262w ago - Today TechRadar.com (linked above) received word from Sony Computer Entertainment of the first 3D games that will be arriving for the PS3 entertainment system, and also news that the rumored June PlayStation 3 Firmware update won't include Blu-ray 3D support.

The PS3 titles already confirmed are Wipeout HD, Motorstorm Pacific Rift, PAIN and Super Stardust HD... all slated to be released through PSN the same day the 3D TVs, the Bravia LED LCD HX803 range, launches.

To quote: "The PlayStation 3 will eventually get 3D Blu-ray compatibility but this is to come in the form of another firmware update later in the year.

While it's great that Sony will be offering 3D for free on the PS3, the delay of 3D Blu-ray on the console will be a blow to those PS3 owners looking to buy a 3D TV and save money on not purchasing a 3D Blu-ray player."

I think Sony wants to deepen the 3D that has its output is very usable and it does not default but I also think that Sony is seeking to gain time because they did not finish the 3D Blu-ray.

That video is for a DS/i game, not a 3DS title.

i believe what you have shown is just a 3D environment more like Detuned for the ps3.. which is not a remarkable or new technology.

exactly man that's why i said in my first comment that I'm still waiting for a similar technology with free glasses! , i know the ds one looks different i just gave the guy who was asking the link!

and i've watched the avatar in theater and it was great!, but i also played Left 4 Dead on my friend's nvidia 3d vision setup, to be honest with ya i wasn't that impressed! even thought his led tv was 240hz.

i believe sony's 3d would look the same as nvidia 3d vision yeah it's cool but not that great!, not to mention using the stupid glasses.

That's not how the 3D technology on the new televisions works... it's more of a depth sort of thing. The Best Buy store here has a 3D HDTV on display along with the glasses you can try out, and it's NOT what everyone is thinking it's going to be like.

Very good on clearing it up I think people expect something like the 3D from orlando studios or something. There is also the Sony Store here in NYC if anyone is interested, I believe it is on Madison and 59th street. If you go down you can see the Bravia 3D series. They show the 4 games mentioned in 3D. I was most impressed by the stardust HD game.

The depth added is a nice addition, and while nothing pops out at you, it does give the illusion of things being very close. I only hope that games made with this technology will not be slap-on 3D (like Clash of the Titans was per se) but will be built with the idea from the ground up (Avatar) Just my 2 cents
