From his page, to quote roughly translated: This PS3 CFW is installed directly into the NAND has been tested in different models of console (FAT and Slim, reported in the main post) and without any bricking or similar problem.

The testers have reported a high stability in the CFW and the same compatibility with games that could be obtained with different dongles.

The main core of the payload is based on Hermes, also has some features of PL3 and supplementary code and improved by Waninkoko.

Attempted to create an application that enable / disable the payload, so that after leaving a manager backup Blu-ray was functional. After some testing has not been able to be operational, it would be desirable for the various backups managers were in charge of implementing such functionality or may be added in a later CFW.

What is the difference between CECHG04 and CECHG01.. Only the region ?

CECHC04 FAT 60GB, and yes the difference in numbers means only different region.

I got my ps3 and updated it from 3.41 to 3.5 then discovered they could be jailbroken , so i downgraded to 3.41 again and did all that. I then got Waninkoko's V2 firmware and updated to that from the menu and it worked a treat.

I have a slim 250g ps3 CECH 2003B and everything looks to be working fine on it now. Just have to update my multiman and check it out.

I'm not sure if the community knows or not, but Waninkoko was the first coder to get the Wii system working though his work was leaked initially which caused a bit of annoyance. He has been around for quite some time and has been a godsend to anyone in the wii side of things. I know there were some issues with his original firmware, but he can't test every different version of console so people need to know they are taking a chance with anything like this.

Anyway , i'll stick with his stuff as ive been following his work since the first release and he has been pretty much spot on with everything he has done up to the hic-cup recently.

I'd also like to say thanks for all his and other devs input, a thing a lot of people seem to forget to say when they get something for free that someone has put hours of work into.

Finally I upgraded my firmware from 3.41 w/JB to OFW 3.55 and to Waninkoko CFW 3.55 V2. Must say everything works fine for me.

But I am really supprised that I am able to access PSN without any problems /can download stuff, buy stuff, synchronize trophies, play online b.g.Motorstorm/ - hope it will last. I did not set any proxies or anything. Does anybody have similar experience?

there is no bashing, its only a fact that kmeaw's firmware is not a cfw its a modded firmware. you have to sign everything for his modded firmware that it works. and then it only works for this firmware he modded.

if you want to use this homebrew then on another ps3, you have to look for a compatible version.

same with games.

its the same thing like on the psp. only a REAL Custom Firmware have a future. no mod to play backups.

I know, but you can try the latest multiMAN, it has Black Screen Fix, many users reported success with games that had black screen problems before and now it's working.

It's much appreciated that people report their success or failures with this upgraded CFW. I, myself, have a CECHA01 original, but it's been scary and confusing lately for the older systems and myriad of choices and new acronyms. So thanks for some of the previous posts, I'm gonna try it out soon.

Does this work with the slim 320gb console?

Is red dead redemption and sing star dance going to work with this?
