MB of main memory makes each MB a very precious thing... console games are developed to always run on the same hardware so developers do not have to worry about having less memory available and code the game to count with every k available so enabling this will probably cause problems on most games...

Not necessarily - only if played over the internet. You can indeed still use it "locally" only within your own network or use some bettert router and VPN to it from outside leaving the PSN out of it etc.

This is the 2nd best thing i've seen after i saw the PS3 had been exploited. I'm going to use my PSP more than ever

every game i've tried so far always comes up as corrupted data and it cant boot. yes i did follow the instructions step by step and double checked just to make sure i didnt miss anything. anyone know why?

Has anyone started a list of titles that can be remote play enabled? It would save some time for those that are going to be late to the party.

All we now is a version of backup manager to modify options like this we find on the fly :-)

This is awesome news, but I don't think this is 100% compatible with all games.

So far, I've tried this with Little Big Planet and couldn't get it to work with remote play, but I was able to get the backup manager to work with this method That alone will come in handy if a lot of games can be made remote play compatible.
