262w ago - A few days ago PS3 Firmware 3.30 was released, and aside from breaking PlayStation 3 consoles it was also reported to update the PS3 browser's Flash version and fix some region-free Blu-ray disc issues.

Engadget.com (linked above) has added to the list of 'hidden' updates PS3 Firmware 3.30 includes, noting both the addition of Remote Play from PC and supporting bitstream audio options.

To quote: "Additional trophy sorting and 3D gaming readiness should have been enough to satisfy and PS3 owner after the latest v3.30 system update (hey, at least it didn't take anything away this time) but there's a couple other surprises in store.

If you're the kind of person who loves (or hates) their beeps and bloops, there's a toggle for Bitstream Direct (output audio with the original digital signal prioritized) or Mix (mixed with sound effects such as button sounds and then converted to bitstream format) on Blu-ray movies, while future VAIO PC owners can get a taste of remote play without any PSP intermediary."

Then i was stuck with a refurbished ps3 from Sony and they told me i couldn't get my original one back and i was pissed. So i decided to fix this ps3 with a fixshop on the net that put in a new disc drive and motor in my drive after i opened it and fiddled with it! It was out of warranty anyways!

I tried to clean it but ended it up messing it up a little. Oh well its fixed now like brand new and less than new console, but you see why i refuse to UPDATE -- Sony has Kill switches on frame ware updates on curtain ps3 i swear to god!

If you bit the bullet last time and are on 3.26, the PS3Proxy method works to get around this update.

[sarcasm]haha its sonys secret evil scheme to get people to buy there new Vaio's to hack the ps3... yeah im seeing it all now sony knowing that the ps3 was going to be hacked by the elegd "gigantic security hole in linux" decided to remove the feature instead of properly patching the security hole they instead decide to remove the feature and give us a new useless feature then release a new prototype system that doesn't even function properly but did include a special funnel to drain the tears directly from your eyes to keep there top executives alive off the consumers pure sorrow...[/sarcasm end]

other than that seems like another cookie cutter sony update that doesn't really add any useful features and and proves that people will still do anything to keep chasing that online dragon (heroin joke for those of you who don't know).

Yea, definitely highly doubt that as well, especially with all the security patches and updates they have been putting out. You really think they would make something like that possible?
