February 16, 2013 // 6:12 pm - Following up on his previous revision, this weekend PlayStation 3 developer Estwald has updated the PS3 backup game manager known as Iris Manager to version 2.11 with the changes detailed below.

Download: Iris Manager v2.11 for v4.XX PS3 CFW / Iris Manager v2.11 for v4.XX PS3 CFW (Mirror) / Updated PT-BR Language.ini by LoboGuara / Persian Language.ini by Nicolas19 / German Language.ini / German Language.ini v2 by haxxxen / GIT

To quote, roughly translated:

v2.11 Changelog:

  • Fixed problem with usleep in PSX emulator
  • Fixed problems with truncated UTF8 strings
  • Fixed a problem when exiting the application after using the keyboard osk (?)

Quick instructions:

  • Install IrisManager pgk
  • Create a folder named PSXGAMES on the root of your internal HDD or External USB device
  • Inside the PSXGAMES folder, create a folder with your game name and put the game ISO / BIN / IMG inside

Example: /dev_HDD000/PSXGAMES/FinalFantasy7/FF7.iso

Note: For PS3 games, rename the folder GAMES to GAMEZ on your external HDD device.

Finally, on the subject of PS3 scene DRM-infected dongle sell-out deank, Spanish PS3 homebrew developer Hermes / Estwald has stated the following, roughly translated (via and

Concerning Mr. Deank,

1) The syscall 8 I first added it. If a man goes and gets her routines, when a bunch of syscalls free and also could unify all these routines in a single syscall (as the 8, I repeat, SHOULD HAVE THE RESPECTED), the blame for what pass course, is.

If they pass the syscall 8 liner, why do I have to respect what makes another who has not respected space syscall 8?. The fault lies with them.

2) The syscall 8 LV1 occupy a peek at these firmwares, but nobody told me: I had to discover on my own, for I repeat, everyone here hides the letters, except me, that all that public I am not for nonsense. Easily could restore it, indeed, could camouflage the syscall to act of LV1 peek and syscall 8, but I get the balls

3) Being a LV1 Peek is safe to call that part, of course, but the culprit is who used it without thinking that it had a use. Incidentally, Deank, if you use the 10, son, that's LV1 Call on those firmwares!!

4) As you can see, I got a check that calls restart if it detects a payload that is not what it should be: what else I can do.

5) The PSX payload check the clearance before proceeding to install: if it is not installed. Now if someone puts something in that part and not even bother to tell me to find a solution ... then do not complain: I do not tell anyone the firmware that must be installed, and I say if using Iris Manager do poorly.

6) It is true that I have spoken usleep (did I have hidden?) But Deank has a funny way of saying things he knows or should have seen, in the code, which I intend to pass all except usleeps those associated with EBUSY loop, which allow only 1 ms and only affect the emulator.

Unfortunately and as one is human and to program in assembler is complicated, wrong comparison and actually did the opposite: I think it is not necessary to mount a circus to tell someone who has made a mistake somewhere (is it good to make public the sources that if you mess up and you see a bug, anyone can see for yourself).

7) If you use the syscall is because it is a much better way to go patching programs and more interesting for any self-respecting dev. At first I thought they were reading multiple sector by some problems I had, but then I saw that it was not really well (in fact, there was a bug that prevented the routine could read several sectors XD and I remember that I mentioned in the thread).

If you've got code for that routine can read various sectors, that should be so, although I have not tested if it really works well there a problem with that?. In fact, many of these routines could be used for other things and the code that I do not end result if not you can always improve and others can intervene, because this is an open source project that has, unlike other.

Anyway, Deank should know that certain games require more data than the supply. I am not perfect and I can make mistakes like everyone else, but if that smart is Deank based on what makes my job so much seems to criticize?.

Reminds me of the nonsense they let someone else at the time that I will not mention, who does not move past water mill.

By the way, everything I post is only partially tested by me: there should be no need to put the word BETA so that it is a BETA knew that in the end, add the word, just sounded cheap excuse for when something has failed: I do not need to hide my mistakes, that I have, like everyone else. Regards.

Good, was preparing a very long answer and in the end, I deleted. I'll just say two things:

1) The thin rope that ties me to the PS3 scene, is about to break. There is something to be surprising because as I said, Estwald and Hermes can be the same person, but not the same character and Hermes was already sick of many things. When you shake hands and begin to take the foot and when to say no to these "suggestions" as pestles that people are not more than "I happen to, but do you" and if you give a negative into a "well, if you do not want, do not do" with the aforementioned annoying (as if something ... You ought) and it begins to multiply, it asks what the hell are you doing here, other than that no that people imagine it for me with this or if I'm some kind of chacha or I that:

The blame is mine alone, that's obvious. Especially because it was already retired and taste and turned, knowing what I could find, but that error can be rectified quickly. I came to help porting D_Skywalk Iris Manager and I thought I would encourage it, but that goal is met, D_Skywalk not and I'm getting tired with the case ...

2) The second thing I'll say is that the source code is available for those who want to carry out their "suggestions" do it, no one stops them. And if you do not know, as they learn, as I learned and I am only learning new things all the time based work hard and prove much.

With this background, the last thing I need is people (and less so from home) to join something that long since I was not going to play, if you want it, you have the source code, compilers and libraries available to you and only you are asked to name the modifiquéis release: no easier you can make and yet you're wrong path and going in the direction that bothers me and you have spent less justified (at times well, I think: "wasted") hours of my time on developing both Iris, as porting libraries, compile other, attach all, etc, then have people follow the same "crap".

In short, it is business as usual and that these words will fall on deaf ears: do not even bother to explain me.

webMAN MOD 1.42.02

  • Support 4.75 DEX, thx to Alexander to porting offsets patches, i'm to lazy to do it
  • Now control fan is disabled by default on the first boot of webMAN MOD (requested by lot of users)
  • Updated Italian xml file

webMAN MOD 1.42.03

  • Complete support for 4.60 DEX
  • Added new memory footprint profil MAX+ (1280KB)
  • Corrected some offsets patch for 4.75dex
  • Added Osirisx's changes for his plugin (PS3XPAD)
  • Redirect net_host/PKG to app_home to allow install pkg files using the combo for net0/net1
  • BD/DVD regions now also show the country/region (in addition to code)
  • Now XMB is sorted by first 6 letters, instead of first 4 letters.
  • The function that read the registry is now a general purpose function (with small optimizations)
  • Changed some hard coded numbers to defined constants (e.g. SC_COBRA_SYSCALL8, MAX_XMB_ITEMS)
  • Small bug fix in line that says: //net0/net1/net2
  • Other small fixes that I don't remember

I've updated the lasted version of 1.42.03 with 2 major fix with the help of aldostools. I suggest to use the lasted binary files or pkg, available on github.

Thanks aldo for his personal changelog.

webMAN MOD 1.43.01

  • Support 4.76 CEX (thanks Sony, for this biggest fw update...)
  • Control fan system is better than before (more explanation below by aldotools)
  • The game list is now sort by CD# (e.g FF PS1)
  • Local IP with adapter is now displayed (config and popup)
  • Offsets improvement for fix game compatibility
  • Updated Italian & Russian lang files

It supports Rebug 4.75.1. Let me try to explain how it works:

  • webMAN's fan control tries to keep cool CPU and RSX.
  • If one of them reach the target/max temperature (e.g. 66 C), the fan speed will be increased gradually (+2) until the temperature start to decrease.
  • If the temperature is 1 degree or more higher than the target/max temperature, then the fan speed is increased even more faster.
  • When the temperature start to decrease, the fan speed is decreased gradually (-1). This is done that way, because we want to keep the temperature as cool as possible and avoid the "yo-yo" effect.

Deank added additional heuristics to manage some special conditions, but
in simple terms this is the algorithm. So i decrease the fan speed faster under the following conditions:

  • If the temperature is 3 degrees below the target/max temperature, it decreases the fan speed -1. if the fan speed is higher than 66%, it decreases -2
  • If the temperature is 5 degrees below the target/max temperature, it decreases the fan speed -1. if the fan speed is higher than 50%, it decreases -2

webMAN MOD 1.43.02

  • Support 4.76 DEX
  • Added virtual pad support - webpad at (all build)

From aldostools: Thank you OsirisX for your tweaks... I tested the "web pad" feature with my smartphone and with the PC/keyboard and it's working great.

I used the following GUI (updated for webMAN 1.43.02)... anyone can make a custom GUI with all the buttons/analog stick/etc. Movian Remote [Showtime Media Center Remote Controller]

Thanks again! Good job OsirisX. The source code includes the latest changes made by Matsumot0.

P.S. I love how it behaves with the XMB's video player.

TIP: For Movian, use the light theme... The dark theme now doesn't behave properly due the double commands. If you still want to use the dark theme, press F2 to toggle the "web pad".

webMAN MOD 1.43.03

  • Added support for _hold / _release parameters in /pad.ps3 (for faster/better response in virtual pad)
  • webPAD GUI for PC support this in "Game Mode"
  • was updated to also support "Game Mode" using keyboard
  • A new theme GUI:
  • Updated the libraries in "vsh" and "lib" folders (Mysis & 3141card)
  • Fixed a couple of compilation warnings
  • /popup.ps3 (without parameters) now shows the system info popup (select+start)
  • Updated wm icons for XMBM+
  • Updated Russian lang files.

Thanks to aldostools

webMAN MOD 1.43.04 (via

  • Code refactoring main.c has been split into 32 separate modules, grouped by category
  • Added the shutdown.ps3 option to webMAN.xml & webMAN_ES.xml
  • Combo L3+R1+O to restart using VSH method and added L3+R1+X to shutdown using VSH method
  • Updated Russian lang file again
  • Updated German lang file
  • Updated webMAN_XX.xml files
  • New icons has better definitions + some new

/shutdown.ps3 uses the syscall power off (like before).
/shutdown.ps3?vsh now uses the VSH method (performs a standby). Any parameter can be used (e.g. /shutdown.ps3?standby)

/restart.ps3 now uses VSH restart (instead of lpar restart).

/reboot.ps3?vsh does the same as restart.ps3
/reboot.ps3?quick performs lpar restart
/reboot.ps3?soft performs soft restart via syscall
/reboot.ps3 performs hard reboot via syscall

Notice: There is an important difference between VSH shutdown and syscall power off. The syscall turns off the console completely. The VSH leaves the console in standby if Settings > Remote Play Settings > Remote Start is turned On. If the option is Off, the console turns off completely.

webMAN MOD 1.43.05 (via

  • Added http commands: /mkdir.ps3 and /rmdir.ps3 (without parameters they create hdd folders for ISOs)
  • /dev_bdvd/PS3_UPDATE now is redirected when the plugin is loaded (and when a game is mounted) This is intended to prevent an accidental update if a game disc is inserted in the drive
  • XML: Improved sorting of titles that include numbers (e.g. Uncharted 2, Uncharted 3)
  • Fixed bug fixing game folders with many subfolders (+6 levels)
  • Fixed filter games by title (/games.ps3?title and /index.ps3?title)
  • File manager now shows total size of devices in bytes & MB
  • Moved code from main.c to 2 new include modules: combos.h and fancontrol2.h (poll_thread)
  • Added menu selection using keyboard on slider mode (mobile.html)
  • Added syscall 38 to remove_cfw_syscalls() in stealth.h
  • lv2 peek/poke now are the last removals in remove_cfw_syscalls()
  • Fixed icons copy cachefiles.png & filemanager.png for XBMB+ (updater pkg)
  • Updated Italian, French and Slovak lang files
  • Update urls in web panel (New subdomain ( PS3 Remote Controller for webPAD)

webMAN MOD 1.43.06 (via

webMAN MOD 1.43.06 is live:

  • Fix cache issue on PS3 browser with certain http commands (e.g. restart.ps3). Thanks to Dino05.
  • Added delete mode to File Manager (requires JavaScript enabled)
  • Added option to save plugins currently loaded to /boot_plugins.txt and other boot files.
  • Installer now auto-enable stage2.bin if Cobra was disabled.
  • Updated simplified chinese.

webMAN MOD 1.43.07 (via

There are some minor tweaks and fixes, but the major change is the integration with the VSH Menu.

  • VSH Menu for webMAN now can be installed optionally (Holding R1 when launching the Updater)
  • The source code for the VSH Menu project is included under the folder "vsh_menu".
  • webMAN MOD now supports http requests through a local file interface (/dev_hdd0/tmp/wm_request)
    Example: "GET /mount.ps3/dev_hdd0/PS3ISO/MyGame.iso" (sans quotes)

Now it should be easier for devs to integrate their homebrews with webMAN MOD. Special thanks to littlebalup, Mysis, 3141card and Orion for the VSH Menu.

webMAN MOD 1.43.08 (via

  • Added /combo.ps3 (it lets call additional features. e.g. /combo.ps3?r2+triangle disable syscalls)
  • Added more parameters for control fan in /cpursx.ps3 /cpursx.ps3?fan=0 disables fan control (syscon) /cpursx.ps3?fan=50 sets fan to 50% (manual/constant speed) /cpursx.ps3?max=65 sets dynamic fan to 65ºC /cpursx.ps3?mode=dyn set dynamic fan mode (mode=man sets manual mode)

webMAN MOD 1.43.09 (via

  • Added option to unload VSH Menu. It's now the first option in Rebug Menu.
  • The toggler for Rebug Mode was too dangerous to be the default option
  • Now display the firmware version using Orion's code
  • Added support for unload prx by filename (full path). e.g /unloadprx.ps3/dev_hdd0/myplugin.sprx
  • Some tweaks on auto-fix game.
  • Fixed a bug detecting the remote IP address in /setup.ps3
  • Updated Rebug togglers (in webMAN & VSH Menu)
  • Combo to unload webMAN also unloads VSH Menu

webMAN MOD 1.43.10 (via

  • Added more wait time after disc eject. It seems to solve the issue that I had unmounting PS2ISO.
  • Changing the fan mode from dynamic to manual, there was a delay of 0.5 secs while dynamic fan control was checking the temps. If the mode was changed to manual, after the delay the fan control could change it back to another random value.
  • The VSH Menu now uses much less CPU. The frame display now uses cached values refreshed at different intervals, instead of get them on each frame (~12 times per second). CFW version is loaded once, temps are updated every 3 secs, devices are updated every 6 secs, ip address and payload type are updated once every time the menu is enabled.
  • Improved pad response when VSH Menu is on, keeping the same frame rate (~12Hz).
  • Updater Russian & Italian lang files
  • The installed plugins are now compiled without WEB_CHAT flag.
  • Fixed "PS2 fan mode". Also this mode now is shown in SELECT+START and /cpursx.ps3
  • /unloadprx.ps3?prx= now allows partial name or plugin id (e.g. /unloadprx.ps3?prx=VSH_MENU)

New features:

[*]In addition to the combos to open the browser directly from XMB, the new /browser.ps3 command and the 2 new menu options in VSH Menu.
[*]This build adds the combo L2+START to quickly launch the mounted game (disc icon) while being on XMB (no matter which column or option you have selected)
[*]Once a game is mounted via html, if you click on the displayed icon the game will be launched on the PS3. This is nice to start the game once it's mounted from your mobile This option uses the new command /play.ps3
[*]Added support for explore plugin commands using /browser.ps3$
[*]Added /play.ps3 to launch XMB Functions (e.g: /play.ps3?col=network&seg=seg_premo) package manager –> install package files –> PS3 Hard Disk

Then scroll down untill you see ColdBoot PACK CFW 4.XX [MxM] and/or XMB MOD WAVE [MxM] and install them/it.

Once installations are complete you may open up the new applications on the xmb and you can select a coldboot or wave which you might like and install (make sure not to power off) then when it is complete press hard reboot and when system reboots it should show the new wave or coldboot.

For custom fonts or the ball icon we go back to the main application (MAX MOD MAN 4.XX) and open it up.

This is the same principal for when installing one of these. choose one you like and make sure not to power off during installation. once installation is complete select hard rebootoption.

Finally for the themes. Go back to the main application and go to the themes for either multiman or xmb and install them. this will copy the themes to the respectful theme folder on the xmb and in multiman

IF you installed a theme for the xmb then go over to settings then themes and then select the theme option and the new theme should be select-able from the menu. Choose it and it should set.

IF you installed a multiman theme then go to multiman and open it up. Once loaded head over to the multiman menu to the far right and scroll down to theme and select the new one you just added and set it.

That is pretty much it guys. If you have any problems with anything to do with this tool feel free to leave a comment here or on the source thread for the developer. Enjoy guys.
