Rebug PS3 Custom Firmware 3.55.2 CFW TB (True Blue) Edition Out

Sponsored Links
172w ago - Following up on the True Blue PS3 version 2.2 release, PDX games and PDX patches, today Sony PlayStation 3 hackers Cyberskunk and evilsperm have updated their Rebug PS3 Custom Firmware to Rebug 3.55.2 CFW TB Edition.

Download: Rebug 3.55.2 CFW TB Edition (True Blue dongle needed) / Rebug 3.55.2 CFW TB Edition (Mirror)

To quote: REBUG 3.55.2 TB EDITION

After thinking it over the team came to the conclusion that in the not to distant future, there will be a whole lot of unhappy REBUG users who want to enjoy their new True Blue Dongle only to realise that their hard earned save games which ran using the Fake Save Data Owner option will no longer work.

As a courtesy for our loyal users we have put together REBUG 3.55.2 TB EDITION.

The Codename: Rebug Team take NO CREDIT for the COREOS work as we are using the True Blue CFW COREOS with the REBUG dev_flash files (straight swap, everything works so far!!).

INCLUDED - All REBUG 3.55.2 Features

(Requires True Blue Dongle to run True Blue patched 3.60+ Games)
ADDED - reActPSN 2.0 compatibility

(Credit to Hotz8611)
ADDED - No act.dat deletion on reboot

(This is our own. We feel it is a little bit cleaner than the original reActPSN 2.0 patch)

UPDATED - 3.73 Version Spoof files
UPDATED - Rebug Selector 1.5.1 & 1.6.1

(Finally got around to fixing the display resolution on HD tv’s)

REBUG 3.55.2 TB EDITION can be installed over the same or lower version OFW/CFW/MFW on any model PS3 through the XMB or Recovery Mode.

REBUG 3.55.2 TB EDITION can be uninstalled with the same version OFW/CFW/MFW on any model PS3 through the XMB or Recovery Mode.

Just like the Official True Blue CFW, after installing REBUG 3.55.2 TB EDITION the True Blue Dongle MUST be connected to the PS3 for ANY of your backups to run.

NOTE: Rebug Selector 1.5.1 and 1.6.1 are identical in their function but for some reason on random PS3 Rebug Selector 1.5.1 (Which we consider to be the more user-friendly) freezes. We have included them both just incase.

~Codename: REBUG Team

Credit and Thanks:
True Blue Dongle Team for finally bringing us 3.60+ gameplay
Hotz8611 for reActPSN 2.0

Finally, bitsbubba states that there have been reports of True Blue dongle being 'BRICKED' if used on any other CFW/MFW besides 3.55 Dongle (True Blue official) or REBUG 3.55.2 True Blue Edition.

i've made a new firmware its a TrueBlue/Rebug hybrid with the vsh & coreOS from the v2 version of trueblue. on boot up it will be TrueBlue firmware which works with dongle update 2.7, i got the rebug selector working but if you select rebug then you must remove the trueblue dongle otherwise the console will hang when loading the xmb because the firmware spoofer that true blue included in firmware 6.21+ is not compatible with the rebug vsh. cause they have added some kind of dongle check to their vsh anyway if you want to run true blue in rebug mode you will just have to sacrifice the latest games and downgrade the dongle back to 2.5 firmware by running the 2.5 true blue updater again..

if you have a QA flagged console you can select rebug menu option 2 for extras like fake save data owner on the trueblue firmware you just need to press the secret combo buttons L2 + L1 + R1 + R2 + L3 + D-pad Down

Download (updated): http://www.ps4news.com/forums/ps3-cfw-mfw/rebug-ps3-custom-firmware-3-55-2-cfw-tb-true-blue-edition-out-121605-6.html#post418390

DO NOT RUN THE REBUG UPDATER! Well you can if you want but your console will red screen, dont panic just put the console into recovery mode and reinstall my firmware. in theory if you run the app while in rebug mode it should work fine. will test it in a minute

No the rebug updater doesnt work DO NOT RUN IT.. to the forum administrator you should probably delete my post before someone bricks their console..

right well i see what the problem is, the rebug updater replaces important files in dev_flash. which i could fix but that could cause problems for people people on official rebug firmware if they installed it so.. errm, i might start my own firmware or something. dont really know

I have moved your discussion posts to the ongoing Rebug TB topic per our Sticky thread on the DRM-infected dongles.

Feel free to discuss TB compatibility or issues with the new Rebug updates here... any new TB posts in the other thread will be nuked as we don't have time to continue merging them all here.

Below are some notes from Gary Wayne Bowser (aka GaryOPA) also for those with DRM dongles:

NOTE #1: It does not work for users with the Cobra CFW firmware installed, due to the way the dongle does internal security checks.
NOTE #2: For it to work on 'True Blue' you need to downgrade your dongle to v2.51 and make sure you running v2 of their CFW.
NOTE #3: If you run any problems, remember to try a 'clean' CFW installed, with no reACTPSN or other spoofers or mods added!
NOTE #4: DON'T ACTIVATE/DEACTIVATE your PS3 on PSN to much in ONE DAY or Sony will LOCK you out for a WEEK.

Also from BahumatLord on how to make this work with the True Blue dongle:

Instructions on how to get to work with TB with dongle inserted:

1. Reflash your TB firmware to make sure you have vanilla install
2. Reflash your dongle firmware to 2.5 or 2.51. 2.51 if your dongle shipped with it, and 2.5 if it didn't
3. Install the new rebug spoofer
4. Enjoy

Just remember that you'd be able to lauch TB games up to and including the ones for 2.5. The very latest are still unplayable.

Finally, make sure you change environment back to "np" (without quotes) if you are experiencing error 80710104.

In regard to the PS3 4.11 Version Spoofer 2.2 (3.55 ONLY) and Rebug Update Package 0.7 (3.55.2) my video was based on the rebug v2 firmware version that i made.

The dongle was also updated to version 2.5, i updated the dongle to 2.61 firmware but it wouldn't work because of the version spoof implemented not tested with latest 2.7 update but i'm guessing that it would be the same deal if anyone wants to give it a go you can downgrade the dongle by running the 2.5 update again.

I can taste it, its sweet like a woman.

technodon is it possible for you to make that firmware even though you lose the rebug features if you copy the index.dat, version.txt and vsh.self and the reason I ask this and I think it will help a lot of people with launch ps3s because I was using your rebug trueblue firmware v2 because I need it to easily swap between that and cobra firmware if I use the official one whenever I want to swap I get the error you are already on the latest version.

So I guess this is my point I am using your firmware because it used to allow me to run the latest eboot patches as well as use system update debug successfully between cobra custom firmware and yours so if possible could you provide a firmware with those swapped files even if we lose rebug features.

Or could you provide a firmware for the latest patches that has a spoofed version so launch ps3 owners can swap between cobra or another dongle without the latest system software is already installed error that I used to get because both appear as 3.55 when rebug is 3.55.2.

i have tested this (http://www.ps4news.com/forums/ps3-cfw-mfw/rebug-ps3-custom-firmware-3-55-2-cfw-tb-true-blue-edition-out-121605-4.html#post411221) as a downgrade from 4.11 using the e3 flasher factory service mode method and can confirm that the lv1 patches are in place. remember to visit the rebug website site and support their efforts.

just a quick heads up if anyone installed and was using my rebug V2 Trueblue firmware, the new 2.61 TB update stops it working, you need to install the trueblue firmware from the official website, it stops working because you need index.dat, version.txt and vsh.self from their firmware but i can't just copy them and paste them into the rebug firmware cause although the dongle works it stops rebug features working.. so i'm going to need the rebug team to modifiy the vsh.selfs for this one!
