189w ago - Today is a good day for Atelier-series fans! Similar to Disgaea 4 PS3 translation patch released earlier, Tidusnake666 on PS3 News has updated his work in progress and now shared a PS3 translation v0.1 of the Japanese version of Atelier Totori: The Alchemist of Arland 2.

Few thing to note before reading on:

  • Translation was done with Microsoft Translator API based program, so sometimes it, frankly saying, doesn't make sense. But, story messages are natively (officially) English, although there're some padding problems, but they do make sense.
  • Pretty much everything (skills, side-dialogues, locations, names, items, ingredients, even bestiary and much more) was parsed in translation, but approx.10% of text remained untranslated with original Japanese words. But I'm sure you can figure it out
  • Voice acting will be in Japanese (cons of Japanese EBOOT)
  • The game is fully untested, so there may be crashes, although I checked everything byte-by-byte.
  • If you don't like it, do it better!

Instructions:

0. Obtain both JP (BLJM60241) and US (BLUS30735) version dumps of the game. Delete any game data on PS3 you have (you can leave your saves) We'll be using US version as a base.
1. Replace US folder "PS3_GAME\USRDIR\Res\Sound" with the equivalent Japanese one.
2. Replace US PARAM.SFO with Japanese one
3. Replace US EBOOT.BIN with patched Japanese one: Atelier Totori: The Alchemist of Arland 2 PS3 Translation v0.1 EBOOT (pass: PS3News.com)
4. Copy US version game on your ext./int. HDD, enjoy and play!

It surely works.

I've completed game to the end and experienced no glitches/bugs (using latest 0.12 version)

About other hybrids, it seems like new CFW or PSJBv2 is near.

If it's not and there won't be other methods to launch this game, I'll sure mess up with it!

Still doesn't work. I am on multiMAN also. Maybe I have a bad rip for the JPN totori? i could only get the KOR vers which is still BLJM60241. How frustraiting =(

Did you use the select + x method on multiMAN? I backed up my copy of SvR 11 and not all the sounds worked like it should have. When I tried using the select + x method it worked.

(I was on 3.41 at the time)

My bad, it's working now. Was i who got the wrong Atelier, lol

The folders of the others Atelier games has the same structure, because of this that I mixed the balls...

Btw, do you plan to do a Hybrid with Rune Factory Oceans?

are you sure followed first page instruction?

i am on 3.41 too and the voice is fine, it even annoying sometimes, especially when you assign work to your homunculi

Is anyone getting issues of no voice acting? I followed the directions and replaced the right folders. I have no problems running the game on 3.41jb but everytime there's dialogue in the game I hear no voices and when in battle, the character's don't say anything??

Yes, it's a known bug. It's because japanese text buffer can only hold up to 20 chars. If it have been japanese, it would be OK, characters are wide. But english characters are narrow, and buffer is small. So, it is what it is.
