June 17, 2009 // 1:13 am - Apparently, a picture (below) of what appears to be a movie poster advertising the new Metal Gear Solid movie has just sneaked onto the Internet today.

To quote: The poster, which is believed to have been taken at Sony Pictures in Culver City, CA, shows Christian Bale (most likely Solid Snake) and Daniel Craig (most likely Liquid Snake) along with a scheduled release for July 2011 and Hideo Kojima's name at the top.

This would undoubtedly be awesome news if we could confirm it as being 100% legit, but until then it'll remain a rumor as there are plenty of individuals out there with decent Photoshop skills.

If this is true, i really cannot wait but i would rather someone else rather than Christian Bale acting as Solid. Maybe Stallone

It looks like a fake and I think Christian Bale isn't suitable actor for this film.

As other users have already stated, the image is an obvious fake. However the possibility of a MGS movie series is very likely.

In a time where non best selling games lacking story like Bloodrayne can find resources to pull it of, a succesfull and literary decent series like MGS should most certainly be taken into consideration.

Christian Bale is an amazing actor (although i don't like his Batman), i just don't see him pulling of a succesfull Solid Snake (at least for me). But in many cases of video game characters making it to the big screen, most people aren't pleased with the casting beforehand, i guess it's just really hard to find a face for an already established character.

Here's to hoping for a decent MGS movie series with equal decent actors and production values.

It could work, considering that the movie is based off of MGS4. Not too much make up required.

wow i mean a MGS movie would be great, talk about advertising to a franchise right? if the movie does well then people will flock to buy the game or even buy PS3s. from a marketing stand point a MGS movie is good for overall sales in general. but then again there are people who are really good at photoshop that could have pulled this off, but until theres solid proof the posters fake id like to hope that the movies really in production.

Now that would of been one hell of a movie. I might just go get a poster made of your picture to have people be like WTF???

But then again I get pretty lazy.
