Home PS4 News - Latest PlayStation 4 and PS3 News

February 21, 2011 // 6:46 pm - We are a team of 3 guys who have been working on a Nintendo 64 emulator for quite some time now, and we have decided to go out with the news since now our N64 emulator is officially working on the PS3.

We still have a huge load of things to work on, but it's playable and N64 is finally working on the PS3.

What we have done so far:

  • 1 player (keyboard only)
  • We have succeeded to enable gameshark codes
  • Graphics works excellent on most games we have tried; Mario 64, Donkey Kong 64, Ridge Racer 64, Diddy Kong Racer, Mario Kart 64, Banjo Kazooie and 1080 Snowboard.
  • Games we have tried that are jerky (so far): Duke Nukem 64, Doom 64, Hexen 64 and WCW Smackdown 64.

Issues (we are working on):

  • Audio is not working yet.
  • A user interface and the ability to edit and change files such as controller settings, cheat codes, etc. (We do all this over FTP now).
  • Game menu (we now have to upload one game at the time).
  • PS3 controller, (we now have to use a USB keyboard).
  • Multiplayer.

We have decided to use ps3news and youtube to communicate with you guys, and if you want to help us out, feel free to either email us at [email protected] or PM us on youtube.

We will upload videos for every new feature or issue we fix, so please subscribe to us on youtube. We want to keep you guys updated so you can follow our process.

And we will of course update you here as well since this is the official ps3 news website for hackers. Please share the video and all that stuff.

Here's the youtube video we just uploaded:

And have a nice day

hey FOO, could you plz explain how the pspemu can help us 4 emulating n64? & the ps3WinDos-thing cannot help us, because its win3.1 with DOS as system-base, right?

& what about the android n64 emu? can't help us neither?

For anyone that wants to help, it would be appreciated.

Attached is the decrypted psp_emulator.elf and a readme informing you about some things.

If anyone has anything to say or etc let me know.

This turned out to be a lot more complicated than I thought but it seems manageable, but I will continue working on it tomorrow.

thanks, man! i definitely don't mind being a guinea pig.

i tested like 10 fixes in like 2 hours for one game once, just waiting on someone to keep giving me something to use. i don't mind redundancy too much, especially when you can smell something happening.

Ok . I'm going to try and get something working. There's no telling what will happen but I'm just hoping the PS3 will emulate the homebrew just like it does Minis. I'll PM you something before too long.

do you mean do i have 3.55 or like 3.55 with a flasher that i can test stuff on and then flash in case it doesn't work? i'm gonna guess you mean the former, which in that case, yes, i have 3.55.

Do you have a 3.55 to test on? It might compile as a Minis and run but it's just a theory.
