February 28, 2008 // 2:23 pm - In an official post on the Web site, Sony is intending to give away some sort of free prize in an attempt to encourage PS3 users to play online via the PSN.

There are no official statements as to what the prize could be, although I guess it will probably be a free game of the PSN or such like. (see quote below)

"In the month of March we thought we'd show you all how much we appreciate having you as part of the Online Community by giving you a prize just for logging on and taking part on the selected nights!

Simply play online on any of the following nights between 6pm - 8pm AEST for your chance to win although you will need to get in quick as we only have a limited number of prizes.

HOW TO REGISTER: Register a friend request with the SCE account below and play online on any of the dates listed above to win. It's that easy!

No no, this comes from Its Australia only.

The reason i missed out was because i was too late to add the contact. There is a limit on the amount of people that a single user can have on their friends list, and the com contact apparently reached that pretty quickly.

I just received an email from sony support.

On the scheduled days that the competition is being run we will be accepting entries. Entries are limited so the first requests received will be accepted. Once again we do apologise and would like to thank you for your interest.

From what i can decipher the vagueness is that on the day of the comp they will be accepting requests then after that day is complete the friends list will be erased to give more people a chance. Still, not opening up more friend slots seems pretty limiting. Remember all you people not from australia; if you add the contact all you are doing is depriving others from a chance to win, you wont be eligible for any prizes.

Nope, still havnt added me. It may be that you dont get added until the comp starts (which is today i believe, I checked last night)

I also posted off a quick email to them asking about the possibility of opening up more positions about 4 days ago but have not received a reply as of yet.

Looks like it was just first in first served, which is a shame.

I did add COMP_SCE_ANZ_2 however, just in case they decide to open it up to a wider audience.
Its a pity, because i always like free stuff =p

Any success with COMP_SCE_ANZ_2?
