April 5, 2007 - Capcom, who now holds the honor of first and second PSP million sellers in the Monster Hunter games, is going for a different crowd with its next title for the platform. First unveiled in this week's Famitsu, Fate Tiger Colosseum, is a a fighting action game developed by Cavia and featuring characters from the Fate/Stay Night series.
The what-what-what series, you ask. Fate/Stay Night (yes, there's a slash in the title) is a conversation-style adventure game that was a hit (over 140,000 sales) when it was released for the PC in 2004. The game, published by Type-Moon, is now on its way to the PlayStation 2.
In Fate Tiger Colosseum, PSP owners get to select their favorite characters from the series for a multiplayer versus brawler. In addition to combat, the new game will include a story mode, supervised by the original's scenario writer.
With cell-shaded anime-style characters and its connection to a series that few outside of Japan are familiar with, expect Fate Tiger Colosseum to stay in Japan. Importers should be on the watch later this year.
