December 15, 2010 // 2:58 am - Update: PS3Break has also updated their hex codes to support PS3 Firmware 3.55 Spoofing.

To quote: It is the same as the 3.50 spoof payload, tricking your console into thinking its on the latest firmware. This does not allow you to go online, or play newer games. The purpose of the spoof is to prevent your console from telling you to update, that's all.

This update only stops you from updating to v3.55. Unfortunately PSN and v3.50 firmware based games are still unavailable.

Which means and I must stated in BOLD:

  • NO GT5 (original or backup)
  • NO N4S:HP (same as above)

It appears the PS3Yes Team have worked out a way to properly spoof the PS3's 3.55 Firmware requirement and have released some hex codes for their PS JailBreak clone USB devices below.

Download: PS3Yes Pro Port1 Hermes Spoof 3.55 Hex Code / PS3Yes Hermes v4b Spoof 3.55 Hex Code / All Boards PL3/Hermes 4B With 3.55 Spoof Hex Codes by Cyberskunk.

Is this only to prevent updates? If so, who cares? But what else can it do? PSN? GT5? Could this lead to more interesting things?!

OR is this just a simple mod of Hermes spoofing of 3.50 - Looks like it

To quote from the PS3Yes Team:

We just release SPOOF355 for PS3YES-PRO and PS3YES to prevent update.

This firmware prevent the console update to fw3.55.

Best regards

Yep, tried and that also fails.

I did try GT5 without editing the Param.sfo and it didn't say anything. So it does bypass 3.5* games.

And what info they did give is wrong.

It doesn't prevent updates, all it does is change the version number to 3.55.

So far it's done nothing good. Gonna try GT5 and see if it works, I doubt it but I will try it anyway.

I just tried it and it does say its 3.55 but it still asks to update so it doesn't work.

Just installed it on my Maximus (AT90USB162 device).. Works fine and does indeed display the firmware as 3.55.

Just tried to login to PSN and says I need an update.. Useless??

it's handy for the girlfriend, mates and kids accidentally updating your console, so quite useful imo.

Time will tell if this works or not, would be cool if we could get back on psn for christmas, or even for a couple of days.
