February 9, 2011 // 8:51 am - As Sony usually does several days after each new PlayStation 3 Firmware update is released, today they have patched the proxy and PSN bypass methods following the release of the revised PS3 Firmware 3.56 rendering the PS3 DNS hacks useless once again.

Needless to say, when the next PS3 Firmware update arrives the PlayStation Network bypass methods will work again for another week or so before they are shut off, and the cycle will repeat for those unfamiliar with this pattern.

It also looks like Sony is remotely freezing PS3's that are already online using the bypass and when I unplugged the hard ps3 and booted it back up it wanted me to rebuild by database ^_^

Happened to both of my PS3's, leave me some feedback if this happed to any of you guys. Rebooted PS3's and had 2 extra applications on my XMB that were corrupt WTF?

heh, i'm all up for using CFW (i myself had backed up my games onto the HDD, for convienience), but surely if thats all ur using it for then u should find it easy to update. i did. i'd rather play online knowing there isn't a bunch of people cheating then having my backed up games but having to play with nolifers.

I own BBC2 and I just paid for BBC2V so just coz I want to run the backup of it without any disc does that make me a pirate?
If I want to run homebrew apps and emulators does that class me a pirate? If I want to chose the firmware I want to run on MY PS3 does that make me a pirate?

Remember, I paid for this console, its MINE so I can do what I want with it. $ony shouldn't force me to do what I don't want to do with MY console. I don't want to upgrade to a faulty useless firmware but I would like to play online. I should be able to on MY console but $ony are so rude they don't let me.

When someone else (Waninkoko) makes a CFW that lets me play online again then I will chose to upgrade to that firmware and again play online. It only works for LAN games not online games.

The problem with that is, most of my friends refuse to mod their consoles or let me mod them... I like playing online with my college buddies, and it sucks when I can't. I've already got all of my favorite games on discs, but I don't have the money to buy a secondary PS3 right now. College classes and gas for my car consume what little money I actually have. If PSN wasn't free, I'd probably have already switched to xbox.

I have thought of doing this many times, I actually spoke about it today with my step-father. This is exactly what is needed to help the scene grow and for anyone who truly wants to be free of Sony oppression it is a must. The problem I see is that it is SO hard to get people to band together for a justified and worthwhile cause.

In this case, in my opinion, this is a worthy endeavor. While it may not an original concept you have adrianc, the idea of an accessible network for the masses is truly a noble one. I am not knowledgeable enough to pretend I even have a clue how to accomplish such a task on a large scale or what resources are needed for an all encompassing network, I do know that I am already looking into making this a reality for my close friends and family.

I do have some ideas and know that it definitely can be done. Whether it is affordable and worth it in the long run remains to be seen. I am of the belief that i have bought the machine, I have paid for my games, I shell out bucks every month for enough bandwidth that I'd never be able to use it all, I damn sure don't think I should have to pay even more money to someone else to host games for my friends and I when I have the means of doing so myself right in front of me already.

One last thing I'd like to mention is that you stated you thought "we should start a private network" for all of us hacXers, I disagree. Sony has a "private" network they use to continually dis-enfranchise PS3 owners and rape the masses with, it's called the PSN. It is a PRIVATE network owned by Sony and it belongs to them. I concede this fact outright, we have NO RIGHTS whatsoever on PSN except what Sony chooses for us.

That's the way they want it in order to keep a firm grasp on what DOES NOT belong to them...our PS3's. Not one person should bitch, complain, cry, or get angry when their console is detected, banned or bricked by Sony while accessing their network. It is theirs and we have no rights to it. What we need is a PUBLIC arena in which to play without fear of reprisals from greedy, strong arming corporations such as Sony.

If you would like any info or help with possibly setting up a network for a few friends and yourself reply and I'll be happy to share my findings and ideas with you. Perhaps if a few of us start to pull together perhaps more people will see the validity and need and might be persuaded to join in too. If enough people were to turn their back on the PSN, as my daughter and I have chose to do, Sony would have no power over us whatsoever. p34c3

i live here in jamaica most of the games when just release are like $8500 jm about 150 us dolla when converted. this hack has help a lot , about the psn they are authentication files on the 3.56 that sony has just release to check all systems connected to psn network maybe a new dns or if we could get our hands on the authentication files from 3.56.

and just like how sony can release patch and dont say a thing about it when we find something that goes around it we should not go public keep it between ourselves.
