March 29, 2013 // 9:01 am - Following up on PS3 4.40 CFW and the PS3 v3.1.0 Core Update, today Spanish PlayStation 3 developer MiralaTijera has updated his PS3 4.40 CFW to include a ReActPSN RIF license bypass which allows users to run all PS3 DLC, PS1, PS2 Classic and PSN content that previously required RIF files without ReActPSN now.

This does have some good stuff but the need to use a USB is something we are really not interested in.. We have played around with it before we released the first REX but decided against it and instead to try to achieve the same results without the need for it.

No DEX yet but having a look at the current released 4.40 cfw's we decided to add a new member to REBUG family.. LITE EDITION.

From haz367: Not the fasted way to mount but at least it works smooth, made a typo earlier about "lv2kernel" and TargetID" reporting DEX after loading "lv2ker.self" ofcourse it's only Lv2kernel = DEX and TargetID = CEX, one could flash the c2d converted dexflash.bin using the "flash" FLAG but that's a bit silly cuse there's a 4.30DEX p/p anyway.. anotherlv2 FLAG/lv2ker.self - stream game from PC test, nvm the crappy phonevideo.

Finally, from Joonie: I have been trying to port this MLT's unfinished rif bypass patches into REBUG CFWs.

For some reason, so far only c00 type unlockable demo pkgs work, tested on REBUG 4.41.3 / REBUG 4.46.1 REX. Have anyone really tested this?

I also ported this patches to REBUG 4.46, and it seems working as the same as my first port [4.41], so far, I have got the same result.

TMNT works, Street Fighter HD gives 80010009 error. I'm going to try Virtua Fighter 5 soon. Again, I removed my act.dat, and there is no rif has been activated.

The reason why I chose REBUG REX for testing, is because it's easy to swap VSH, since all REBUG REX include 3 VSH files.

I can easily see the immediate differences between normal VSH and patched VSH with MLT's patches.

Also boot_otheros flag isn't working here. With boot_otheros flag the PS3 make some beeps and then the led becomes red but the console is still power on with a black screen. To power it off I had to held the power button. The only way I found to enter petitboot is to boot into recovery menu (after install_otheros).

Someone said that it's possible to downgrade with rogero downgrade PUP, I think that also the Rebug's 999 Downgrader is working.
Reactpsn is working here (my act.dat file wasn't deleted). You must install the lastest file (with included patched vsh.self).

I've installed this firmware but seems that bdemu isn't working here.

I tried with a game that requires a disc, Call of Duty: Black Ops and it doesn't start from /app_home/PS3_GAME/.

Maybe this is only for npdrm titles..

I got it running and there's a 2gb /dev that makes me very happy! You need to install multiMAN v04.18.00 Base CEX first and then update to multiMAN v04.19.02 Update CEX. So far everything is working and I need to try out some PS1 games but first comes *nix.

It does take a few extra seconds to boot and there is no epilepsy warning. There is an update 4 I will mirror the link/PUP and a mirror for both multiMAN versions BASE & UPD CEX. Always check your MD5.

3000 and 4000 models won't be downgradable until someone gets his hands on the new bootloader (that contains the new lv0 private key )

OFW > 3.55 won't allow CFW installation until we pawn the ecdsa private key OR we find an exploit to install cfw via sw
