December 16, 2013 // 4:26 pm - Following up on the previous update, today PlayStation 3 developers Estwald and D_Skywalk have updated the PS3 backup game manager known as Iris Manager to version 2.70 followed by v2.70-1 and v2.70-2 and v2.70-3 by aldostools with the changes detailed below.

Download: Iris Manager v2.70 for v4.XX PS3 CFW / irismanager-4-x.rar (Mirror) / GIT / IRISMAN.pkg / IRISMAN.pkg.194.v2.70-1.pkg (Mirror) / IRISMAN.pkg.581.v2.70-2.pkg / IRISMAN_src.rar by aldostools / IRISMAN.pkg.624.v2.70-3.pkg

To quote, roughly translated: What's new in version 2.70:

  • Added 'Mamba' support for CFW 4.46 (non Cobra) and 4.53 (Habib)

'Mamba' is a version of the Cobra payload (stage2) that can be launched from the Iris Manager itself to support ISOs, PS3 games and some of the features of Cobra payload (load plugins internally, it ignores the list) but does not support the PSP and PS2 emulators.

'Mamba' is not exclusive to a possible CFW + Cobra: Cobra detects f there is a Cobra payload loaded and is inhibited in that case. It can also be differentiated by sys8_mamba ( ) (if returned 0x666, is Mamba).

  • Fixed some minor bugs (file sizes shown on Archive Manager and a forgotten BDVD unmounting /mounting).

For Developers

The 'Mamba ' source code adapted with a minimal compiler for PS3 (Everything else, use my PSL1GHT build environment, well known), can be downloaded from this link: mods.elotrolado.net/~hermes/ps3/mamba_v1.0.rar

Please remember to publish the changes and/or additions you make, so that everyone can work from that base.

From aldostools on IrisMAN v2.70-1: Changelog 2.70-1:

  • Added all the changes from Iris Manager 2.70, including the 'Mamba' payload from Iris Manager 2.70 to support ISOs on CFW 4.53 & 4.46 non-cobra and the fixes for PS2 games
  • Added option to game scanning on /host_root and /dev_hdd0/video (for users using m@tsumoto's stealth version of multiMAN)
  • Fixed display of JPG/PNG on File Manager when grid 4x6 or 6x8 is selected.
  • Fixed the auto-mount of NTFS drives on File Manager

Changelog 2.70-2:

  • Changed file icons in File Manager.
  • Fixed icon display for ISOs in grid 4x6 and 6x8.
  • Minor changes in hex editor.
  • Moved blinking FTP icon.

Changelog 2.70-3:

  • Changed icons for PSX isos & PS2 isos
  • Fixed error when the launching mounted PS2 isos on Cobra
  • Added scan of /PSXISO to the game list.
  • Added option to launch ISOs stored in /PSXISO from File Manager
  • Fixed issue with game options menu of PS2 ISOS
  • Removed faulty date from Coverflow screen

Because I've been trying to find a way to get PSX games to work on it, and I'm still not sure where I'm supposed to properly store them.

PSXGAMES folder on usb SILENT HILL folder bin.cue or iso + COVER.JPG (1024max).

Go to manager (PSX are showed in the grid) settings done. Much better than MM to run psx games.

Some multi .bin/tracks games should be ensembled and converted to iso to run, ex. RAGE RACER.

Use Monster manager or PLAY manager, are pure iris fork to 4.70 (see EOL). Add libfs to the manager (go to that option in manager menu) to run some ps3 games on 4.70 like COD AW and SNIPER Elite 3. Need nothing more.

It's been awhile since his previous update, but today PlayStation 3 developer Estwald is back with a 4.70 update to PS3 System Manager followed by another revision with details below.

Download: sm_new_up_4.70.rar / sm_new_up_4.70_(2).rar / new_core_v1.3.zip (Mirror) / GIT

To quote, roughly translated: Well, it's done

In git you have new_core changes. Also in the attached (and I do not have access to FTP EOL) where besides the source, attached the sm.self already compiled, with patches to CFW 4.70 (I advise caution: expert someone else try it first).

How does it work ? So basically, when the temperature change, instead of setting the value directly, is reached it is trying to reach the target speed from wherever you are in a series of steps.

Usleep as the loop is 400 ms, that means a step forward every 400 ms, as indeed I have left (there is an internal counter that counts to 5 and at position 1 makes the temperature reading and tries to adjust steps in relation to the tables and no one moves every turn.

If this I want to play, you there. In principle, it is matched up to a maximum of 5 steps, but as a decimal precision is lost, there may be more, of course.

Anyway, I try it to see if you like more. And no, I have not seen. It's just that one day is a day and a forum where people get around a theme and no one program, the thing is nothing less. So there you have a variant [+ laughs]

Update: You can try from the Iris own to make a jump temperatures something big to be enough to return to the lower limit and see how it behaves.

If you want to make the most progressive leap, add number of steps or make adjustment step by step with a lower frequency of 400 ms (adding a counter that makes setting one in two or more cycles) to see what you like best. To me as it is, that's fine.
